00:00We're going to be in Daniel chapter number 2 tonight.
00:03We're going to be in Daniel chapter number 2.
00:05Throughout the course of our conference,
00:06we're going to spend quite a bit of time dealing with the book of Daniel.
00:10We're going to see many different places.
00:12We're going to see some things in Ezekiel and Revelation as well.
00:16But tonight, we're going to be in Daniel chapter number 2.
00:19When you find your place there,
00:21we're going to start in verse number 28.
00:24The Bible says in Daniel chapter number 2 in verse number 28,
00:54what shall come to pass?
00:57But as for me,
00:58this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living.
01:04But for their sakes,
01:05that shall make known the interpretation of the king,
01:09and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.
01:12Thou, O king, sawest and behold a great image.
01:16This great image, whose brightness was excellent,
01:19stood before thee, and the form thereof was terrible.
01:23This image's head was of fine gold,
01:26its breast and its arms of silver,
01:29its belly and its thighs of brass,
01:32its legs of iron,
01:35its feet part of iron and part of clay.
01:39Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hand,
01:43which smote the image upon its feet,
01:46that were of iron and clay,
01:48and break them to pieces.
01:51Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver,
01:54and the gold broken to pieces together,
01:58and became like the shaft of the summer threshing floors.
02:02And the wind carried them away,
02:04that no place was found for them.
02:07And the stone that smote the image became a great mountain,
02:11and filled the whole earth.
02:15The title of the message tonight,
02:16The Prophecies of the Past.
02:20The Prophecies of the Past.
02:22Let's have a word of prayer,
02:23and we'll get right into the lesson.
02:26Father in heaven, again,
02:27we do thank you for the privilege of being able to come,
02:30and being able to worship tonight.
02:31We thank you for the word of God,
02:33and we thank you for the trustworthiness of your word.
02:36We do pray tonight, Lord,
02:38as a lot of us are looking at what's happening in this world.
02:42I pray, God, tonight, that you'd help us to lay a foundation
02:45so we can see exactly where we are at on your timetable,
02:50and what is coming in the days ahead.
02:52We do pray now that you bless this time of preaching.
02:55I pray that you bless the message tonight,
02:58for it's in Jesus' name we pray, amen.
03:03The fulfillment of Bible prophecy
03:07validates the Bible to be the word of God.
03:12You know, we live in a world tonight
03:15that is full of skeptics.
03:18We live in a world tonight that is full of people
03:20that question the Bible.
03:23They deny the Bible.
03:24They make fun of the Bible.
03:27And the Bible tells us that's something
03:29that we can expect in the latter times.
03:31In 2 Peter 3 and Jude 9,
03:35the Bible tells us that in the last days,
03:38there will be both scoffers and mockers
03:42who walk after their own ungodly lusts.
03:46And these scoffers, these skeptics,
03:50they claim that the Bible is not the word of God,
03:55but the word of man.
03:56How many of you in recent days,
03:58or maybe even the last couple of years,
04:00have talked to somebody who says,
04:02well, I didn't believe the Bible
04:03because that's not the word of God, it's the word of man?
04:08I talk to people like that,
04:09especially among the younger generations all the time.
04:13They don't believe that the Bible is God's word.
04:17They believe that the Bible is the word of man.
04:21And these scoffers and these mockers,
04:23they attack the church of the living God.
04:26They attack the deity of Jesus Christ.
04:28And many of them today even question
04:31whether or not Jesus even existed.
04:36So in the world of today, we as Christians
04:38are faced with a lot of people who are skeptical
04:43concerning the Lord Jesus Christ and the word of God.
04:48But the fulfillment of Bible prophecy
04:52brings everything together.
04:55And the fulfillment of Bible prophecy
04:58gives validation to the Bible as being the word of God.
05:03Now, when it comes to the study of Bible prophecy,
05:07one thing that we have to understand tonight
05:10is that you cannot begin to understand
05:12what is happening in the future
05:15without studying what has happened in the past.
05:19The things that have happened in the past
05:22literally lay the foundation
05:24for what is going to take place in the future.
05:28And in today's study,
05:30and in today's study,
05:32we're going to look at numerous Bible prophecies
05:36that have already come to pass.
05:38And it's important for us tonight to do this study
05:42because the prophecies of the past
05:44literally will pave the way
05:46for the fulfillment of the prophecies
05:49yet still in the future.
05:52So in our study tonight,
05:54we're gonna be looking at a person
05:55by the name of Nebuchadnezzar.
05:57How many of you have heard of Nebuchadnezzar?
06:00Nebuchadnezzar, in my opinion,
06:01is one of the most interesting characters
06:03in all of the Bible.
