Mama dog was trapped underground with her puppies. We talked to the people who finally rescued her about the moment she found the courage to walk into a home for the first time ❤️

00:00She wouldn't come in through the door.

00:13We were alerted to this dog within this area.

00:24We tried to catch the dog but were unsuccessful.

00:28We went in November to try and catch her again and found that she'd given birth and

00:33spent a day in the freezing cold trying to catch Angel to bring her to the shelter.

00:42She was petrified.

00:44We have no idea how they ended up in that pit.

00:47We would hazard a guess that somebody probably threw them down there.

00:52We got a call from a local lady who's been feeding them.

01:00She told us that the puppies were in the pit and the mother was there too.

01:05She was looking for ways out but there was no way out.

01:10She just gave up.

01:15The puppies were snuggled up in a tyre because it was still quite cold at that time of year.

01:24We got her out.

01:25We got her back here.

01:28Again she was petrified.

01:30It was heartbreaking.

01:31She was just completely broken.

01:41Angel is really uncomfortable with being touched still, understandably.

01:47And then she'd slowly come in.

01:49You in the house, pretty girl.

01:51Come on then.

01:52It's literally just a daily process.

01:56They were incredibly confident puppies and they helped her realise that we were no threat

02:02to her, that we weren't going to hurt her.

02:06They were really subtle signs but it was her way of showing us that she was happy to see

02:10us when we'd walk towards her pen, she'd have her tail wagging.

02:21When you see how she's progressing, it's all very rewarding.

02:26Angel's puppies have started their puppy training and they're all thriving.

02:31They're available for adoption.

02:40It's very heartwarming and it's very humbling to see them go from terrified in the corner

02:45of a pit of dew to snoring on a bed.
