00:03:24Today is Wednesday, July 17th, and I'm going to say it right now, boys, the Home Run Derby
00:03:29is officially dead, and here's why.
00:03:32We've talked about it in the past.
00:03:33The Home Run Derby has lost its luster.
00:03:36The Juice Ball Home Run Derby, the way the format was set.
00:03:40The Home Run Derby is dead because all it took was one horrific national anthem to steal
00:03:45the night.
00:03:46Yeah, that was a tough way to get it started.
00:03:48Very tough way.
00:03:49And that's the story, though, of the Home Run Derby, was that national anthem.
00:03:52I mean, Donald Trump, getting his ear shot off, maybe he had the right idea, didn't have
00:03:57to listen to that.
00:03:58Oh, man.
00:03:59That was bad.
00:04:00I didn't tweet that out last night.
00:04:01Oh, good.
00:04:02I didn't.
00:04:03I thought about it, and then I saw all the memes happen, and I was like, okay, now it's
00:04:06a safe space to do it.
00:04:07Yeah, it's the Klay Thompson ear bleeding.
00:04:09It's the ear bleeding.
00:04:10It was horrific.
00:04:11It was.
00:04:12Who was it?
00:04:13It was awful.
00:04:14I don't know, but apparently she's been nominated for several Grammy Awards.
00:04:18What?
00:04:19Yeah.
00:04:20It seemed like a prank in real time.
00:04:21It really did.
00:04:22And it also, it was so bad, it was one of those videos, if you pulled it up on your
00:04:27phone and started playing it, people would look and be like, are you watching porn?
00:04:30Yeah.
00:04:31Because there was some shrieks in there.
00:04:33Ingrid Andress.
00:04:34Oh, Ingrid, that's tough.
00:04:36Yeah, and then the end, when she tried to really do something at the end with the scoops,
00:04:41it was awful.
00:04:42The Home Run Derby itself stunk too.
00:04:43It was bad.
00:04:44I mean, there's countless ways that you can improve the Home Run Derby.
00:04:47We just want to see all the dingers.
00:04:49Yeah.
00:04:50We want to see the ball hit the bat.
00:04:51We want to see the ball sail.
00:04:52We want to see it land, and then we want to wait for the next pitch.
00:04:56Yes.
00:04:57Is that so hard to do?
00:04:58It shouldn't be that hard to fix this.
00:04:59No.
00:05:00Shout out the Oscar Hernandez.
00:05:01Yeah, the Oscar Hernandez.
00:05:02Hell Oscar.
00:05:03Yeah.
00:05:04Had a great night.
00:05:06Home Run Derby.
00:05:07Pete Alonzo, bad night.
00:05:09And that's all he cares about.
00:05:10Yep.
00:05:11But yeah, it was, I don't know.
00:05:13I wish, Home Run Derby used to mean something, man.
00:05:17We sound like old men, but I feel like it's the truth.
00:05:19It is the truth.
00:05:20I think our idea that we had last year was one of the best, which is if you test positive
00:05:24for steroids, you can get out of your suspension by winning the Home Run Derby.
00:05:27By winning the Home Run Derby, yeah.
00:05:29Breaking moves.
00:05:30Give us a cow, Max.
00:05:32Is that woo?
00:05:33Woo.
00:05:34Woo.
00:05:35So we already taped earlier today, but the National Anthem, Ingrid Andrus released a
00:05:36statement saying, I'm not going to bullshit y'all.
00:05:37I was drunk last night.
00:05:38I'm checking myself into facility today to get the help I need.
00:05:39That was not me last night.
00:05:40I apologize to MLB, all the fans in this country.
00:05:41I love so much for that rendition.
00:05:42I'll let y'all know how rehab is.
00:05:43I hear it's super fun.
00:05:44Hopefully, I'll see y'all later.
00:05:45Bye.
00:05:46Bye.
00:05:47Bye.
00:05:48Bye.
00:05:49Bye.
00:05:50Bye.
00:05:51Bye.
00:05:52Bye.
00:05:53Bye.
00:05:54Bye.
00:05:55Bye.
00:05:56Bye.
00:05:57Bye.
00:05:58Bye.
00:05:59Bye.
00:06:00Bye.
00:06:01Hopefully, she gets better.
00:06:03Also, incredible move because now this goes down.
00:06:06If she gets better, it goes down as the funniest, coolest National Anthem ever.
00:06:10This is how I knew to turn my life around because I made America weep.
00:06:14So yeah.
00:06:15I hope she's good.
00:06:16She says, see you in rehab.
00:06:17Here it's fun.
00:06:19So I don't know if that's accurate or not.
00:06:22I don't know who she should talk to about rehab.
00:06:26If I screwed up the National Anthem, this would be a good PR 101 move though.
00:06:30It's always a great move just whenever you screw anything up to say, I'm seeking treatment.
00:06:34Right.
00:06:35I need to work on myself.
00:06:37I'm seeking treatment.
00:06:38But yeah, that was, I mean, at least now we have an explanation for it because that would
00:06:41have been bad for her singing career if that was actually her.
00:06:45Yeah.
00:06:46And also in the actual Home Run Derby, Max, was there a controversy in your Phillies guy
00:06:52losing the semifinals?
00:06:53Yeah.
00:06:54Are you talking about the foul ball?
00:06:55Well, I'm talking about that and also the format.
00:07:00I don't know.
00:07:01I don't know.
00:07:02I heard a rumor that they did a different format than they were supposed to do.
00:07:06I don't know if that's true.
00:07:07Oh, I didn't know that.
00:07:08I did not know that.
00:07:09Yeah.
00:07:10And the foul ball didn't really seem that controversial, but I didn't hear that.
00:07:13So I just kind of guessed.
00:07:14Oh, well, he had a home run.
00:07:16His last swing of like the regular round was close to being a home run, but it was pretty
00:07:20clearly foul.
00:07:21I think some Philly people thought that it was supposed to be a 60 second swing off in
00:07:25the semifinals.
00:07:27But MLB changed it to just what, three slams?
00:07:29They screwed Schwarber the other year.
00:07:30They did.
00:07:31Yeah.
00:07:32Yeah.
00:07:33So they got it out for Philly.
00:07:34Okay.
00:07:35That was breaking news.
00:07:36Back to what we were talking about.
00:07:37And then we have the All-Star Game, which we'll choose our own adventure because we're
00:07:40going to hit some dingers tonight.
00:07:42Paul Skeens was electric.
00:07:44He was.
00:07:45Shout out MLB, by the way, for actually doing the right thing and having Paul Skeens start
00:07:49this game.
00:07:50Manfred said that if they didn't make the right decision, they would have stepped in.
00:07:53So apparently the manager made the call.
00:07:54That's a, but then that's Rob Manfred trying to get credit for something that he, that's
00:07:59bullshit.
00:08:00I would have done it too.
00:08:01Is what Rob Manfred said.
00:08:02They did.
00:08:03They screwed it on the AL side because the AL future, AL Cy Young, Tariq Scoogle is not
00:08:06starting and he is going to be the AL Cy Young.
00:08:10As that guy sent me the envelope.
00:08:11What are you laughing about?
00:08:12I said per you in Detroit.
00:08:13Yeah.
00:08:14No, well not per me.
00:08:15Per the guy who gave me the envelope that said, bet him right now.
00:08:18He is the odds on favor right now.
00:08:20Nice.
00:08:21Yeah.
00:08:22So he's having a great year.
00:08:23Uh, did the NL win?
00:08:25How many years in a row is it?
00:08:27The NL?
00:08:28Nine and one AL, I think.
00:08:29In the last 10?
00:08:30Yeah.
00:08:31The NL did not win sadly tonight.
00:08:33Damn it.
00:08:34It's hard to win on the road.
00:08:36It's hard to win on the road.
00:08:37Hostile crowd.
00:08:38All right.
00:08:39So that's, that's another, another loss for the NL.
00:08:40Brutal.
00:08:41You know what?
00:08:42I'm going to say the NL won.
00:08:44That way we can cover both our bases.
00:08:45You think they broke the streak this year?
00:08:47I don't know what the streak is at right now.
00:08:49What is it at?
00:08:50NL All-Star.
00:08:51It's just been dominant.
00:08:52Losing streak.
00:08:53I do think they won one, uh, oh no, they won, they, they, they won one.
00:08:59They won last year.
00:09:00Right?
00:09:01I think the streak was over last year.
00:09:02It was nine games in nine years in a row.
00:09:06The Midsummer Classic.
00:09:07Who could forget?
00:09:08Yeah.
00:09:09They slapped it.
00:09:10Yeah.
00:09:11How could we forget last year in the NL won?
00:09:13So AL's going to win.
00:09:14AL.
00:09:15AL for sure.
00:09:16AL is going to win.
00:09:17Max is looking it up right now.
00:09:20By the way, we have our interns starting on Wednesday, correct?
00:09:23Tomorrow?
00:09:24Today?