06:06He was the king of Babylon,
06:07but if you read about him,
06:08he probably was the most bipolar king that ever existed.
06:12There were days when Nebuchadnezzar had a good day
06:15and he wanted to bless everybody.
06:17And then all of a sudden,
06:18there were days when he had a bad day
06:20and he wanted to kill everybody.
06:22That was how Nebuchadnezzar was.
06:25But in this study,
06:26Nebuchadnezzar had a dream about an image
06:30whose head was made of pure gold.
06:33His breastplate was made of silver.
06:36His belly was made of brass.
06:38In his instance, he saw where the thighs
06:41or the limbs were made of iron.
06:45This image had 10 toes made of iron mixed with clay.
06:50And all of a sudden,
06:51as Nebuchadnezzar had this vision and had this dream,
06:54he noticed that there was a rock
06:56that was cut out of the image.
07:00And the rock literally came and destroyed the entire image.
07:04Miss Diane, that's when I believe right there
07:06that Nebuchadnezzar probably woke up in a cold sweat
07:10as he had probably one of the worst nightmares
07:12that he ever had in his life.
07:16You see, this image was a picture
07:19of what would happen in the future
07:22and how the world was going to come to an end.
07:26So we find here in Daniel chapter number two,
07:29Nebuchadnezzar immediately became a student
07:33of end time prophecy.
07:37Now it's also important to note tonight
07:39that Nebuchadnezzar in his own life
07:41was a worshiper of images.
07:43As a matter of fact, in chapter number three,
07:45you're gonna notice where Nebuchadnezzar
07:47after he gets this vision,
07:49he sets up another image of himself to be worshipped.
07:53He was a worshipper of images.
07:56So we find here in the scripture
07:58that the way that God chooses to deal with Nebuchadnezzar
08:01is he gives him a dream about an image.
08:06That is how he gets on the same plane with Nebuchadnezzar.
08:11And when Nebuchadnezzar gets the dream of this image,
08:15listen, he would demand answers.
08:19Nebuchadnezzar, you can continue to do the study.
08:22Listen, he'll go through his whole kingdom
08:24asking somebody to give him the interpretation of the dream
08:29but there was nobody who could interpret.
08:32So all of a sudden again, Nebuchadnezzar being bipolar,
08:35he decided he was gonna kill everybody
08:37because nobody could tell him what his dream meant.
08:40And then all of a sudden someone brought to him
08:42a young man by the name of Daniel.
08:44Daniel was divinely inspired of God
08:48and Daniel had the answer to Nebuchadnezzar's dream.
08:52Now not only was Daniel able to interpret the dream,
08:55this is worth noting tonight,
08:57not only could he interpret the dream
08:59but Daniel also had to tell Nebuchadnezzar what he dreamed
09:04in order for Nebuchadnezzar to believe it.
09:07So we find some amazing things here in this story
09:11but Nebuchadnezzar had come to a place
09:14where he was so troubled at what was going to happen
09:17in the future that he demanded answers.
09:20And he got his answers from the word of God.
09:25As we look at what is happening in the world of today,
09:28I'm gonna tell you something,
09:29this world ought to be troubled
09:31because we see the Bible fulfilling every single day
09:35right before our eyes.
09:36And if you don't believe me, come back to the Friday night,
09:39I'm gonna show you exactly how the Bible is fulfilling
09:42even in the days in which we live.
09:45But if I did not know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior,
09:49listen, I would be a lot like Nebuchadnezzar
09:51looking at what is happening in the world of today
09:54saying, what is going on?
09:56And listen, it's going to hurt me
09:59to get my life and my heart right with God
10:03because we see right in front of us
10:04that the Bible is being fulfilled.
10:07So tonight we're gonna start out
10:10with the image of Nebuchadnezzar
10:12and what prophecies were fulfilled out of this image.
10:16Number one, Nebuchadnezzar had a dream.
10:19His dream, his vision started with a head of gold.
10:23Look at verse number 37.
10:26And I hope that you're not in a hurry tonight
10:27because we're gonna be here for a little while.
10:31In verse number 37,
10:32this is what Daniel said to Nebuchadnezzar.
10:34He said, thou, O king, art a king of kings.
10:38For the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom,
10:41power and strength and glory.
10:44And wheresoever the children of men dwell,
10:46the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven
10:49hath he given into thine hand
10:52and hath made thee ruler over them all.
10:56This next phrase, look at this.
10:58He says to Nebuchadnezzar, thou art this head of gold.
11:05So Daniel right here said to Nebuchadnezzar
11:08that Nebuchadnezzar was the head of gold.
