00:00Oh darling. We're going to try and have a cuddle. What do you think? Yeah, you're not
00:13sure about that. That's very good. Oh, sweetheart. Very beautiful. Where did Lucy come along?
00:21When she arrived in my house, she was hidden in the corner, fearful. Most beautiful, innocent
00:28And she wasn't eating. You see how skinny our little girl is. She's just a bag of bones.
00:38And she's super scared still. So if I try to touch her, she'll try to bite me. I trialed
00:43various foods.
00:51And now we have some delicious barbie cooling. Let's see if you'll eat this. This is the
00:57fancy stuff. What do you think? Really?
01:06How about we try some cat food?
01:16Yeah, there you go.
01:20Trusty old cat food, hey?
01:23The stinkier, the better.
01:27Yeah, there you go.
01:35Lucy stayed in my bathroom for only two weeks to slowly gain her trust.
01:47Then I slowly moved her from the bathroom into the kitchen area.
01:57And then eventually into the living room to be with all the other dogs.
02:21I knew she had to see my engagement with other dogs to understand she was in a safe space.
02:27It took about eight weeks until she was playing with my other dogs. Definitely cried.
02:49So then she got curious and she got more confident to try and come up to me.
02:57Wow, Lucy. That's good for you.
03:13Now she lets me give her a belly rub.
03:18When I make her dinner and I'm feeding everyone, she dances and twirls.
03:24I never actually put her up for adoption. She just bonded to all my animals.
03:29She bonded to me. She finally felt safe. She's purely joy.
