00:00And when you find your place this morning, we're going to start in verse number 1 Matthew chapter number 5 in verse number 1
00:10The Bible said in seeing the multitudes
00:13He went up into a mountain and when he was set his disciples came unto him
00:19And he opened his mouth and taught them saying
00:23Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven
00:28Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted
00:32Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth
00:37Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled
00:44This morning. I want to preach on just the first six verses of
00:49The sermon on the mount the telephone message this morning is the sermon on the mount
00:55So let's have a word of prayer and we'll get right into the message
01:00Father in heaven again, we do. Thank you for the privilege of being able to come before you this morning
01:05I thank you for everyone who is here and we pray for those who are not able to come this morning
01:11We do pray this morning now that the Spirit of God would have full control God that you speak to us
01:16Are they you bless us?
01:18They reveal to us your word that you would challenge us this morning and Lord that we would more perfectly go out
01:25here and serve you more than we ever have before
01:28We thank you for being so good to us and we pray now that you bless the method bless the preaching in
01:34Jesus name we pray. Amen
01:38The sermon on the mount in
01:41Matthew chapter number 5 Jesus preaches perhaps his most famous sermon in all of Scripture
01:48The sermon on the mount as a matter of fact
01:53It is believed to this morning that when Jesus left Galilee
01:56He went up into a small mountain that faced the Sea of Galilee and then he began to teach his disciples
02:05And as I've studied the Scripture this morning
02:08the scenery
02:10Concerning this sermon must have been something to look at it was on the back side of Galilee
02:16Immediately facing the Sea of Galilee what an
02:19Opportunity it must have been for all the multitudes to be able to go and to follow
02:25Jesus and then listen to him preach in such a wonderful and beautiful place
02:31now a disciple this morning is
02:35Different than an apostle. I want you to understand that a
02:39Disciple this morning is simply someone who chooses to follow
02:45Jesus
02:47But an apostle is someone who has held a particular office when it came to the establishment of the church
02:54in other words
02:56Jesus only had 12 apostles
03:00But yet he had hundreds and thousands of disciples and that brings us to a very important question this morning
03:08Are you one of Jesus's?
03:11disciples
03:12This morning have you chosen from the heart made a conscious decision?
03:19That you were going to be a follower of Jesus Christ
03:24You know, I think about the Church of 2024 this morning and there are many in the church today
03:32That are in church. They listen to the preaching of God's Word. They even sing the hymns
03:38But they have never made a decision
03:41To follow Jesus
03:44There are many this morning even in the church
03:48Who as I'm preaching today are still sitting on the fence
03:52Trying to figure out
03:54If they want to follow Jesus
03:59This morning if that is you why don't you this morning come to an all and make the decision Lord Jesus
04:06I'm going to give you my heart. I'm going to follow you with everything that I'll have
04:10That's what it means this morning to be a disciple. It simply means to choose to
04:17follow
04:18after Jesus Christ
04:21But anyway in Matthew chapter number 5 we see Jesus go up into this mountain and
04:28One thing I want you to get and understand this morning is the Sermon on the Mount
04:35begins as a
04:37comparison
04:38To the life of Moses
04:41You may have never thought about this before but when Moses
04:45Went up to Mount Sinai to get the law
04:50He got the law and delivered it to the people
04:53Now we see where Jesus goes up into the mount
04:58To teach the people I would imagine this time that if the Pharisees were standing there
05:05Boy, they would have gotten furious
05:08The first thing that one of them would have said is now this man thinks that he's Moses
05:14This man thinks that he's equal to Moses
05:17But I want to remind you of something this morning church
05:21It was Jesus this morning who gave the law and the commandments to Moses
05:27So yes, as he went up into the mouth, he was definitely greater
05:31Than Moses the lawgiver to the Jewish people
05:35But
05:38We see here where Jesus went up into this mouth and the Bible says that he sat down
05:44You know this morning that was customary of someone in authority
05:50They would sit down and then they would start to expound the scriptures
05:56You see Jesus this morning had every right
06:00To
06:02Go in there as a priest as a prophet. I mean as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords
06:09With a multitude following it that the Pharisees never had
06:15and
06:16Then he sat down and he began to teach the multitude
06:23and
06:23He gave them this wonderful message concerning the sermon on the mountain this morning if you study this message
06:32You'll find out that Jesus here is going to deal with the very heart and the very nature of men and women
06:40he's going to talk about the establishment of his future kingdom and
06:44What it truly means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ
06:50And as we begin our study this morning we come across verse number two
06:55Where the Bible says that he opened his mouth and taught them saying
07:01You know, I believe this morning
07:04That if you and I will simply listen and if we are willing to learn I
07:11Believe this morning. There are many things that Jesus wants to teach us even in the world of today
07:17And I still believe this morning that God teaches us by his word