00:09:25Today.
00:09:26Today.
00:09:27Very excited to introduce him to you.
00:09:28He's going to have to, because, because we, we obviously, you know, Jake left.
00:09:32We, we need a, someone who's on their computer who's going to just be like, and this guy,
00:09:36by the way, he's not going to be able to do that, but he's going to at least give us moments
00:09:40where we're like, okay.
00:09:41Based on his past, I don't think we should allow him near a computer.
00:09:44Yes, that's correct.
00:09:46We'll have him tell the story when he gets debuted on Friday.
00:09:48We'll, we'll, we'll, we'll introduce him to the audience.
00:09:51And he, he had one story that, that basically hooked us for life based on content.
00:09:56But the, yeah, so the NL won last year.
00:09:58Who could forget?
00:09:59We obviously knew that.
00:10:01But the AL had won nine in a row before that.
00:10:04So the streak is over.
00:10:05AL's back on top.
00:10:06AL's back on top and a new streak begins right now.
00:10:08Oh, maybe a new streak starts with the NL.
00:10:10I'm back on the NL.
00:10:11You think the NL, it's flipped?
00:10:12This has been some really interesting talk.
00:10:14Bigger bases?
00:10:15BFT, before we get to, uh, our Mount Rushmore and our hot seat, cool throne, I was, uh,
00:10:21I was, you know, cruising around the internet trying to find some, some sports stuff going
00:10:26on.
00:10:27This is the deadest week in the sports calendar by far.
00:10:30And that means that ESPN will do something, uh, that, you know, remember when they ranked
00:10:34States I believe, was it, was it States?
00:10:37Did they do States?
00:10:38Cause I've got a, I've ranked States before.
00:10:41I can't remember.
00:10:42States.
00:10:43SVP did something back in the, in the day where it was either States or whatever.
00:10:48Who's now, who's now was one of them.
00:10:50They're doing the top a hundred.
00:10:51That was what I was going to bring up.
00:10:52So top 100 professional athletes since 2000 and they released, uh, numbers 51 through
00:10:5860 today.
00:10:59American Pharaoh, Alex Ovechkin, 54.
00:11:03Okay.
00:11:04How do we feel about that?
00:11:05Also, which makes us respect hockey.
00:11:08That one's Derek, this is a great hat tip to ESPN and incredible engagement troll move.
00:11:17They ranked Derek Jeter 53 and that would get people very upset.
00:11:22But then you remember he won the majority of his championships in the 90s in the 90s.
00:11:27So that was a, that was a savvy, savvy move by them.
00:11:30Takes out the meat of his career.
00:11:31Yeah.
00:11:32They should have done like MJ 100.
00:11:33That's bullshit.
00:11:35That's bullshit.
00:11:36Uh, Ovi is so far down.
00:11:37Like Hank said, it's disrespectful to hockey.
00:11:39It's disrespectful to the entire country of Russia.
00:11:42The man is about to surpass Wayne Gretzky for the top goal scorer of all time in the
00:11:47NHL.
00:11:48What hockey players would be above them?
00:11:49I don't know, but they also ranked, he was above two soccer players.
00:11:53Why do we have soccer in this?
00:11:54Luca Modric and Alexia Patelis.
00:11:57Okay.
00:11:58Yeah.
00:11:59It's garbage.
00:12:00Why would we, JJ Watt 58 that's got to make you feel a little better.
00:12:03Yeah.
00:12:04JJ Watt, he should be higher though.
00:12:05No, that's what I'm saying.
00:12:06It should make you feel better about Ovechkin because JJ Watt is very, very good.
00:12:10These lists are designed to make you mad.
00:12:11Yeah.
00:12:12That's what they exist for.
00:12:13It's like, oh, they have track and field.
00:12:14When Apple did their top 10 albums of all time, I think they had Frank Ocean ahead of
00:12:18Stevie Wonder.
00:12:19Yeah.
00:12:20This is a crazy list.
00:12:22They, they, they've gone every sport.
00:12:24There's so, there's more soccer and track and Sean White's on there.
00:12:28Mookie Betts, Hank 73.
00:12:30Great player.
00:12:31I don't think there's going to be a, a single, uh, Bryce Harper's 79.
00:12:38Yeah.
00:12:39These are Chris Paul, 83.
00:12:40Yeah.
00:12:41These are just made to make you mad.
00:12:42We should do ours.
00:12:43Oh, I have a prediction.
00:12:45We should do our top 100.
00:12:47I have a prediction.
00:12:48Yeah.
00:12:49I think ESPN is going to put Serena number one.
00:12:52Oh, just to make people mad.
00:12:55Tiger's got to be very high.
00:12:57Tiger's going to be up there, but Tiger also started in the nineties.
00:13:00That's true.
00:13:01But his, the masters when, yeah, dominant masters, but the Tiger slam was in the 2000s.
00:13:05Rory was 93.
00:13:06Yeah.
00:13:07I think you're right.
00:13:08I think they'll do Serena.
00:13:09They're going to go like Serena one.
00:13:12Um, and then like, uh, like the rest of the top 10 is going to be the U S women's national
00:13:17team.
00:13:18Yeah.
00:13:19American Pharaoh should be top 10.
00:13:20Flight line.
00:13:21Yeah.
00:13:22Flight line.
00:13:23Flight line should be number one.
00:13:24Conor McDavid's 98 and Ed Reed, Charles Woodson, 100.
00:13:28Okay.
00:13:29So yeah, this is going to make us mad.
00:13:31Yeah.
00:13:32That's fine.
00:13:33They've now hooked me.
00:13:34They've hooked me into it.
00:13:35I got to see, do you think they'll do Serena over like Tom Brady?
00:13:36Cause Tom Brady also has the perfect, uh, his, his career was literally the last 20
00:13:43years.
00:13:44Yeah.
00:13:45It started 2001.
00:13:46Right.
00:13:47Yeah.
00:13:48It should be Tom Brady, Serena duking it out for number one overall.
00:13:49And LeBron as well.
00:13:50LeBron also was, so it's, it should be Brady, LeBron, Serena, but it will be Serena LeBron
00:13:56Brady.
00:13:57Maybe Sachin Tendulkar.
00:13:58The cricket player.
00:14:00Yeah.
00:14:01Yeah.
00:14:02That could throw him in there.
00:14:03This will be, this will be spicy.
00:14:04We're how high does the homes go?
00:14:05I mean, shout out to ESPN for figuring out a way to fill up July.
00:14:08Yeah.
00:14:09Adrian Beltran is 52.
00:14:11This right now today, this is when we should be talking about the NBA NFL debate.
00:14:16Yep.
00:14:17This exact day right now, Austin Rivers should have gone on McAfee show and dropped that
00:14:22bomb on us.
00:14:23Yep.
00:14:24Got us through two weeks.
00:14:25This is a hot dog.
00:14:26It's a sandwich.
00:14:27We wasted two weeks.
00:14:28Yeah.
00:14:29We wasted two weeks of playoffs and NHL playoffs when we could just make a meal out of that.
00:14:33We said it in real time too.
00:14:34Yeah.
00:14:35This is not when we're supposed to do this.
00:14:36We're supposed to wait, but yeah, I'm hooked now.
00:14:39Now the real question is going to be who is going to be the best male tennis player on
00:14:43the list.
00:14:44Is it Federer?
00:14:45It should be Djokovic.
00:14:46Djokovic.
00:14:47I think we can agree.
00:14:48Nadal last.
00:14:49Yeah.
00:14:50Nadal for sure.
00:14:51Last.
00:14:52It'll be Federer.
00:14:53I think it's just bullshit because Djokovic worked him multiple times and has more.
00:15:00Can you beat Alcatraz?
00:15:03He's 16 years older.
00:15:04I know this is just going to happen to me like everyone.
00:15:07It happened with Federer and Djokovic are a lot closer in age though.
00:15:10Are they going to have any drivers on there?
00:15:12Are they going to have any like F1 guys on the list?
00:15:14Yeah.
00:15:15Ever stopping?
00:15:16Lewis Hamilton.
00:15:17Hamilton.
00:15:18Yeah.
00:15:19Yeah.
00:15:20Lewis Hamilton.
00:15:21Sir Lewis Hamilton.
00:15:22Yeah.
00:15:23Are you Hank quick check in?
00:15:25Are you okay with Jalen Brown and Derek White?
00:15:28Yeah.
00:15:29Yeah.
00:15:30Why?
00:15:31Because they're NBA champions.
00:15:33There was a little jab going back and forth because Derek White got on the team.
00:15:37Jalen Brown was like, I'm not on the team.
00:15:39And he basically was like, this is bullshit.
00:15:41But they're also teammates.
00:15:43Yeah.
00:15:44Not afraid of you or your resources.
00:15:45Jalen Brown said the first thing he did was call Derek White and tell him he loves him.
00:15:49Love that.
00:15:50That's the first thing that he did?
00:15:51When he woke up that day?