11:11He was the beginning of the image
11:14that God had revealed to him.
11:17Now that was probably a very easy prophecy
11:21for Daniel to interpret
11:23because at that present time,
11:26Nebuchadnezzar had already taken Jerusalem
11:29and he had control over all of Judah
11:32and he had control really over the majority
11:34of the Middle East.
11:37Nebuchadnezzar was, in many respects,
11:39in that day, the king of the world.
11:43As a matter of fact, one of the titles
11:44that Daniel gave him was, he said,
11:46listen, he said, we know that you are a king of kings.
11:50And what you notice, he was not the king of kings.
11:53That title is reserved strictly to the Lord Jesus Christ.
11:58And there's coming a time when he will establish
12:01his throne in this world
12:02and he will be crowned king of kings and Lord of lords.
12:08But Daniel was telling the king,
12:11listen, you are this head of gold.
12:15Now there's a lot of people right there
12:17that might say, well,
12:20you know, maybe Daniel wasn't too different
12:22than other people.
12:23Maybe he was telling Nebuchadnezzar this
12:25to get on his good side.
12:27I mean, who wouldn't want to be called
12:29the top of the statue, the head of gold?
12:32But that was not the case.
12:34And the skeptic could very easily say,
12:36well, of course, Nebuchadnezzar was this head of gold
12:39because Daniel had personally witnessed him
12:42in his armies come in and take Judah
12:44and the majority of the known world at that time.
12:48But there are two things we have to take into consideration.
12:53Number one, concerning the dream of Nebuchadnezzar.
12:57Daniel's task, as we already discussed,
13:02was not only to give the interpretation of the dream,
13:07but to tell Nebuchadnezzar what he dreamed.
13:10So Daniel couldn't have just made up the golden head
13:13because he would have had to already know
13:16that the image had a golden head.
13:18Nebuchadnezzar dreamed it.
13:20Daniel told him what he dreamed and what the dream meant.
13:24How did he do that?
13:27Well, there's only one way
13:28that he possibly could have done that.
13:31God must have visited him and gave him the same dream
13:34with the interpretation already.
13:39But number two, the second thing
13:40that we need to consider is this.
13:43Do you know the night that there were other prophets
13:47that were before Daniel and during the time of Daniel
13:52that had also prophesied about how Nebuchadnezzar
13:55was going to take Jerusalem?
13:58And then those prophecies came true,
14:01exactly like the prophet said.
14:04The prophet Jeremiah prophesied of the destruction
14:07of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar in Jeremiah 6,
14:10in verse number one.
14:11He said, only children of Benjamin,
14:13gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem.
14:17Blow the trumpet in Tekoa.
14:19Set up a sign of fire in Bethsalem.
14:22For evil appeareth out of the north in great destruction.
14:27The prophet Ezekiel had prophesied of the destruction
14:29of Jerusalem by the Babylonians
14:32in Ezekiel chapter five, verses five through eight.
14:36The prophet Isaiah, years before the Babylonians
14:39were even a threat to Judah,
14:41had prophesied that Judah was going to fall
14:43to the Babylonians in Isaiah chapter 22,
14:47verses 16 through 18, when Isaiah said,
14:51what hath thou here, and whom hath thou here,
14:54that thou hast hewed thee out of sepulchre here?
14:58As he that heweth them out of sepulchre on high,
15:01and that braveth an habitation from sepulchre on high.
15:03Now listen to this next part.
15:04Isaiah said, behold, the Lord will carry thee away
15:08with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee.
15:14And when Babylon marched upon Judah,
15:18it happened exactly like the prophets had said
15:22that it would happen.
15:25So in the first part of this vision,
15:26we see the head of gold.
15:29That was Nebuchadnezzar.
15:30That was the Babylonian empire.
15:34But number two, there's a second thing
15:35that we see in this vision.
15:37Number two, we also see the breastplate of silver.
15:40Look at verse number 39, if you would.
15:44And after thee, after Nebuchadnezzar,
15:47after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee.
15:55You see, this is the part tonight
15:57that gets really interesting.
16:00So Daniel is standing before perhaps
16:05the one of the most cruel,
16:07but yet powerful kings in all the world.
16:11As Daniel interprets this king's dream,
16:14he looks at the king and says,
16:16well, you're the head of gold,
16:17but I've got some bad news for you.
16:19Your kingdom's not gonna stand.
16:22Because after you, there's another kingdom
16:26that's gonna come and they're gonna take your place.
16:29Now, Brother Martin, that sort of shows me
16:31some things right there.