07:25In just a couple of weeks we're going to have a prophecy conference and
07:30This morning we are praying for a move of God
07:34Listen, we are praying this morning for God to send revival
07:38And I want to encourage you this morning that in your lives of time every day for the next few weeks to get into the word
07:47Listen
07:59Then watch what God is able to do
08:02The Bible teaches us this morning in James 4 and verse number 8 that he will draw nigh to God
08:09The Bible says he'll draw nigh to you
08:13This morning if you'll get close to God
08:16I
08:17Promise you this morning. He'll get close to you
08:20Listen in the morning if you get close to him, listen, he'll come where you are
08:24And in the deep hours of the night this morning if you'll speak him
08:28He'll come to where you are. He'll get close to you. Amen
08:34But I believe this morning that God teaches us according to his word and
08:41The reason why there is so much error in the world of today
08:46Is because too many people want to learn about God
08:51But they do not want to learn about him according to his word
08:59So they end up believing in a God that is not according to truth and
09:04As we look at the world of today, I think that all of you would agree with me this morning
09:10That the United Methodist denomination has completely left the authority of God's work
09:16They're not
09:19According to the truth of the Bible
09:23and
09:24many preachers this morning and many other denominations have done the same thing and
09:32They're quick to teach about a God
09:34but the God that they are presenting to the people today is contrary to the Word of God and
09:42And this morning if you have a pastor that doesn't believe the Bible
09:48Listen, there are many this morning. Make sure that do not believe the Bible, but they are teaching their people about God
09:55if you have a
09:56Pastor this morning that doesn't believe the Bible
10:00The only thing that he can do is teach the people
10:04his own personal philosophy about God
10:07I
10:18Would never sit underneath a path that denied the authority of God's Word
10:27But yet there are so many this morning in the world of today that do
10:31But
10:33Once you get into the Word of God and
10:36Miss Patty had mentioned this earlier in Sunday school. She sort of took my thunder this morning and back
10:44Once you get into the Word of God
10:46You'll find out that the Spirit of God begins to reveal the deep things of God to you. Oh
10:53you can't learn God's work without God's spirit and
10:58This morning listen if you'll take that time as we talked about it get along with God and get into his word and pray
11:05and seek God's place
11:07Then all of a sudden God's spirit will show up and he'll start
11:11Oh, he'll start filling your cup so full that you won't even be able to put the Bible down. Amen
11:18You see this morning we don't learn the scriptures through our own understanding
11:23This morning as we studied as we pray as we seek God's face God imparts a divine understanding
11:30When it comes to the child of God that is studying the Word of God
11:36That's why the world this morning can't begin to understand the scriptures and
11:42We see this morning where people in the world oftentimes misquote God's Word
11:48Because they can't understand it
11:50If the Spirit of God is not dwelling in a person that person cannot begin to understand what God is saying and what God is
11:58talking about
12:00but when a child of God this morning sits down to pray and to study the scriptures God's Word begins to flow and
12:07That cup this morning just begins to run over it
12:10But
12:12We find this morning in verse number two
12:15They open his mouth and taught them saying and now we get into the message this morning in verse number three
12:20Watch this the beginning of Jesus's message when he preached the sermon on the mouth. He said
12:28Spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven
12:35The first word we see in verse number three is the word
12:39Blessed now this morning if you were in Sunday school class, we just started a little series about how to how to study the Bible
12:47Now I'm going to give you some great examples this morning of how to study the Bible right here in Matthew chapter number 5 in
12:54verse number 3 the very first word in verse number 3 is the word blessed as
12:59The matter of fact from verses 3 through 11. We find that the beginning of every verse starts off with the word
13:07Blessed
13:09This morning what does the word blessed me
13:14You know, we oftentimes think that the word blessed always refers to material wealth and having great possessions
13:22But that's not what the word means
13:25As a matter of fact the word blessed comes from the Greek word
13:29notarios and
13:30It is a word that simply means watch this
13:35To be happy
13:38The blessed man or the blessed woman is a happy man or a happy woman
13:46That's what it truly means to be blessed this morning
13:49And the world of today people think that the key to happiness is having a lot of money and having a lot of possession
13:58But this morning all around us and I'm not preaching against having money
14:02I'm not pretty just having a house and having cars. I'm not preaching against all that
14:07But we see all these people that think that the key to happiness is having possession
14:14But yet as we look at the wealthiest people in our world
14:20We see where they've got the houses and the cars and they've got more money than they could ever spend
14:25But you know what? I've noticed throughout the years of ministry
14:28The one thing that they do not have
14:31Is that
14:39But they don't have happiness they don't have joy I
14:44Believe this morning that the root of all happiness the root of all joy comes from a right relationship with God
14:52Which comes through Jesus Christ?