00:15:52When he saw the news.
00:15:53Didn't take a piss?
00:15:54When he saw the news.
00:15:56Also Derek White is the perfect fit and we like Derek White.
00:16:01He's the perfect fit in this, on this team that he's going to go and just be a really
00:16:05good teammate.
00:16:06And like you're the 12th guy now.
00:16:08Not that he won't play, but you want that, right?
00:16:11Right.
00:16:12Bench experience.
00:16:13Like if you added Kyrie or Jalen Brown, it might be a little bit different.
00:16:15Correct.
00:16:16It might not want to be the 12th guy.
00:16:18It'll be interesting to see in the top 10, how many of those are Nike athletes on the
00:16:21ESPN list?
00:16:23That's very interesting.
00:16:24And start connecting those dots there.
00:16:26That's very interesting.
00:16:27And it can't just be because Nike has the best athletes on the roster.
00:16:30It's got to be because Nike's making the call.
00:16:32Yeah.
00:16:33Yeah.
00:16:34Okay.
00:16:35Should we do Hot Seat Cool Throne and then get to our Mount Rushmore?
00:16:37Yeah.
00:16:38Again, the worst day in sports calendar.
00:16:41I'd agree with that.
00:16:42And the All-Star game, it is sad because I feel like when we were kids, maybe kids liked
00:16:46the All-Star game.
00:16:48Maybe it's just old people never liked the All-Star game.
00:16:51Yeah.
00:16:52Although, no.
00:16:53So I think the All-Star game got eroded.
00:16:56The All-Star game still, the MLB All-Star game still is the best All-Star game by far
00:17:01because you can't half-ass throwing 99 miles an hour.
00:17:04So it's still the best.
00:17:07I did.
00:17:08I noticed it was the dumbest rule in sports.
00:17:10I did like when it decided home field advantage.
00:17:13And the All-Star game lost a little bit of its luster when interleague play happened.
00:17:18Yeah.
00:17:19Because that was the cool part of the All-Star game.
00:17:22You'll never get to see Paul Skeens versus Aaron Judge.
00:17:26They probably are going to play next week.
00:17:27I think the All-Star game fell off for me when Bud Selig ruled it a tie.
00:17:31That too.
00:17:32That one year when he just stood up in the stands and he waved his arms and said, no,
00:17:35we're done playing right now.
00:17:36That was a bad one.
00:17:37And growing up, George W. Bush, our former president, his dream job when he was a kid
00:17:42and even as an adult was to be commissioner of Major League Baseball.
00:17:47If George W. Bush had become commissioner of Major League Baseball, the world would
00:17:50be so much better.
00:17:52Baseball would be so much better.
00:17:54Say what you want about the man.
00:17:55The fucking All-Star game is not ending in a tie with George W. Bush.
00:17:58What if that meant Bud Selig was president though?
00:18:00Okay.
00:18:01Could have been worse.
00:18:02It could have been way worse.
00:18:03Yeah.
00:18:04Way worse.
00:18:05No one gets a bigger pass than Bud Selig.
00:18:07Bud Selig's terrible.
00:18:08I know.
00:18:09And you feel like he just, everyone just kind of forgets Bud Selig sucked.
00:18:14He's also, the name Bud does a lot of favors for you.
00:18:18If your name's Bud, people like you in general.
00:18:21He was the-
00:18:22It's right there in the name.
00:18:23He was the least Bud of all time.
00:18:25You look at Bud Selig, that's not his name.
00:18:27He's enemy.
00:18:28Yeah.
00:18:29He's like an Ernie Selig.
00:18:32Yeah.
00:18:33Ernie would have been a good name for Bud.
00:18:34Yeah.
00:18:35Ernie Selig would have worked.
00:18:37And then I remember he released something, they were doing like a profile on Bud Selig
00:18:41and he was like, yeah, I get my haircut once a week, every Thursday at the same time.
00:18:46Nice try, Bud.
00:18:47That was not your hair, buddy.
00:18:49No, no.
00:18:50You couldn't pull a fast one on that.
00:18:52Okay.
00:18:53Let's do Hot Seat Cool Throne.

00:19:45It's a chill summer.
00:19:46It's Coors Light.
00:19:47Hank.
00:19:48My Hot Seat's Jalen Brown.
00:19:50Oh, why?
00:19:51Oh, that's why you didn't want to skirt it.
00:19:53I thought that's what you were bringing up, but I don't know why he's on the Hot Seat.
00:19:56He's really just spitting facts, but you know, it's headlines that he probably doesn't want
00:20:01to be involved in.
00:20:02He was at the Celtics Summer League game last night.
00:20:06It was Celtics Lakers.
00:20:07So they were playing Brawny Junior.
00:20:09Brawny Junior is on the Lakers, too.
00:20:13Oh, yeah.
00:20:14I guess people call LeBron Brawny.
00:20:16No.
00:20:17No.
00:20:18Brawny is his son's name, his given name.
00:20:21It's in the box score.
00:20:22That'd be wild if Brawny had a kid who was also.
00:20:24Is that true?
00:20:26We talked about that a couple of weeks ago, how it pisses me off that his in the box score,
00:20:30you can look it up and it says B. James.
00:20:32It's like his name is LeBron James.
00:20:34All right.
00:20:35So Brawny Senior, he was watching Brawny Senior and they showed him on the sidelines talking
00:20:40to his girlfriend and you could read his lips and he said, I don't think Brawny is a pro.
00:20:46And then his girlfriend said, yeah, he'll play on the G League, though.
00:20:50And he said, I don't think so.
00:20:53Because of his name, he's going to be playing for the Lakers.
00:20:55This is all lips being read.
00:20:58Yeah.
00:20:59The G League.
00:21:00You could you could definitely say he says, I don't think Brawny is a pro.
00:21:02And then the girlfriend definitely says, like, you can see her say G League.
00:21:07I couldn't really tell what he said after that.
00:21:09But I think the way that he said, I don't think Brawny is a pro, isn't that bad for
00:21:12him?
00:21:13No.
00:21:14It's also not wrong.
00:21:15Yeah, it's not wrong.
00:21:16No.
00:21:17And also, it's not like he was clowning him.
00:21:18He was like, I don't think this guy's a pro.
00:21:19Yeah.
00:21:20He's not a pro.
00:21:21Which is probably an accuracy.
00:21:22Unless we're talking about Call of Duty, in which case, shout out to Brawny, won the Call
00:21:25of Duty.
00:21:26That was my cool throne.
00:21:27Yeah.
00:21:28Ten thousand dollars cash.
00:21:29Yeah.
00:21:30I mean, he won another Summer League tournament, which that wasn't the craziest part.
00:21:34I mean, if one, if you're Brawny, you can't win that.
00:21:37Like that's just you're just going to get made fun of the fact that you're very good
00:21:41at video games and you're not good at basketball to Grant Williams is still playing in Summer
00:21:47League.
00:21:48No, he beat out Brawny for the Summer League title in Call of Duty.
00:21:55He's probably just there, though.
00:21:57You think so?
00:21:58He's not playing something.
00:21:59Only two years.
00:22:00That's what I thought, too, but I saw his name and I was like, why is Grant Williams
00:22:03there?
00:22:04There's got to be a different Grant Williams.
00:22:05There's a lot of Williams's.
00:22:06I haven't learned.
00:22:07I'm almost positive it's Grant Williams.
00:22:10That's true.
00:22:11We have learned there's a lot of Williams.
00:22:14That would be crazy if he's playing.
00:22:15It's impossible.
00:22:16All right.
00:22:17I don't see him on the roster, so maybe he's just there?
00:22:20Yeah.
00:22:21So he's just hanging out?
00:22:22So Jalen Brown.
00:22:23That's what he does.
00:22:24Okay.
00:22:25Yeah.
00:22:26I guess he's just hanging out.
00:22:27Jalen Brown tweeted out, it's a flex to have your son alongside you in the NBA.
00:22:30It reflects greatness and longevity.
00:22:32Brownie has all the tools around to be successful.
00:22:34I look forward to watching his growth.
00:22:37So he's kind of walking it back a little bit there.
00:22:40Okay.
00:22:41So that's what his statement is right now.
00:22:43But his statement is a flex.
00:22:44He's basically just being like, yeah, LeBron.
00:22:46Yeah.
00:22:47But he's not a pro.
00:22:48It's all LeBron's ego.
00:22:50That's what this whole thing is.
00:22:53I don't want to get into the...
00:22:55You know what?
00:22:56It's non-sports week.
00:22:58But some people could argue that LeBron, when he realized that he wasn't going to win six
00:23:01titles and match MJ, he's like, what else can I try to get that they'll say in my goat
00:23:07conversation and having Brownie, playing with Bronnie will be there even though it means
00:23:12nothing.
00:23:13MJ's son never played in the league, right?
00:23:15That's facts.
00:23:16But it means nothing, but that's exactly what's going on.
00:23:19What was Angel Reese's reaction?