16:33That shows me right there that Daniel
16:35wasn't trying to please Nebuchadnezzar.
16:38Because if he was trying to please him,
16:40he would have said, oh, your kingdom's gonna last forever.
16:43No, he wasn't doing that.
16:44He was telling him the truth of what was going to happen.
16:49And of course, if you've studied history tonight,
16:51you know exactly what had happened.
16:54In 539 BC, when the Medes and the Persians came in,
16:58they besieged the city of Babylon
17:01and under the authority of a king by the name of Cyrus
17:04and Darius the Mede,
17:06they not only took Babylon,
17:08but they took the entire kingdom
17:11that Nebuchadnezzar had established.
17:15Now, something that's interesting to note,
17:18Daniel was alive in the days of Nebuchadnezzar.
17:22He knew Nebuchadnezzar personally.
17:25He was alive in the days of Cyrus and Darius.
17:28As a matter of fact, you continue reading,
17:30he had a personal relationship
17:32with both Cyrus and Darius.
17:35He knew them both, knew them well.
17:37He was literally alive and witnessed two empires
17:42come and take Jerusalem
17:45and become established in this world.
17:51But Daniel was not alive for the third part of this vision,
17:56which was the belly of brass.
17:57Look at verse number 39 one more time.
18:00And a lot of this is just introduction tonight,
18:02but verse number 39,
18:03after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee.
18:07Now that was the Persian empire.
18:09All right, quite a note there.
18:11Now watch this.
18:12And another third kingdom of brass,
18:15which shall bear rule over all the earth.
18:21All right, the belly of brass.
18:24Now the belly of brass was far more inferior
18:29than the first two kingdoms.
18:33And it was also believed that the Persians
18:34would rule the entire world
18:37and that there would never be an army who could defeat them.
18:40At that time in history,
18:43the Persians were almost unstoppable.
18:46There was nobody on earth that could begin
18:49to match the power of the Persian military at that time.
18:54But then came the Grecians led by Alexander the Great.
18:58Many of you know the history of Alexander the Great.
19:01Perhaps the greatest military genius that has ever lived.
19:07And Alexander the Great in 334 BC
19:10literally conquered the unconquerable Persian empire.
19:16You see, they were the belly of brass
19:20that would defeat the mighty Persian armies
19:22and now take over the entire kingdom.
19:26Just like Daniel said that it was going to happen.
19:30But Alexander, if you study out his life,
19:33he would die a premature death.
19:36And when you study history,
19:37you'll notice that his four generals would take his empire
19:40and they would literally sell it off to the highest bidder.
19:45And then after the belly of brass,
19:48then we see the legs of iron.
19:51Look at verse number 40 if you would.
19:54The fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron.
19:58For as much as iron breaketh in pieces
20:00and subdueth all things,
20:02and as iron that breaketh all these
20:05shall it break in pieces and prove.
20:11If you don't know,
20:13the legs of iron would become what was known
20:18as the mighty Roman empire.
20:23And this kingdom would last for many years.
20:27From about 200 BC all the way through the life
20:30and the times of Jesus Christ,
20:32all the way to about 476 AD,
20:36the Roman empire would literally rule the entire world.
20:41Now notice in the image it had two legs.
20:45The two legs would represent the split in the Roman empire,
20:49which happened around 376 AD.
20:54Now I want you to notice something.
20:57Daniel was alive to see two of these prophecies fulfilled.
21:05But he died and then after his death,
21:09the other two prophecies came to fulfillment.
21:16But then we see the part of the image
21:19that has not yet been fulfilled.
21:23So four parts of the image became fulfilled.
21:26The Babylonians, the Persians, the Grecians,
21:28and the Roman empire.
21:32Okay, now to the next part,
21:33the 10 toes mixed with iron and clay.
21:36This is the part that has not been yet fulfilled
21:39that is happening right in front of us
21:41in the world of today.
21:43Look at verses 41 through 43.
21:47And where has thou sought the feet and the toes
21:50part of potter's clay and part of iron?
21:53The kingdom shall be divided,
21:54but there shall be ended of the strength of the iron
21:58for as much as thou sought the iron mixed with miry clay.
22:03And as the toes of the feet were part of iron
22:05and part of clay,
22:07so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly broken.
22:14And where has thou sought as iron mixed with miry clay,
22:18they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men,
22:21but they shall not sleep one to another
22:24even as iron is not mixed with clay.
22:29After the Roman empire was split,
22:33it became weakened,
22:35but yet it still had influence
22:37over many of the nations in the world.
22:42Rome would literally plant itself
22:46in the nations in this world
22:49through what we know to be the Roman church.