14:55I believe this morning that a poor man can shout and rejoice if he knows God
15:01He'll be happy a
15:03Wealthy woman that knows God can shout and rejoice, but it's not because of her. Well
15:09It's because she has a right relationship with God and Jesus Christ
15:13I believe this morning with all my heart that that's where true joy and happiness comes from
15:19I'm blessing this morning doesn't come from what we possess. It comes from boots. That's all
15:24You
15:26See material wealth and material possessions can only do so much for a person
15:33But true joy and true happiness starts at the cross
15:37and
15:39To be happy or blessed
15:42Listen, the Bible says happy or blessed are the poor in spirit
15:48What does it mean this morning to be poor in spirit?
15:51Well, I believe this more than it means that you have have to have been stripped of all your pride
15:56You have to have been stripped of everything in this world
16:00And in complete humility
16:03You have to come to a place where you acknowledge that you mean God
16:10If a person doesn't need God or they don't feel like they need God
16:17They really don't have anything
16:21But I think about the definition of a sinner this morning coming to the same
16:26Listen, we're a lost man or a lost woman come to Jesus. They come stripped of everything
16:32and the gift of their sin they kneel at the cross and
16:36they plead with Jesus to forgive them and save them and
16:40Right there at the cross
16:42That sinful man or woman chooses to leave their life of sin behind and go for following Jesus
16:49You see that's what it means right there to be saved listen God doesn't save us for us to remain in our sins
16:57He saves us when we're stripped of everything in this world and we come to him because we need him
17:05Listen to be poor in spirit
17:08Simply means to acknowledge that you need God and listen
17:11I'm not too full of pride this morning to stand before you and say listen every day that I live I need God
17:19You
17:25You know when I think about the church this morning
17:28I'm going to tell you something the church this morning is in sad shape
17:34As a matter of fact in our study in the book of Revelation, we're going to get to that
17:39Probably this week if not this week, we're going to definitely get to it next week when we talk about the land to see in church
17:44Listen that the age that we're living in right now and this church age is in sad
17:50shape compared to the church all throughout the ages
17:55You know, we're far too long listen the church
18:00Has left the cross
18:03For far too long. Listen, the church this morning has started preaching all sorts of different things
18:10And going different places
18:14I'm going to tell you what the church needs this morning. The church doesn't need another gospel
18:20The church needs a return to the truth of the gospel
18:24Listen, the church needs to stop preaching
18:27Psychology and feel-good messages and prosperity and wealth and the church needs to get back to preaching Jesus and his crucifixion
18:38That's what the church needs in 2024
18:42As a matter of fact one of Jesus's main complaints against this church age is found in Revelation chapter number 3
18:50When he said thou sayest I am rich and increased with goods that have need of nothing
18:56And know not that thou art wretched and miserable watches and poor and blind and naked
19:04Listen the church of today sees itself in a far different light
19:09Than the way God sees us
19:13And
19:15Because of this lesson we need to come back to the cross and once again become a poor in spirit
19:21We need to come back to a place that our lives this morning where we once again proclaim that we need God
19:27And we need to leave the world
19:29behind and simply come and follow Jesus
19:34The
19:37Bible says right there in verse number three blessed are the poor in spirit watches for theirs is the kingdom of heaven
19:44You see the blessing the happiness that Jesus talks about as a promise of joy in this life
19:52But it's also a promise of future joy
19:56Jesus
19:58Said blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven
20:02So what Jesus was saying as he was delivering this message, he said listen, I'll give you a joy today and
20:10That joy will carry you through tomorrow
20:14And he said there's coming a day that I'm going to set up my kingdom and
20:19In that day, you'll have joy in my kingdom as well
20:22You
20:24See the real blessing that God offers to his people more than material wealth more than great possessions is
20:32to be able to have joy and peace of mind and
20:36That is something that is seriously lacking in the lives of so many people in the world of today