00:23:20Because she was sitting next to Jalen Brown's girlfriend.
00:23:23Her mouth is kind of blocked, but she kind of says like, he's not.
00:23:27You can see, play the clip.
00:23:29You can see her say something like kind of be like, yeah, no, he's not.
00:23:33I don't think Brownie's a pro.
00:23:35Yeah.
00:23:36See, she shakes her head.
00:23:37Yeah.
00:23:38She's not an attractive lady.
00:23:39Angel Reese is deep in her phone.
00:23:41She's a big phone girl.
00:23:43So I have to go back to this for a second, but Grant Williams is just playing Call of
00:23:46Duty Summer League?
00:23:49I got to see this.
00:23:50What is going on?
00:23:51They probably asked Grant Williams, hey, we need another player in this tournament.
00:23:55Can you come out and do it in conjunction with the Summer League?
00:23:57I guess.
00:23:58Well, he's on, like we said, he's the VP of the Players Association.
00:24:01It's very, it's just very confusing.
00:24:02No, Jalen Brown's the VP of the- It's very confusing that he was in this tournament,
00:24:07but okay.
00:24:08And Brownie did earn $10,000 for winning the tourney.
00:24:11Yeah.
00:24:12So does that count against the cap?
00:24:13I don't know.
00:24:14I don't know either.
00:24:15So the Call of Duty thing, that was only for Summer League players, right?
00:24:17It's not like Brownie is a world-class Call of Duty player.
00:24:21Apparently not, because Grant Williams is right there.
00:24:23He's not playing in Summer League.
00:24:25Yeah.
00:24:26You can't win this.
00:24:27You cannot win this if you're Brownie.
00:24:29Wow, he's cracked.
00:24:30He's young.
00:24:31Dude.
00:24:32He's in phase, dude.
00:24:33The jokes aren't- Phase up.
00:24:34He's been so bad.
00:24:36Phase up.
00:24:37Now, Hank, did he get into phase on his own merits, or did he get in because his dad's
00:24:40LeBron James?
00:24:41No, he's like a sniper trickshotter.
00:24:43So his godfather's Nick Merckx.
00:24:45Yeah.
00:24:46So he's really good.
00:24:47He got drafted?
00:24:48Yeah.
00:24:49And by the way, I did double check.
00:24:51If you go on ESPN, it is B.James, and he was one for five, O for three from three-pointer.
00:24:58B. Hamas.
00:24:59B. Hamas.
00:25:00Yes.
00:25:01B. Hamas.
00:25:02Okay.
00:25:03So Jalen Brown, I have no problem with Jalen Brown saying this.
00:25:07This is why I ultimately, this whole entire thing, I feel awful for Brownie.
00:25:12I really do.
00:25:13Because he knows guys are saying this, and he knows that this is going to be said in
00:25:18the locker room, and it's going to be said when he's going up against another team.
00:25:22Everyone's going to look at him and be like, you're only here because of your dad, which
00:25:26I'm not saying he doesn't deserve to be there because of his dad, because LeBron James done
00:25:29a ton for the NBA, and he's been the best player for the last 20 years.
00:25:33But it has to suck deep down to be like, everyone's talking about me in this way.
00:25:38That does suck.
00:25:39That part sucks, but I don't feel bad for him because he is in the NBA.
00:25:42I know.
00:25:43He got an NBA contract.
00:25:44He gets to play in NBA games.
00:25:46He's a Los Angeles Laker.
00:25:48If he didn't want all the stuff that goes along with it, all you have to do is say,
00:25:51you know what, dad?
00:25:52Let's be realistic.
00:25:53I'm not an NBA player.
00:25:54I don't know why he didn't go back to college.
00:25:55Yeah.
00:25:56It would have been just as fun.
00:25:57It would have been great.
00:25:58Yeah.
00:25:59Cool Thrones, Victor Holland.
00:26:00Yeah.
00:26:01You guys ready to get deep?
00:26:02Yeah.
00:26:03Let's get deep.
00:26:04Get deep on me.
00:26:05All right.
00:26:06So this is from Dylan Dethier, who is a writer for Golf Magazine.
00:26:12Another Trump joke?
00:26:13D-E-T-H-I-E-R.
00:26:14Okay.
00:26:15Dethier.
00:26:16Sure.
00:26:17Dethier.
00:26:18He said, what's on Victor Holland's mind?
00:26:22A lot about the golf swing.
00:26:23Plus this, and this is a quote from Victor Holland.
00:26:27What do you think happens after we die?
00:26:29We don't know.
00:26:30The establishment will say your neurons will stop firing.
00:26:32Your body will rot.
00:26:33Okay.
00:26:34The establishment?
00:26:35That's one explanation.
00:26:37But if you look at our ancestors, there's a huge culture that goes into preparing for
00:26:40the afterlife.
00:26:41Were they just idiots or were they onto something?
00:26:43Did this guy just discover religion?
00:26:45I'm just curious to find out.
00:26:46We've gotten sold that we have all the answers, but there's just so much we don't know.
00:26:50I find those questions super motivating, and I just want to figure it out.
00:26:53Okay.
00:26:54Yeah.
00:26:55I think his mind is...
00:26:56I don't know how focused he is on the open this week.
00:26:58Just asking questions.
00:27:00What do you think happens after we die, Hank?
00:27:02Reincarnated into a different animal.
00:27:05What animal?
00:27:07It's different for every person, but an animal where you can't speak, so you can't share
00:27:11your knowledge.
00:27:12Oh, so you just have to exist with all your knowledge that you have?
00:27:16You would be a moth because you'd just fly directly at that lighthouse.
00:27:19Yeah.
00:27:20Yeah.
00:27:21Or a whale.
00:27:22So Victor Hovland's just sitting around with this in his brain right now?
00:27:26They're like, yeah, what's going on?
00:27:27How are you getting prepared for the US Open, Victor?
00:27:30And he was just like, what happens after we die?
00:27:31I think what happens after you die is you get eaten by worms.
00:27:35We all just become worms.
00:27:37So this guy, this is not a championship mentality that he's in.
00:27:40I don't think so.
00:27:41When you're entering a major championship week, you don't...
00:27:42Or maybe it is.
00:27:43Questioning your own...
00:27:45If you're unfocused on golf, he's just going to play well.
00:27:47How can you focus on golf?
00:27:49That's the thing.
00:27:50He's just...
00:27:51I don't know.
00:27:52I don't think he's going to play well.
00:27:53Not to get on the Victor Hovland thing, like going down this weird questions, but it is
00:28:00kind of weird that we bury people.
00:28:03What are we going to do with them?
00:28:04I don't know, but just thinking about it, that is kind of weird.
00:28:09Do you think in 50 million years, people are going to be digging on Long Island, there's
00:28:15a giant cemetery.
00:28:16The dinosaurs got buried.
00:28:17Yeah.
00:28:18The giant cemetery that we have there.
00:28:19Yeah.
00:28:20In 50 million years, are they going to be digging there and they're going to find that
00:28:22huge cemetery and just make oil out of all of us?
00:28:25I don't know, but it's just...
00:28:27I'm just...
00:28:28This is one of those things you shouldn't think about things too much.
00:28:31Just thinking about you put someone in a box and you put them in the ground and that's
00:28:35it.
00:28:36That's kind of weird.
00:28:37Yeah.
00:28:38Or you could get cremation.
00:28:40You could get cremated, which feels a little less weird.
00:28:43I like cremation.
00:28:44It does feel a little less weird.
00:28:45You could at least be like, put a little me here, put a little me there.
00:28:48Put a little me on the golf course, put a little me more on the golf course.
00:28:51You know what?
00:28:52Just pour the whole thing on the golf course.
00:28:53Ocean.
00:28:54Chop me up, do a line of me.
00:28:55Golf course.
00:28:56Yeah.
00:28:57Oh, Hank.
00:28:58Oh, if Hank dies before us, we got to get him cremated and we'll fucking sit his ass
00:29:02in a chair at work every day.
00:29:06Fuck you, Hank.
00:29:07You're coming to work, buddy.
00:29:08I will haunt you.
00:29:09Yeah, you will.
00:29:10I won't be coming to work.
00:29:11I'll be retired.
00:29:12I fully believe that if Hank had the powers as a ghost to choose if you want to be a friendly
00:29:16ghost or a haunting ghost, Hank would show up and just ruin everything.
00:29:20Put Hank back in like the 10th grade math class.
00:29:22Like, here you go, buddy.
00:29:24Take a seat.
00:29:25I want my body to be jettisoned into outer space after I die because it's a vacuum, right?
00:29:29So nothing eats away at you.
00:29:31So that way my body is just floating around space forever.
00:29:34I like that.
00:29:35Civilization discovers me and brings me back to life, puts me in a zoo.
00:29:39I like that.
00:29:40Yeah.
00:29:41I like that.
00:29:42Thanks, Victor.
00:29:43Yeah.