22:54And the 10 toes becomes a future prophecy
22:59of a 10 nation European alliance,
23:03which we're going to talk about tomorrow night
23:05and especially Friday,
23:07we're gonna talk about that in great detail.
23:09But the 10 toes that have iron mixed with clay
23:13simply represent 10 nations that will come together
23:16in unity in an alliance.
23:19They'll have no leader.
23:21And when we see the iron mixed with the clay,
23:25we understand that that's the influence of Rome
23:27in all of those nations.
23:29I'm gonna give you something right now.
23:30When you look at the European nations today,
23:32they all have one thing in common.
23:35Every one of them has the church of Rome
23:40that has influenced them all throughout history.
23:43So we need to understand that.
23:46And then of course, the last part of the statue,
23:48the part that brought great fear
23:50to Nebuchadnezzar was the stone
23:52that was cut out of the image.
23:54Look at verse number 44.
23:57And in the days of these kings
23:58shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom
24:00which shall never be destroyed.
24:03And the kingdom shall not be left to other people,
24:05but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms
24:09and it shall stand forever.
24:12For as much as thou sawest that the stone
24:15was cut out of the mountain without hands,
24:18and that it break in pieces the iron, the brass,
24:20the clay, the silver, and the gold,
24:23the great God hath made known to the king
24:26what shall come to pass hereafter.
24:29And the dream is certain
24:31and the interpretation thereof sure.
24:38So as we see this image as it weakens in power
24:42from the gold at the head all the way to the total of clay,
24:48there is coming a time
24:49when God will destroy the image altogether.
24:53And the Bible tells us there is coming a time
24:56when God himself will establish a kingdom here on earth.
25:00As a matter of fact,
25:01many of you have heard me preach on this before
25:03when Jesus ascended into heaven in Acts chapter number one.
25:07Before he ever went into heaven,
25:08do you remember what his disciples asked him?
25:12Lord, will thou at this time
25:14restore again the kingdom to Israel?
25:18You see, years and years earlier,
25:20Nebuchadnezzar had a dream
25:23where the stone that was cut out of the image
25:26would destroy and break the image in pieces
25:28and that God would establish a kingdom here on earth.
25:35Now the image in all of its entirety
25:37is representative of the authority
25:39that different nations have
25:41concerning this world throughout history.
25:45And there's coming a time that the rock,
25:47which is representative of the stone,
25:49which is representative of the Lord Jesus Christ
25:51will destroy the image altogether.
25:55And of course, that's going to happen
25:57at the Battle of Armageddon Saturday night.
25:59We're gonna cover that in great detail.
26:02Now, there were a lot of other prophecies
26:04that had taken place as well
26:06that really sets the stage for the things
26:09which must shortly come to pass.
26:12One of the great prophecies of all of the Bible,
26:16and many of you already know this,
26:18is the regathering of the nation of Israel.
26:26In Ezekiel chapter number 37
26:29is perhaps the greatest prophecy
26:30concerning both the dispersion
26:32and the regathering of the nation of Israel.
26:37In verse number 11, just reading through number 14,
26:40the Bible says,
26:41then he said unto me,
26:41son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel.
26:45Behold, they say our bones are dried up,
26:48our hope is lost,
26:50we are cut off for our parts.
26:53Therefore prophesy and say unto them,
26:55thus saith the Lord God, behold, all my people.
26:58Now watch this next part.
27:00God said, I will open your graves
27:03and cause you to come up out of your graves
27:07and bring you into the land of Israel.
27:10And ye shall know that I am the Lord
27:12when I have opened your graves,
27:16O people, and brought you up out of your graves
27:18and shall put my spirit in you and ye shall live
27:21and I shall place you in your own land.
27:25Then shall you know that I, the Lord,
27:27have spoken it and performed it, saith the Lord.
27:31You see, in Ezekiel chapter number 37,
27:33again, we see what is known as
27:35the vision of the valley of dry bones.
27:39God starts out by showing Ezekiel
27:41a valley full of dry and rotten and decaying bones.
27:45And I remember when he asked the prophet,
27:47he asked Ezekiel, he said,
27:49son of man, can these bones live?
27:51And listen, if it was any of us
27:53that was asked that question,
27:55we'd look at those bones
27:56and we probably would say, there's no way.
27:59Ezekiel didn't say yes or no.
28:01The only thing Ezekiel said to God was,
28:03he said, thou knowest.
28:06In other words, if you say they can live, they can live.
28:09But if you say they can't live,
28:11then they can't live.
28:12That was a pretty smart answer.