20:44So we see that in verse number three where he said blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven and
20:51Then we get to verse number four where Jesus said blessed are they that more watches for they shall be
20:58comforted
21:00Now stay with the word blessed
21:05The Bible tells us right here happy are they that more
21:10For they shall be comforted
21:13Miss Patty, I'm gonna be honest. Nobody is happy when they're mortal
21:17When
21:19You lose someone you love
21:22It's oftentimes the most difficult thing that you'll go through in your life
21:28You know since I've been at Central Baptist Church almost 11 years now, it seems like a drop in the bucket
21:34But almost 11 years later. Listen, we buried some wonderful people
21:39You know, we've lost some wonderful people this morning. And of course everyone knows the most recent one was Miss Lois
21:47And this morning when I think about morning, listen, we do more for those we have lost in this life
21:54but the blessing that
21:57Jesus is talking about is a blessing that comes with the promise of comfort
22:03No, thank you. Blessing are they that more for they shall be
22:07comforted
22:10You see the promise that in our time of need
22:14That God himself will come to where we are that wraps his arms around us and
22:20Give us what we need to make it through
22:25But that promise this morning is also a promise for the future
22:30Not only will God comfort us today
22:34There's also a promise that will be reunited with those that who we love and lost in this life
22:41And many of you this morning know the story with my mom my mom passed away just a few years ago and
22:47It still was the most difficult thing that I've ever had to endure in my life
22:52Now I'm gonna tell you something there was a time of mourning
22:56But I'm glad this morning that God gave me a promise that even though she's no longer here
23:02There's coming a day when I can see her again
23:06That's the promise. That's the hope. That's what God gives to all
23:10when we mourn those who we've lost and
23:15Because of that I'm blessed I'm happy
23:19Listen because of that this morning you're blessed
23:22You're happy because you know that there's coming a day
23:26When you'll be able to see those who you love once more
23:32But the mourning this morning does not only apply to those who have passed away
23:37It also applies to those who are living but this morning they have lost their way
23:45And I know that there are a multitude of parents and grandparents who are mourning over their children
23:52Who are mourning over their grandchildren who are out in this world and lost?
23:59But today the Bible tells us that if you'll bring your tears in your mourning to God
24:05Listen if you'll bring that son or that daughter and that grandson or that granddaughter before the throne of God
24:12The Bible says this morning that you'll be comforted
24:17You know, I oftentimes think about the story of the prodigal son
24:22As this young man went out into the world and made a mess of his life
24:26Do you know this morning brother Martin that his father mourned for him every day? I
24:32Believe every day his father looked down that road hoping that his son would come home
24:37It tore him up just to think about what could have happened to his son as he went his own way
24:45But when we look at that story one day he saw his son coming back home
24:51You read the story. What did he say? Well, he said my son which was dead is alive again
24:57He was lost and his found
25:00Then the Bible says they began to be married you see he was mourning his lost son
25:08But yet God gave him comfort in
25:12The fact that he was going home again. I'm going to tell you something this morning. God can turn your mourning into joy
25:20You see the promise of God's Word this morning is blessed. Are they that more for they shall be
25:26comforted
25:29And then this morning we get to verse number five in
25:34Verse number five the Bible says blessed are the meat
25:38For they shall inherit the earth
25:42Now this morning we're going to stay with the word blessed
25:48This morning if I don't accomplish anything else through the preaching of the Word of God
25:52You're going to know what the word blessed means. Amen
25:57But staying with the word blessed
25:59The Bible tells us happy are the meek
26:04For they shall inherit the earth
26:09The word meek this morning is a word that means Jenna
26:15It is a word that describes the way in which we are to deal with people in this world
26:24The Christian this morning is not to be of those who are always violent
26:29Who always want to fight who always want a war against everyone and everything?