00:29:44Thanks, Victor.
00:29:45Yeah.
00:29:46Got us going.
00:29:47Got us talking.
00:29:48Who is the establishment in this case?
00:29:49Yeah.
00:29:50The establishment tells you-
00:29:51The world?
00:29:52The neurons stop firing.
00:29:53Earth?
00:29:54God?
00:29:55NWO.
00:29:56NWO.
00:29:57Yeah.
00:29:58The W-E-F?
00:29:59That is, yeah.
00:30:00The establishment's not the right word there.
00:30:01The establishment says that when you die, you die.
00:30:02The establishment will say your neurons will stop firing, your body will rot.
00:30:05I think in this case, the establishment means people who are smarter than you.
00:30:09Doctors?
00:30:10Or could the establishment be your own body?
00:30:12His own brain maybe tells me that.
00:30:13His own brain stops the neurons stop firing?
00:30:16So he's at war against himself?
00:30:17Yeah.
00:30:18Okay, Victor.
00:30:19Great thought starter.
00:30:20Yeah.
00:30:21Way to go, dude.
00:30:22What happens after we die?
00:30:23I'm going to have to bet him.
00:30:24I'm going to have to bet him.
00:30:25I'm going to do a death bet.
00:30:26Yeah, I'm betting him.
00:30:27Fuck it.
00:30:28For a little bit.
00:30:29Yeah.
00:30:30We got him.
00:30:32I'm a little sad because he's like, yeah, but you know what?
00:30:34One day I'm going to die, and then what?
00:30:37Maybe he becomes a golf ball.
00:30:38That would suck.
00:30:39Yeah.
00:30:40Just get smashed around.
00:30:41Maybe one of those old ghosts that hangs out at the golf course after they win a tournament
00:30:45there that we see in the movies all the time.
00:30:47Okay.
00:30:48PFT, your hot seat, cool throne?
00:30:49My hot seat was going to be Brawny, but I feel like we've reached the depths of the
00:30:52Brawny conversation.
00:30:54So my cool throne-
00:30:55Katelyn Clark?
00:30:56I'm just kidding.
00:30:57Charlotte?
00:30:58Katelyn Clark.
00:30:59Katelyn Clark might get a free trip to Paris.
00:31:03I don't know.
00:31:04We'll see.
00:31:05Cool throne, Stephen A. Smith.
00:31:07Yes.
00:31:08Because he won the divorce.
00:31:09Yes.
00:31:10Officially, Stephen A. Smith has won the Skip Bayless, Stephen A. Smith divorce.
00:31:13It took a few years to get there.
00:31:14Skip seemed like he was happy with his new flame.
00:31:17Things were going well with him and Shannon.
00:31:19Then Shannon said, you know what?
00:31:20I can do better.
00:31:21He goes off, does his own podcast, gets five trillion views on it, works for ESPN, seems
00:31:26to be having a good time.
00:31:27And they tried to replace Shannon with five different people, undisputed.
00:31:32And it just wasn't hitting the same for Skip.
00:31:35So Skip is out at Fox Sports, I believe at the end of the summer, at the end of August.
00:31:39Yeah, what is he going to do?
00:31:40I offered the intern spot on part of my take to Skip Bayless.
00:31:44Love that.
00:31:45I think that if Skip wants to reach the next generation, this is a good place to do it.
00:31:49Have him on that couch over there.
00:31:51We need a Cowboys fan all the time.
00:31:52I mean, there's always room in this world for Skip Bayless taking off a Cowboys jersey
00:31:57and throwing it into a trash compactor and walking out of the room.
00:32:01Those videos are always going to hit.
00:32:02This is kind of a win for the world.
00:32:05In what way?
00:32:06Like, Skip, I've always thought Skip is the, he sucks.
00:32:10Like, Stephen A. Smith is playing a character.
00:32:13I like Stephen A. Smith.
00:32:14I know that he can be a provocateur, but he's doing somewhat of an act.
00:32:19Skip is kind of just an asshole.
00:32:22But I kind of like that.
00:32:23Yeah, I guess, like-
00:32:24I wouldn't want to hang-
00:32:25Hanging off Shannon.
00:32:26I wouldn't want to hang out with him or work with him.
00:32:27I don't know.
00:32:28But-
00:32:29I would be bummed if we didn't get any more Stephen A. Smith.
00:32:30I'd be bummed if we didn't get any more Shannon.
00:32:32There's like a, like, coward is weird, but like, he still is kind of funny.
00:32:37You know what I mean?
00:32:38Where he'll say stuff and you're like, oh, that's funny.
00:32:40Skip doesn't really add anything but besides being an asshole and running like the same
00:32:44three plays.
00:32:45Yeah, the-
00:32:46He just feels different than the other guys in that group.
00:32:48But I do love something about Skip Bayless.
00:32:51I mean, I don't want to have a conversation with him.
00:32:53I don't want to hang out with him.
00:32:55I don't want to work with him.
00:32:56But there's-
00:32:57I feel like the sports ecosystem needs a Skip Bayless.
00:33:00Somebody that's so, like, dead set.
00:33:02Every single moment of Skip Bayless's life is focused on how can I make this about LeBron
00:33:06James.
00:33:07Yeah.
00:33:08Or the Cowboys.
00:33:09Or the Cowboys.
00:33:10He-
00:33:11I mean, he was heartbroken that Bronny wasn't playing well because I think he wanted Bronny
00:33:13to be better than his dad.
00:33:16Yeah.
00:33:17He'll come on the show now, I'm sure.
00:33:18He'll have to, like-
00:33:19I'm sure we'll have Skip Bayless on in, like, the fall or the spring.
00:33:23Him being like, you know, I have this new project.
00:33:26I think we should hire him.
00:33:27Everyone pays to go listen.
00:33:28I think we should hire Skip Bayless.
00:33:29Yeah.
00:33:30Imagine him just hanging out in the office all the time.
00:33:33Ernestine, dual package.
00:33:34Need Ernestine.
00:33:35Gotta have Ernestine.
00:33:36Gotta have Ernestine.
00:33:37She's his producer.
00:33:38Can't sleep in the same bed, though.
00:33:39Yeah.
00:33:40Skip-
00:33:41On the weekdays.
00:33:42Oh, does that mean they're gonna-
00:33:43Are they gonna start sleeping in the same bed every night?
00:33:44They might start fucking.
00:33:45Oh, my God.
00:33:46In which case, you're gonna-
00:33:47This sucks for Ernestine.
00:33:48I feel bad for Ernestine.
00:33:49What if Skip and Ernestine start doing it, and then all of a sudden, like, Skip Bayless
00:33:54changes his entire tune on life.
00:33:55He's like, I found the love of a woman, getting laid is awesome, LeBron, you're actually a
00:34:00great player.
00:34:01I apologize for everything.
00:34:02Yeah, you're a cool dude.
00:34:03My bad.
00:34:04Tim Tebow, I tried the virginity thing.
00:34:06Having sex is way better.
00:34:07I no longer love you.
00:34:09Yeah.
00:34:10So Skip's out.
00:34:11Sad day.
00:34:12Crazy.
00:34:13Sad day for sports.
00:34:14Yeah.
00:34:15Okay.
00:34:16My hot seat is Florida State.
00:34:17Oh, they're doing top 10 quarterbacks right now.
00:34:19See that, Max?
00:34:21Yeah.
00:34:22Florida State's doing top 10 quarterbacks, and Jalen Hurts is not in the top 10.
00:34:25No, it's a Jalen Hurts revenge tour this year.
00:34:28It's gonna be great.
00:34:29I don't see a deck on that list.
00:34:31Oh, there is.
00:34:32He's at 10.
00:34:33He's at 10.
00:34:34Behind Jerry Goff.
00:34:35Florida State has been announced, so the ACC is still up in the air.
00:34:41Weird shit.
00:34:42Everyone thinks they might leave.
00:34:43The Big Ten and the SEC came out and said they are not interested in taking Florida
00:34:49State.
00:34:51They basically said it makes no financial sense for the league, and they have not been
00:34:55a good partner.
00:34:56What does that mean?
00:34:58They've not been a good partner.
00:34:59I think they've just been upset or just riled stuff up.
00:35:04They've been a disruptive partner, was the quote.
00:35:06So reading between the lines, it seems like Florida State wants to be treated like they're
00:35:10now the star of the Big Ten.
00:35:12Yeah, but also this means nothing because this is essentially, they're saying, so Big
00:35:17Ten, SEC, unlikely to add Florida State if it leaves ACC and ACC survives.
00:35:23Those two things aren't gonna happen at the same time.
00:35:25This is like when the Big Ten was like, we're not gonna take Washington and Oregon if the
00:35:31Pac-12 survives.
00:35:33When Washington and Oregon are gone after USC and UCLA are gone, the Pac-12's not surviving.
00:35:38If Clemson and Florida State leave the ACC, they're not gonna survive.
