00:03The entrance to a Derbyshire town could be ruined by loud music and drunken party goers

00:08if a new cocktail lounge is given a licence, according to residents.

00:12Plans from Adam Lookwell and councillor David Taylor, who is the current mayor of Alfredton,

00:17look to open a new cocktail lounge called Moot Bar in Church Street, Alfredton, opposite the War Memorial.

00:23An Amber Valley Borough Council licensing hearing is being held on Thursday

00:27after objections were submitted by six members of the public.

00:30They fear that a new licensed alcohol premises could lead to an increase in noise, disturbance and crime.

00:36If approved, the new venue would be allowed to sell alcohol from 9am until 12.30am Monday through to Thursday

00:43and from 9am until 1.30am on Friday through to Sunday.

00:47It wants permission to host live music from 10am until midnight every day of the week,

00:52which could involve performances in the previous and outdoor marquee.

00:57Around 200 people gathered in front of Chesterfield Town Hall over the weekend

01:01in response to a series of anti-immigration protests and violence across the country last week.

01:06The Unity in the Community event was organised by Stand Up to Racism Chesterfield

01:10and North Derbyshire and Chesterfield Trades Union Council.

01:13James Eden, who is President of Chesterfield TUC and one of the organisers of the event said,

01:18it was fantastic and really heartwarming turnout from Chesterfield over 200 people

01:23giving a clear message of unity in our community.

01:26We won't stand for racism and division.

01:28We were horrified by the violence that we have seen.

01:31Our town is better than that.

01:32We had some great speeches and poems and it was a really powerful event.