26:35But when we deal with other people we need to do so in a gentle manner and I'm going to tell you something
26:40That's not always easy to do
26:42You know, I've met people this morning that will literally try your Christianity every chance that you get. I
26:49Got I know people this more
26:51I have met people this morning that will mock God and they'll make fun of
26:56What you believe just because they know that you can't stand it
27:02Sometimes it's very difficult to be gentle with people have I always been general people
27:06No, I have not I failed at that probably more than anything else in my life
27:14But this morning in order to win the world to Jesus Christ
27:17We've got to learn to deal with people. We've got to be able to do so in a gentle manner
27:22Now that does not mean that you don't present the truth to someone
27:27You know, you always present the truth of the gospel
27:31You always preach the truth of the gospel
27:35But there's always a right way to do so I remember
27:39Years ago. I made friends with a fellow that I worked with when I was a scary out of brothers
27:44And he was a real nice guy. We went out golfing and we had become good friends
27:49And I tried to win him to Christ this guy and I asked my son sir, I said, hey do you ever
27:56Show to follow Jesus. I said if you ever given your life to Jesus
28:02And this guy looked at me. He said no, I never have done that. But I want to tell you a story
28:09We were sitting in a golf cart right up there and Amy playing golf
28:13And he said, you know, he said I have a neighbor and
28:17She's a devout Christian and he really had a problem with Christianity in the church
28:23He said, you know, she's a Christian. He said it up every time
28:28From work. I come home from a ball game or we come home from this and that
28:34He said I would come home and this woman be standing by my fence yelling at me and telling me how I was nothing but a
28:41drunk
28:42How my kids were bad and she would always tell me she said you and your whole family are going to hell
28:50He said it was almost like she did that every single day
28:55But tell you something church will never win the world like that
28:59You know as much as I befriended that fellow as much as I
29:03Talked to him and encouraged him, you know, he never to my knowledge became a Christian
29:08Because he looked at the way that he was dealt with you see when we if you want to win the world the price you tell
29:14Them the truth
29:15You can preach it to them. But before you ever
29:19Stop preaching to this
29:22Need to make sure your friends with them
29:24You need to show them that you care about him and love them
29:28You know won't do us any good this morning to stand by the fence and tell someone how terrible they are
29:34That's not going to win the world for Jesus
29:38I
29:40Want you to think about that this morning
29:43When Jesus said blessed are the meat for they shall inherit the earth
29:49But there's something else I wanted to notice about concerning the word me. Do you know this porn that the word meat doesn't mean weak
29:57In order to be me you don't be gentle with people listen, you don't have to be weak
30:02When
30:04We read the scriptures this morning now remember who's preaching this message
30:10Jesus is preaching this message
30:14He said in verse number five blessed are the meat for they shall inherit the earth
30:19When you read the Word of God, you're not going to find a person who is born beat than Jesus
30:27When you read about how he dealt with people he sat with sinners he acted with sinners he loved sinners
30:35Never loved their sin
30:38But he loved the sinner
30:42Was he weak because he was gentle with sins was he weak because he was meek
30:49It's the same Jesus who is preaching this message who would go into the temple with a whip and
30:56Run out the money changers you say who are the money changers?
30:59Well, if you start reading the scriptures, you'll find out that there were people who are bringing animals to the temple
31:05And they were going into the temple. They were selling animals to be sacrificed
31:10when Jesus saw it
31:12He took a whip and he went into the temple. He drove them all out. And this is what he said
31:17He said it is written that my house shall be called a house of prayer
31:22But you've made it into a den of thieves
31:26Not
31:27To get off the subject
31:28But how many preachers this morning have changed God's house from being a house of prayer that made it into nothing more than a den
31:34of thieves. Oh
31:37I believe that if Jesus was walking among us this morning
31:40I believe he'd go into some churches with a whip and he'd run some money changes out of it
31:47But we see where Jesus was made oh
31:51But that doesn't mean that he was weak listen if there was ever a man that lived it was the Lord Jesus Christ
31:59He loved sinners he was gentle with people he said he ate he fellowshiped with sinners he never partook in their sins
32:09But he built relationships with people and then he presented them the truth
32:15Concerning their sin in the way of salvation
32:17Now this morning if the truth becomes offensive let it affect
32:27But make sure that when you present the truth that it's always done because you love the individual
32:38But notice what Jesus said Jesus said the meat shall inherit the earth
32:43Now we talked about in Sunday school the reference to the kingdom of heaven and we've already established
32:49That the kingdom of heaven is not heaven itself, but that it is this physical
32:54Kingdom the land of pain. That's what the kingdom of heaven is
32:58Jesus said here. He said the meat shall inherit the earth
33:02So what's he saying? Well, that's a reference right there to the setting of his physical kingdom
33:07Which will last for a thousand years
33:10After the end of the tribulation period
33:14So he's saying the meat shall inherit the earth. I remember talking to a Jehovah Witness woman one time
33:21And as we talked about in Sunday school, they are very famous for misinterpreting the scripture. Amen
33:28And I asked this lady I said, uh, according to your religion in your doctrine
33:34I
33:41Said let me ask you a question. I said, are you gonna be one of the hundred and forty four thousand?
33:46This Jehovah Witness lady looked at me and she said oh, no, I could never be that good. I
33:53Said so what's gonna happen to you? This is what she told me. She said well, I'm gonna inherit the earth. I
33:59Looked at her I said, you do know the Bible says the earth is going to be burned up with perfect heat
34:04I said, what are you going to do that?