00:35:41So the Big Ten and SEC basically are saying, we don't want them unless the ACC is gone,
00:35:47which if they leave, they'll be gone, in which case we want them.
00:35:49It also might seem like Florida State is, they're on the Titanic, which is the ACC,
00:35:53which is sinking.
00:35:54They get on a lifeboat and they're like, why is there no open bar?
00:35:58It's like the Big Ten feels like a great fit.
00:36:01Really anything, Florida State should be in the SEC, just geographically it would make
00:36:04a lot of sense.
00:36:05Yeah, the disruptive partner part though is funny.
00:36:07I understand why Florida State would not want to be in the SEC with the recruiting in that
00:36:12area.
00:36:13It's better if you're in the Big Ten for that.
00:36:15But yeah, they're going to get out at some point.
00:36:17Yeah, we're still going.
00:36:18We're going to get two super conferences.
00:36:21And then my cool throne is the haters and the doubters, of which there are many, because
00:36:24I came back with Doug's last night or Monday night.
00:36:29We're going to stream again tonight, Wednesday night, 730 Central.
00:36:32I'm terrible at this game.
00:36:34Yeah, it's going to take some time.
00:36:37What the fuck, Hank?
00:36:38You were, before we started taping, you're like, it's fine, you'll be fine.
00:36:44You were definitely-
00:36:45Take your headphones off.
00:36:46Take your headphones off.
00:36:47Take your headphones off.
00:36:48All right, I'm not listening.
00:36:51It's better for you to be really bad to start.
00:36:53But I don't want to be as bad as I am.
00:36:55I understand that.
00:36:56I'm just saying, from a holistic point of view, big picture.
00:37:01I didn't sleep last night.
00:37:02That Stanford boss is going to kill me.
00:37:06It's like, it's training camp.
00:37:07It's like, you know, as a coach, I'm not a coach, but like looking at it from the outside,
00:37:13it's like, it's better to have, you know-
00:37:16But what if I never get good?
00:37:18Like Belichick, like even no matter how good you are, you want to break down the bad things.
00:37:22It's almost good to have things to break down and improve on.
00:37:25You don't learn from, you learn more from mistakes than you do from success.
00:37:27And Big Hat has, can learn, you know, textbooks from all the mistakes.
00:37:32Memes is my co-offensive, he's my Ernie Adams, wasn't a great night for my first night with
00:37:38Ernie Adams.
00:37:39How's that working?
00:37:40Memes?
00:37:42I thought last night went well.
00:37:45I went one and four.
00:37:46It went well.
00:37:47No, yeah, it went well.
00:37:48It went well.
00:37:49Why can't you just blame your defense?
00:37:50I did.
00:37:51Okay, good.
00:37:52I also blamed my kids.
00:37:53I blamed Xbox, the PlayStation.
00:37:55You said that Coach Doug's a one kid guy.
00:37:57Yeah, I said he's a one kid guy.
00:37:58I'm going to have to have a talk with kids two and three and be like, hey, you might
00:38:02have to leave for a while.
00:38:03Yeah.
00:38:04Because I got a coach.
00:38:05Minimize distractions.
00:38:06Yeah.
00:38:07It's great.
00:38:08The game is great.
00:38:09It's so much fun to be back.
00:38:11I also feel really bad for Washington State because they're like, we believe in you, and
00:38:19they don't realize Doug's is, he'll be out as soon as he gets a better offer.
00:38:23That's how Doug's works.
00:38:25So if I win some games, I'm gone.
00:38:28Either way, the haters and doubters, of which there are many, get a lot of it.
00:38:31Is this a lost season?
00:38:32No.
00:38:33Have you thought about expanding the playbook?
00:38:36Yes.
00:38:37But that's easier said than done.
00:38:38What were you going to say, Max?
00:38:39I just wanted the listeners to know that this is real football coach, real football
00:38:43coach right now.
00:38:44I am trying.
00:38:45It's consumed all of your brain.
00:38:48How many people was that?
00:38:49The first thing that you said to today is like, Doug stinks.
00:38:52Every single person I saw.
00:38:54It's completely consumed.
00:38:55It's all I've got on my mind.
00:38:57It's a football coach.
00:38:58You're a real football coach.
00:38:59It's back in.
00:39:00I forgot what it's like to be doing this, where you're playing video games for a lot
00:39:02of people, and it eats away at me.
00:39:05I didn't sleep last night.
00:39:06I was like, God damn it.
00:39:07Two and three is so much better than one and four.
00:39:10If he just didn't, weren't an idiot in that Stanford game.
00:39:12Have you guys seen the screenshots that are going around of players like people that maybe
00:39:17it's when you're a player in the game and you get like text messages from your teammates?
00:39:21Yeah.
00:39:22I think a lot of them are fake.
00:39:23Are they fake?
00:39:24I think so.
00:39:25One's asking you if you want to come out.
00:39:26Memes is my recruiting coordinator as well, because I need him to just, we don't have
00:39:31time right now.
00:39:33So he'll let you know if that happens.
00:39:34Okay.
00:39:36Yeah.
00:39:37Okay.
00:39:38Should we do the Mount Rushmore?
00:39:39Let's do it.
00:39:40This is going to be a good one.
00:39:42This is going to piss a lot of people off.

00:40:29Great bottles too.
00:40:30A lot of water.
00:40:32Okay.
00:40:33Mount Rushmore of movies and TV shows we've never seen.
00:40:39Now this is going to be honor system.
00:40:40I think we all trust each other.
00:40:42We also all know a lot of where our blind spots are.
00:40:46Also, these are deeply embarrassing things at times to admit.
00:40:49Yeah.
00:40:50Very.
00:40:51No, I've had this theory for a while where one of my picks might be out there, but I
00:40:56think that everyone has one or two movies or shows that they just missed.
00:41:02When you say it out loud, people are like, what?
00:41:05How is that possible?
00:41:06And you always hear them talked about where you're like, you don't want to, because then
00:41:10you're just distracting the conversation about the movie or show to everyone be like, wait,
00:41:13you haven't seen that?
00:41:14I have one on my list that I actually think that I've just said, yes, I've seen, and I
00:41:20have not seen because I'm so embarrassed about it and it eats me up inside because it's something
00:41:26I would love.
00:41:27But yeah, this is going to be Mount Rushmore people are going to be very upset about.
00:41:32By the way, but also everyone that's upset also has some that it's like, yeah, everyone
00:41:37has these.
00:41:38Yeah.
00:41:39And guess what?
00:41:40I would love for this list to be bigger because there's nothing better than being like, I
00:41:45haven't seen this classic movie or TV show, and now I get to go watch it.
00:41:48Yeah.
00:41:49During COVID, I got to watch all of Game of Thrones first time, and it was incredible.
00:41:53Yeah.
00:41:54I was so happy, and people were jealous that I got to do it.
00:41:56I wonder, there might be one person that doesn't have anything they missed, Jeff Lowe.
00:42:00I don't think Jeff Lowe has anything.
00:42:02He's a freak.
00:42:03He sees everything.
00:42:04He's a freak.
00:42:06By the way, I don't think anyone responded to the AWL hit me up who said that we could
00:42:11literally do cat in the hat in the punishments, that one of the punishments could be getting
00:42:16a cat.
00:42:17I'm down.
00:42:18Okay.
00:42:19Are you?
00:42:20I'm allergic to cats.
00:42:21Yeah.
00:42:22Next.
00:42:23What?
00:42:24So you have to get one of those skinless weird cats.
00:42:25Yeah.
00:42:26No, thanks.
00:42:27Yeah.
00:42:28No, there's hypoallergenic cats.
00:42:29Yeah.
00:42:30I think Blake would make short work of that cat.
00:42:33So you're out.
00:42:34Do we want to murder a cat?
00:42:35But the listeners, there's no content.
00:42:36True.
00:42:37Good point.
00:42:38All right.
00:42:39Just for the record, I was down.
00:42:41I was down, too.
00:42:42I'm not going to, but I have given it a little more thought.
00:42:47I'm down, but since Max is out, I don't think we should do a cat as a single guy.
00:42:51Yeah.
00:42:52No, definitely be a weird mood.
00:42:53That's why you got to make it not weird and get three cats.
00:42:58That's how you make it not weird.
00:42:59All right.
00:43:00Mount Rushmore.
00:43:01So what's the order?
00:43:02I'm going first.
00:43:03Yep.
00:43:04Big cat.
00:43:05Hank.
00:43:06Max.
00:43:07Me.
00:43:08Okay.
00:43:09I won one.
00:43:10I think this is going to hurt PFT.
00:43:11Yeah.
00:43:12It's the easy one.
00:43:13One.
00:43:14I've never seen any of the Star Wars.
00:43:15Yep.
00:43:16Me too.
00:43:17Not a single one.
00:43:18I didn't even put that down on my list because I knew you were going to take it.
00:43:19And I know, obviously, Darth Vader.
00:43:20I know the story.
00:43:23Never seen it.