28:15But the dry bones represented the dispersal of Israel
28:19into all the nations,
28:21which started around 70 AD
28:24when the Romans ransacked Jerusalem
28:27and destroyed the Jewish temple.
28:31Many of the Jews at that time would leave
28:34and then would leave
28:36and go to the different parts of the world.
28:38The Arabs would come in
28:40and settle in what is known today to be Palestine.
28:44Now, Palestine in Bible times
28:46is not the same Palestine as in the world of today.
28:50Don't get confused and don't think
28:52that the Gaza Strip was always inhabited by Arabs.
28:56During Bible times, the land of Palestine
28:58was inhabited primarily by Jewish people.
29:02But in AD 70, when Romans destroyed Jerusalem,
29:06listen, many of those Jews left.
29:09The Arabs came in from Iran and from Iraq
29:12and from those different places
29:14and then Romans would give that land to the Arab people.
29:19They didn't fight for it.
29:20They didn't earn it and that land never was theirs.
29:24But that's how those Palestinians
29:26that we see in the news today actually came into existence.
29:31But many of those Jews in that day
29:33were dispersed into many different nations.
29:37And then we fast forward throughout history
29:39and we come to World War II and Nazi Germany.
29:43And we see during World War II
29:45where there was always a universal goal
29:49to just exterminate the Jews altogether
29:52led by, as many of you know, Adolf Hitler.
29:57So the Jewish people at that time
29:59were truly in what the Bible defines
30:02as being in the graves of the old.
30:07But at the conclusion of World War II
30:10and the defeat of Adolf Hitler,
30:12God would honor his promise of bringing the Jewish people
30:16out of the graves of the earth
30:19and bring them back into their own land.
30:23And in 1948, and I'm gonna tell you something,
30:26this was a sovereign act of God.
30:29In 1948, the Jewish people,
30:32Israel was ruled as an independent nation
30:36for the Jewish people.
30:39Do you know today that there are more Jewish people
30:43in Israel right now than there has been
30:45in any other time of history?
30:51So we find in 1948 where we saw great prophecy fulfilled
30:55because God was faithful in bringing his people
30:58out of the graves of the earth
31:00and back into their own land.
31:03Again, it's not the Palestinians' land.
31:06It is their own land that was promised by God to them.
31:12Now, there were also some things that Jesus said
31:14about this before it ever happened.
31:18Now, I've heard people say, well, especially Jewish people,
31:22I've heard them say, well, I believe the Old Testament,
31:25but I don't believe the New Testament.
31:28But you remember when we started our study tonight
31:30of how the fulfillment of Bible prophecy
31:33validates scripture?
31:36I wanna show you some things that Jesus said
31:38concerning the dispersion and the regathering of Israel.
31:43And it's real important to notice this tonight.
31:46Now, watch this.
31:47In Matthew 24, verses one through two,
31:50the Bible says, Jesus went out and departed from the temple
31:54and his disciples came to him
31:56for to show him the buildings of the temple.
31:59Jesus said to them, watch this.
32:02Seeing on all these things,
32:05verily I say unto you, there shall not be left here
32:08one stone upon another that shall not be thrown down.
32:14Jesus died in AD 33.
32:17He died and was buried and rose again.
32:20The temple was destroyed in AD 70.
32:24Yet Jesus made a prophecy, a direct prophecy,
32:27they looked at all the beautiful buildings of the temple.
32:30Told his disciples, he said,
32:31well, there's not gonna be one stone left upon another.
32:35He said, it's all gonna be torn down.
32:38Jesus also predicted the scattering of Israel.
32:41Matthew 23, verses 37 and 38.
32:44O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets
32:47and stonest them which are sent unto thee.
32:50How often would I have gathered thy children together
32:53even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings
32:57and you would not.
32:59Watch this.
33:00Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
33:04That simply means empty.
33:07But then Jesus also predicted the regathering of Israel
33:10into their own land.
33:12In Matthew 24, verses 32 through 34, Jesus said this.
33:16Now learn a parable of the fig tree.
33:18When its branches yet tender and put forth leaves,
33:22ye know that summer is not.
33:24So likewise, ye, when ye shall see all these things,
33:27know that it is near, even at the doors.
33:31Verily I say unto you, watch this.
33:33This generation shall not pass
33:35till all these things be fulfilled.
33:39Now we know and we understand tonight
33:41that the fig tree is representative of the nation of Israel.
33:45The Jewish people would be dispersed,
33:48the temple destroyed.
33:50But again, in 1948, it would be replanted.
33:55And it would start to mature.
33:58And Israel would start to bear green leaves,
34:00simply meaning, watch this,
34:03that it would become a nation with its own land,
34:07with its own government, and with its own currency.
