Fire lit up the early morning sky in Caanan, as Dave's Discount Hardware in Tobago was destroyed by flames. The blaze started on the ground floor which housed the hardware but the business owner's family lived on the top floor and they lost everything.

The efforts of fire officers were hampered by a lack of water. As reporter Elizabeth Williams tells us, losses have been estimated at 20 million dollars.