00:43:24Who's Darth Vader's son?
00:43:25Luke.
00:43:26Luke.
00:43:27Luke.
00:43:28I am your father.
00:43:30I don't know the shit that you know, but you don't.
00:43:31Nothing else.
00:43:32I.
00:43:33Yeah.
00:43:34I just never.
00:43:35I don't like sci-fi.
00:43:36And that was.
00:43:37I just never watched it.
00:43:38Who's Darth Vader's?
00:43:39The originals.
00:43:40Who's the real name?
00:43:41Anakin.
00:43:42Luke Harington.
00:43:43There you go.
00:43:44Oh, okay.
00:43:45That was close.
00:43:46Wait.
00:43:47Anakin Skywalker?
00:43:48Anakin is Darth Vader.
00:43:49Oh, this is going to get Clem and Robbie so mad this entire Mount Rushmore.
00:43:50I love this.
00:43:51And then Yoda is the grandfather.
00:43:52Groku?
00:43:53No.
00:43:54Groku is the father.
00:43:55Oh.
00:43:56Okay.
00:43:57Who's Yoda's father?
00:43:58Groku?
00:43:59No.
00:44:00Groku was Yoda's son.
00:44:01Nope.
00:44:02What's R2D2 and C3PO?
00:44:05They're just computers?
00:44:06They're in all the movies.
00:44:07And then Chewbacca is.
00:44:08R2D2 might be the sneaky main character.
00:44:12So Luke and Princess Leia's his sister, his brother or sister.
00:44:15Luke and Princess Leia are twins.
00:44:19And they fuck?
00:44:20And they make out.
00:44:21Oh, and then Han Solo is.
00:44:25What's he?
00:44:26He's a raider.
00:44:27Him and Chewbacca are boys.
00:44:29Chewbacca is his pet.
00:44:31Chewbacca is his partner.
00:44:32Pet.
00:44:33Partner.
00:44:34Does he have a leash for him?
00:44:35No.
00:44:36Who made C-3PO?
00:44:38Anakin.
00:44:39What's the guy with?
00:44:40He's a robot inventor?
00:44:42Yeah.
00:44:43What's the guy you dress up as on?
00:44:44Darth Maul.
00:44:45Who's that?
00:44:46Episode one.
00:44:47He is a Sith Lord that gets killed by Anakin
00:44:51after Darth Maul kills.
00:44:54Oh no, he gets killed by Obi-Wan Kenobi.
00:44:58Who's that?
00:44:59That's Anakin's master, or what do you call it?
00:45:03Anakin was his apprentice.
00:45:03Sensei?
00:45:04Mentor?
00:45:05Anakin was Obi-Wan's apprentice.
00:45:07And the Ewoks are all just baby Yodas
00:45:09that hang out on a planet together.
00:45:10They're like little baby bears.
00:45:11Anakin is, how is Anakin related to Luke?
00:45:14Father.
00:45:15Anakin is Luke's father, but Luke came first.
00:45:18No, but in Star Wars, it started four, five, six.
00:45:23Which is about Luke.
00:45:24Darth Vader's the bad guy.
00:45:25Did they do that on purpose?
00:45:26And then 20 years later, they did one, two, three,
00:45:29which is Anakin's beginning,
00:45:31leading up to him becoming Darth Vader.
00:45:33And then they did eight, nine, 10,
00:45:35which are fucking horrible and ruined the entire franchise.
00:45:37Anakin is Darth Vader?
00:45:39Yep.
00:45:40And he is Luke's father?
00:45:41Correct.
00:45:42But the first.
00:45:44Obi-Wan Kenobi is Luke's.
00:45:47Is this Rushmore just going to be explaining
00:45:49every single movie or show that I do here?
00:45:52No, just this one, just this one.
00:45:53Obi-Wan Kenobi was Luke's, was Anakin's master.
00:45:58And then he was in the sequel trilogy.
00:46:00He also was Luke's master.
00:46:01And what's Jar Jar?
00:46:02But then Anakin kills, Darth Vader kills Obi-Wan.
00:46:05Who kills Jar Jar?
00:46:07I don't know, I think Jar Jar survived.
00:46:09So Jar Jar wins.
00:46:10What are the things that.
00:46:11People think Jar Jar was the ultimate villain, Snoke.
00:46:14Oh.
00:46:15But that got proven to be wrong.
00:46:16What's the, what are the big elephant things?
00:46:20That you just.
00:46:21Oh, the ones you ride around on?
00:46:22Because I did play the video game.
00:46:24The video game rocked when the first video game,
00:46:26you just ride around them and you rope them off.
00:46:29And what is Bill Burr?
00:46:31He's a Mandalorian.
00:46:33Got it, okay.
00:46:34Okay, all right, Star Wars.
00:46:35All right, my one one, I think you guys know this.
00:46:41If people hated me before, I think this might be.
00:46:43Yep, yep.
00:46:43It's going to be the one that I said.
00:46:44And my career with the AWLs, I apologize.
00:46:49I know the characters.
00:46:51I've seen, you know, Twitter clips, I've read blogs.
00:46:56South Park.
00:46:57Oh!
00:46:58I've never seen South Park.
00:46:59You've never watched an episode of South Park?
00:47:00Okay, Hank.
00:47:01That's not the one that the AWL had.
00:47:02Did Hank, can we talk?
00:47:03Can we talk, Hank?
00:47:06I have seen enough episodes of South Park
00:47:09that I made myself ineligible,
00:47:12but I have probably seen less than six episodes of South Park.
00:47:15I've had roommates that have watched it.
00:47:17I never have really cared for it.
00:47:19I've never sat down by myself or with a roommate
00:47:22and been like, I'm going to watch an episode of South Park.
00:47:24I've seen, you know, when they like,
00:47:26someone will post a Twitter, like South Park did this,
00:47:29you know, version of whatever, talking about current events.
00:47:31So I've seen clips.
00:47:32I know Cartman.
00:47:33I know PC Principal, Billy Football, the Big Balls guy.
00:47:37I'm with you, Hank.
00:47:38There's a guy that always dies.
00:47:39Eric dies every episode or whatever.
00:47:41No, Kenny.
00:47:42Kenny.
00:47:42Kenny.
00:47:43I'm with you, Hank.
00:47:44Like, I had to take it off my list
00:47:46because I have sat down and watched
00:47:48probably like four to five of them,
00:47:50but I never have watched a full season.
00:47:52I don't really know, like, the jokes.
00:47:55I know it's funny.
00:47:56I just never got into it.
00:47:58Did you watch the movie?
00:47:59No.
00:47:59No.
00:48:00And I see, my TikTok algorithm has, like,
00:48:02the behind the scenes of them doing the voices.
00:48:04Yeah, they're incredible guys.
00:48:05Stuff like Phil Hader.
00:48:06It's funny stuff.
00:48:07It's like the funniest,
00:48:08it's like one of my favorite shows.
00:48:08I'm ashamed.
00:48:09I love South Park.
00:48:10It's one of, like, my favorite shows.
00:48:11Were you not allowed to watch it when you were a kid?
00:48:13That's part of it.
00:48:14Yeah.
00:48:15So I never watched it.
00:48:17I have one of those as well.
00:48:18I have one of those as well.
00:48:18I think South Park, for me,
00:48:19it just came out at a time
00:48:20that I, like, kind of wasn't watching that type of TV.
00:48:23Yeah, I couldn't watch it in my house.
00:48:24So, and then I just,
00:48:25well, then when I got older, I never got into it.
00:48:27My parents were very cool about letting me watch,
00:48:29if it was in cartoon format, I could watch any show.
00:48:32So it was like Beavis and Butthead,
00:48:34Simpson, South Park from the time I was, like, really young,
00:48:37which I'm thankful for.
00:48:38But South Park is a big one.
00:48:41I did not think you were going with South Park.
00:48:42I need to know what one you guys thought I had.
00:48:44We're not going to say it.
00:48:45Yeah.
00:48:46Because we don't want to trigger something
00:48:47that gets you to say it.
00:48:50I mean, I also-
00:48:51We'll say it at the end.
00:48:52I also don't think, I don't know.
00:48:53I think, yeah, whatever.
00:48:54All right, we have more picks.
00:48:55Yeah, all right, Max.
00:48:57But that was the one.
00:48:58I don't know what, now I have no idea.
00:49:00Was it a movie or TV show?
00:49:02TV show.
00:49:03TV.
00:49:04Honestly, I didn't have this one on my list
00:49:06because I didn't even think about it
00:49:08because I've never seen it,
00:49:09but that just sparked me.
00:49:09I've never seen The Simpsons.
00:49:11What?
00:49:11I've never seen The Simpsons.
00:49:12That's shocking.
00:49:13Ever?
00:49:14Never, never seen it.
00:49:15That's a great pick.
00:49:16I should have said that.
00:49:17Great pick.
00:49:18I've never-
00:49:19God damn it.