34:11That's the budding of the fig tree.
34:15But notice also that Jesus said this, watch this.
34:19He said, this generation,
34:22the future generation of Israel
34:24that would be replanted in their own land,
34:28not that current generation.
34:30He said, this generation shall not pass
34:34till all these things be fulfilled.
34:38Now Miss Judy, you've known me for the past several years.
34:40I've never been one to put a date
34:43on the coming of the Lord.
34:44I will never do that.
34:45The Bible says, no man knoweth the time or the hour.
34:49And it bothers me when people do stuff like that.
34:52But I wanna tell you something.
34:55The Bible says, this generation shall not pass
34:58till all these things be fulfilled.
35:00Israel became an independent nation in 1948.
35:04We are living in 2024.
35:06That is 76 years later.
35:11That generation will not pass
35:14till all these things be fulfilled.
35:16What does that mean?
35:17That means that right now
35:18we are coming to the end of that generation.
35:23Therefore, we are at the door.
35:29And we'll talk of course,
35:30a lot more about that tomorrow night.
35:33So there are many prophecies that have been fulfilled
35:36that validate the Bible as the word of God.
35:41But the greatest prophecy,
35:43and then this is my last one
35:44that I'm going to be through.
35:47The greatest prophecies that were ever fulfilled
35:51were the prophecies concerning the coming
35:53of the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ.
35:57Now I read something the other day
35:59that was probably one of the most ignorant things
36:01I've ever read in my life.
36:02And Ms. Cheryl, you know, I like to study things out
36:06and I wanna be accurate.
36:07That's my goal to be accurate.
36:08I wanna know truth and I wanna study it out.
36:11But I read a comment the other day,
36:13someone posted a question and they said,
36:16what prophecies did Jesus fulfill?
36:20And then someone posted right beneath that person
36:23and said, he didn't fulfill any prophecies.
36:28You know, I thought to myself for a second,
36:30how ignorant can a person be?
36:32Have you ever read the Bible?
36:33Have you ever even looked at the Bible
36:35and studied the Bible?
36:38Well, there were a lot of prophecies that Jesus fulfilled.
36:41I'm not going to go through all of them,
36:42but I do wanna give you a few of them.
36:45Number one, it was prophesied that Jesus
36:47would be born of a virgin in Isaiah 7, 14.
36:50Therefore, the Lord himself shall give you a sign.
36:52Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son
36:55and shall call his name Immanuel.
36:59In Genesis chapter three and verse number 15,
37:01the Bible says that when he was born,
37:03he would be the seed of the woman.
37:05That right there backs up the virgin birth
37:08because he's not the seed of man, he's the seed of a woman.
37:11He didn't have a human father.
37:13Genesis 3, 15, I'll put enmity between thee and the woman
37:16and between thy seed, watch this, and her seed.
37:19It shall bruise thy head and thou shalt bruise his heel.
37:23He was also despised and rejected by his own people.
37:26Isaiah 53 and verse number three,
37:28he is despised and rejected of men,
37:31a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
37:34And we hid as it were our faces from him.
37:37He was despised and we esteemed him not.
37:40Isaiah is making a reference to his own people, Israel,
37:45despising and rejecting the Messiah when he calls.
37:50And we prophesied that his death and his sacrifice
37:53would become an offering for sin.
37:55Isaiah 53 and verse number 10,
37:57yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him.
38:00He hath put him to grief.
38:02When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin,
38:04he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his day
38:07and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
38:12Now, right there, if I were talking to a scoffer
38:17or a monk or a skeptic, they would argue
38:21and they would say, well, those prophecies
38:23aren't talking about Jesus,
38:25they're talking about someone else.
38:29I'm gonna give you something right now
38:32that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt.
38:35There's no argument you can make.
38:38It proved beyond a shadow of a doubt
38:41that it was prophesied that Jesus Christ
38:43would come to this world.
38:47There's prophecies this morning that he would become pierced
38:51through his hands and his feet.
38:54I've got two.
38:56The first one was Psalm 22, 16,
38:58for dogs have compassed me,
39:00the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me,
39:01they pierced my hands and my feet.
39:04But it can't be David who wrote the Psalm
39:07because David never had his hands and his feet
39:09pierced a day in his life.
39:11Psalm 22 is Messianic.
39:14But we'll get away from that.
39:15The one I really wanna get to is, of course,
39:16my favorite one in all of the Bible.
39:19And to me, more than anything else,
39:21this proves not only the validity of scripture,
39:24but this proves that Jesus is exactly
39:27who he claims to be and much more.
39:30Zechariah chapter number 12 and verse number 10.