34:08You didn't really have an answer to that
34:13But this morning you and I as believers in Jesus Christ listen
34:17We look for a new heaven in a new earth where in dwelleth righteousness
34:21And we understand this more that this world is only a temple
34:26But God has something eternal for all who believe as a matter of fact you do a study on the life of Abraham
34:33Listen, God led him to the land of Canaan
34:36That was the promised land
34:38But you read the book of Hebrews the Bible says listen that he wasn't necessarily looking for a physical place
34:43but he was looking for a city whose builder and maker is God a man and
34:49This morning as believers in Jesus Christ. Listen, that's where our focus is this morning
34:53We seek the kingdom of God
34:56Amen above everything else
35:00So in verse number five the Bible says blessed are the meek
35:05for they shall inherit the earth dealing with how we deal with people and
35:11Then number six the Bible says verse number six blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after
35:18righteousness
35:20For they shall be filled and this is my last verse of this morning
35:26When I ask you a question
35:28Have you ever been happy when you're hungry?
35:33Have you ever been happy when you're thirsty I
35:37Can't tell you a time where I've ever been happy when I'm hungry. I can't tell you time. I've been happy when I'm thirsty
35:44I'll tell you where the happiness come from the happiness doesn't come from the hunger and the thirst
35:50The happiness come from when you get filled
35:54That's when the joy comes and
35:57The promise in the scripture this morning is if you and I will get hungry for God
36:04Listen, we'll get thirsty for God
36:07The promise this morning is that God will fill you
36:14You know, I remember something miss Susan said a couple of weeks ago and I don't mean to put you on the spot this morning
36:20But a couple of weeks ago miss Susan said that she'd like to see a revival like we've read about
36:26you know revival this morning like the church used to have a
36:31Revival where God moved and people got saved by the multitudes and listen, I've been in meetings like that
36:38I've been in meetings this morning
36:40I remember meetings this morning where the Spirit of God became so thick in the
36:45Congregation that people started coming to the altar before the preaching even start
36:50I've been in meetings this morning years ago where families would get restored
37:06Miss Susan say, you know, I'd like to see a revival like that
37:11This morning do you want to see him move on God like that?
37:15I'll tell you what you have to do this morning. You have to get hungry
37:20You have to get thirsty
37:23You know when I read this verse of Scripture I think about a man in the desert who knows that there's water nearby
37:33Listen that man's going to do everything that he can to get to that water
37:38That man this morning even will follow his knees and crawls if he's know that water is nearby
37:46and
37:48That man when he gets to that wall
37:51I'll tell you what it saves his life. He gets restored. It gives him joy
37:57when we read about Jesus this morning, the Bible tells us that Jesus is both the bread of life and
38:03He's the living water
38:06And I'm gonna tell you something church. We once again need to get hungry for God and
38:11Thirsty for God and I'm going to tell you what true hunger and thirst for God does not become content
38:19until
38:20We get filled
38:24When people fasted, you know how long they fasted they fasted until they got a lance
38:35Well, I'll tell you what if the church this morning could get hungry like that
38:39When people began to pray there were many times that they didn't stop praying till they got an answer. Oh
38:47It's a church this morning will get thirsty like
38:51We'd be able to see the God of old move again just like you used to
38:57You see it's not this morning that God doesn't want to move it's not this morning that God doesn't want to work
39:03The problem this morning is instead of being hungry for God
39:06We've gotten so filled up with the world that God cannot move and work in our church
39:12So this morning I encourage you if you want revival this morning if you want to see a move of God this morning
39:19Like you've never seen
39:21Why don't we take these next couple of weeks and empty ourselves of everything in this godforsaken world and
39:29Find ourselves a place on our face and just hungry for God
39:34And get God's presence and touch back on our life
39:39So this morning the question are you hungry this morning are you thirsty for God this morning
39:45Or this morning. Are you filled up with the things in this world?
39:51If so this morning
39:54Would you have to be yourself and say God I'm hungry for you
39:58I want to see you move like you used to I want my family say
40:03I want to see sinners say I want to see a church built.
40:08Oh if you'll get hungry and thirsty for God the Bible tells us in verse number six
40:12Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness. Watch this
40:16For they shall be filled. God said if you'll get hungry I'll give it to you.
40:22So the title of the message this morning I'm through the sermons on
40:27The mount why don't you go ahead and stand with your heads down your eyes closed. I'm through the sermons