39:33Now this verse has been fulfilled in part,
39:37but yet there is still more to be fulfilled.
39:39Zechariah 12, 10.
39:41Now watch this.
39:42And again, if you're searching for truth
39:44or if you're on the fence
39:46and you don't know whether to believe the Bible,
39:48listen to this next verse.
39:52God said, Zechariah 12, verse number 10,
39:56through Zechariah, he said,
39:58and I will pour upon the house of David
40:01and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
40:03the spirit of grace and of supplications.
40:06Now, again, this is God speaking.
40:09You know, it's not the prophet speaking.
40:12And God said, watch this, they, which is Israel,
40:17they shall look upon me whom they have pierced.
40:23You mean that God is saying that Israel
40:26will look upon him who they pierced?
40:28Israel pierced God?
40:31That's what he's saying.
40:33God said, they shall look upon me whom they have pierced
40:39and there shall be one for him
40:41as one mourneth for his only son
40:43and shall be a bitterness for him
40:45as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
40:48So God is saying right here
40:50that he has been pierced by Israel
40:53and there's coming a day when Israel will look
40:55upon the very God that they have pierced.
40:59Tonight, there are hundreds of Jews in Israel
41:05who gather at the wailing wall, weeping and crying.
41:09I believe that they're sincere,
41:11weeping and crying for their Messiah to come
41:14and for Israel to be delivered.
41:23And the Bible tells us tonight,
41:25this is the most wonderful thing,
41:27that he is gonna come.
41:29Their prayers are going to be answered.
41:32But you know what they're gonna find out when he comes?
41:37They're gonna find out that their Messiah
41:39had already been pierced.
41:43That's not according to Brother Robbie,
41:44that's according to the word of God.
41:47They're going to receive their Messiah
41:48but he's already been pierced.
41:51They're gonna look upon his hands and his feet.
41:52Now you say, Brother Robbie,
41:55when did the Jewish Messiah get pierced?
42:01Well, I'll tell you when he got pierced.
42:02The very God of heaven became pierced around 2000 years ago
42:07when he went to the cross of Calvary
42:10and he made his soul an offering for sin.
42:12He died and was buried and he rose again.
42:16And today, right now, he is sitting at the right hand
42:19of God ever living to make intercession for us.
42:23But something I want you to notice in this scripture
42:25in Zechariah chapter 12 and verse number 10,
42:28this scripture was only partially fulfilled.
42:32Listen, he was pierced.
42:33That was the part that was fulfilled.
42:36Jesus was pierced on Calvary, on the cross.
42:42The part that was fulfilled.
42:44But the part that still has yet to come
42:46is Israel hasn't looked on him
42:48and received him as their Messiah.
42:51But you know what?
42:52According to the Bible,
42:53there's coming a day when they will.
42:56And we're going to see that more Saturday night.
43:03So tonight, as we start our prophecy conference,
43:09listen, if you're here tonight and you've never been saved,
43:13the Lord Jesus Christ tonight invites you
43:15to come and receive him as Lord and Savior.
43:19If you're here tonight and you don't know for sure
43:21that heaven's your home,
43:22I want to ask you that during the time of invitation,
43:25would you slip out and come?
43:26Now you might be here tonight and you might say,
43:27well, brother, I don't believe you can know for sure.
43:31I want to give you a word of scripture.
43:32Now we've proved the validity of the scripture tonight
43:38and we've proved it through the fulfillment of prophecy.
43:42I want to give you another verse of scripture tonight.
43:44One of my favorite verses in all of the New Testament.
43:47First John five and verse number 13.
43:49Now watch this.
43:51These things have I written unto you
43:53that believe on the name of the Son of God,
43:57that you may know that you have eternal life
44:01and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God.
44:04You see, God doesn't want us to go into eternity
44:06hoping we've been good enough.
44:08He doesn't want us to gamble with our soul.
44:12Listen, Jesus didn't die on the cross
44:14so you can hope to get in one day.
44:18He died so that you could know for sure.
44:20You say, brother, I mean, what can I do to know for sure?
44:23All you have to do tonight is call
44:25and simply give Jesus your life and your heart.
44:28Make a decision if you'd like to follow him
44:31and then you can leave here rejoicing,
44:32knowing that your sins have been forgiven
44:34and that you're bound for heaven.
44:36So I'd like everyone, if you wouldn't stand
44:38with your heads bowed and your eyes closed,
44:40the prophecies of the past.
44:43Every head bowed, every eye closed.
44:44I'm going to have a word of prayer
44:45and then we're going to have an invitation.
44:48Father in heaven again.