00:49:19It didn't even cross my mind
00:49:21because I've never even thought about watching it.
00:49:23Wow.
00:49:24Because it was one of those things,
00:49:25like when I was a kid, I couldn't watch it.
00:49:28And then I just like South Park and Family Guy,
00:49:31so I was like, ah, I don't care about The Simpsons.
00:49:34South Park.
00:49:34I mean-
00:49:35It may have been something, like Hank said,
00:49:37people around me have probably been watching it while I've,
00:49:40but I've never sat down and had the intent
00:49:43to watch an episode of The Simpsons.
00:49:45Wow.
00:49:46I think seasons three through eight on The Simpsons
00:49:48are the best TV ever made.
00:49:50OG Simpsons, so Max gets OG Simpsons on this one?
00:49:53OG Simpsons, yeah.
00:49:54OG Simpsons, yeah.
00:49:55Yeah.
00:49:55Get OG Simpsons.
00:49:56All right, all right, all right, all right.
00:49:58Okay.
00:49:58All right, good pick.
00:49:59PFT?
00:50:00My one-one is going to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
00:50:05I've never seen a Marvel movie.
00:50:07Any of them?
00:50:08I've never seen a Marvel movie.
00:50:09You've never seen Iron Man?
00:50:10Never seen Iron Man.
00:50:11Iron Man is the one that like most people-
00:50:12I feel like you've seen at least one of these.
00:50:14You have to pick one of them.
00:50:15I haven't seen any of them.
00:50:16No, I think that counts.
00:50:18Because it's like, it's like Star Wars.
00:50:20No, no, no, I know, but I feel like you've seen at least-
00:50:23No, no, I understand that.
00:50:24I'm saying I feel like there's one that he's seen
00:50:26that he doesn't realize he's seen.
00:50:27Okay, all right, unless it's Iron Man.
00:50:30Name the most common ones.
00:50:31It's Iron Man.
00:50:32And none of the Avengers?
00:50:34I did see 15 minutes of Iron Man 2.
00:50:38But that's-
00:50:39In a living-
00:50:39None of the Avengers?
00:50:40That's fine.
00:50:41I've never seen an Avengers.
00:50:42Captain America.
00:50:43Nope.
00:50:44Spider-Man.
00:50:45I have seen Batman.
00:50:46Daredevil.
00:50:47Spider-Man, but it has to be Tom Holland's Spider-Man.
00:50:50Ant-Man.
00:50:50Nope.
00:50:52Batman's not in the Marvel.
00:50:52No Spider-Man.
00:50:54You've never seen even the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man?
00:50:57Any Spider-Man, never watched a Spider-Man.
00:50:58That's insane.
00:51:00I haven't either.
00:51:00That's even more crazy.
00:51:02You could even put the Spider-Mans on there.
00:51:04Yeah, Blade.
00:51:05Like the Tobey Maguire.
00:51:07Blade is not-
00:51:07I might put him on Spider-Man.
00:51:10Isn't Blade a Marvel?
00:51:11I don't think Blade is Marvel.
00:51:12No, I don't know what that is.
00:51:12Yeah, I don't know.
00:51:14That's Guardians of the Galaxy.
00:51:15Guardians of the Galaxy is another one that's-
00:51:18I haven't seen most of them.
00:51:19That's the one with the raccoon and the tree, right?
00:51:21Yeah, the tree.
00:51:22Endgame.
00:51:24I've only seen the Iron Mans
00:51:26in like one of the first Endgame movie,
00:51:29or the first Avengers movie.
00:51:30I promise you, I've never seen a Marvel movie.
00:51:33Yeah.
00:51:34And they're like, if you go down the list-
00:51:35Black Panther.
00:51:37Oh, is that a Marvel movie?
00:51:38Oh, got him.
00:51:39Yes, Black Panther is Marvel.
00:51:40I did watch Black Panther.
00:51:42I did not see Black Panther.
00:51:44Damn.
00:51:46Okay.
00:51:47I was actually worried about saying
00:51:48I hadn't seen Black Panther,
00:51:49because I have not seen Black Panther.
00:51:50Black Panther's good.
00:51:51The second one's good, too.
00:51:51It's very good.
00:51:52I saw it on an airplane.
00:51:54Dang.
00:51:55Yeah, that's-
00:51:55She's got a pick-up.
00:51:56All right, so I'll take-
00:51:57That was honestly Integrity, right?
00:51:58The Spider-Man.
00:51:59I'm going to take the Avengers franchise, then.
00:52:01Yep, that works.
00:52:02But also just know I've never seen a Marvel movie,
00:52:04besides that.
00:52:05Yeah, besides that.
00:52:05I have literally never seen any of these movies.
00:52:08Not a single one.
00:52:09Blade is Marvel, by the way.
00:52:11Is that the Wesley Snipes?
00:52:12Yeah.
00:52:13You haven't seen Blade?
00:52:14I haven't seen Blade from back in the-
00:52:16Maybe I saw Blade 2.
00:52:18So you have, what, the Endgame?
00:52:20Or Avengers?
00:52:21I've got the entire Avengers series, yeah.
00:52:23Got it.
00:52:25I had that on there, as well.
00:52:26I haven't seen any of these.
00:52:27Okay.
00:52:28Not a single one.
00:52:29I hate that you fell in Black Panther.
00:52:31I forgot.
00:52:31I knew you had seen one.
00:52:32I'm going to dig into your choices now, big time.
00:52:34I mean, I knew you'd seen one.
00:52:36I was going to pick-
00:52:38I was going to pick-
00:52:39Wait, you've seen Mandalorian, haven't you?
00:52:42Oh.
00:52:44Baby Yoda?
00:52:45You never watched any of it?
00:52:46No, I like the memes and shit.
00:52:48I post the memes with the coffee.
00:52:51The Endgame was what I was going to pick, as well.
00:52:54The Avengers.
00:52:55Avengers, yeah.
00:52:55So I got the Avengers franchise.
00:52:57And then my second, Harry Potter.
00:53:00What?
00:53:01Never seen a Harry Potter.
00:53:02Also, that's a show.
00:53:03Never read a book.
00:53:04It's Star Wars.
00:53:05But no, I haven't seen the Star Wars movie.
00:53:06You want to put movie?
00:53:07I'm just-
00:53:08Okay.
00:53:09We can put movie.
00:53:11I'm pretty sure I just post the memes
00:53:13because I thought it was the cutest thing ever.
00:53:16Maybe we should do like a different,
00:53:17like the show is red,
00:53:20and like the movie is green on the graphic.
00:53:23And do a little-
00:53:23I've never seen a Star Wars movie.
00:53:25Yeah.
00:53:26Okay, but Harry Potter.
00:53:28Yeah, I've never seen it.
00:53:29Yeah, no, that's-
00:53:29Never read it.
00:53:30Those are two heavy hitters for you.
00:53:31Never watched it.
00:53:33People get very mad at me about the Harry Potter thing.
00:53:36I know that Max looks like that one guy.
00:53:38Hagrid.
00:53:38Yeah.
00:53:39I actually watched, I read the books as a kid.
00:53:41Probably the last books I ever read.
00:53:43And I forget what caused it,
00:53:46but I got into Harry Potter movie binge this year.
00:53:50I re-watched them all.
00:53:52I do that like once every like three years.
00:53:54I love Harry Potter.
00:53:55I haven't seen any Harry Potter as well.
00:53:56I went on a Harry Potter podcast a couple of years ago.
00:53:59Never saw anything.
00:54:00They explained Harry Potter to me.
00:54:01So I understand part of it.
00:54:03And there's houses, right?
00:54:04So you can be in a different clan.
00:54:06Yeah.
00:54:07Well, I don't know.
00:54:08I've never-
00:54:09Would you rather be Gryffindor, Hufflepuff,
00:54:11Slytherin, or Ravenclaw?
00:54:14Ravenclaw, easy answer.
00:54:15Slytherin.
00:54:16That's a good one.
00:54:17That's a very happy people.
00:54:18Yeah.
00:54:19Ravenclaw's a good answer?
00:54:20Ravenclaw's mid.
00:54:21Ah, shit.
00:54:22You want to be Hufflepuff, right?
00:54:24Gryffindor.
00:54:25Well, it depends.
00:54:26I want to be Slytherin.
00:54:27Ravenclaw's not a bad pick.
00:54:28Okay.
00:54:29Max.
00:54:30The Wire.
00:54:31Never seen a single episode.
00:54:32It's always one that's been on my list of like,
00:54:35I have to watch this.
00:54:36I have to watch this.
00:54:37People are going to hate this so much.
00:54:39Never done it.
00:54:40Favorite show of all time.
00:54:42Watch it probably once a year.
00:54:43They're going to hate it so much.
00:54:44I have read the oral history, actually, of The Wire.
00:54:46It's really good.
00:54:47Very good.
00:54:48So good.
00:54:49Every season is good.
00:54:50Every character's great.
00:54:51There's no good guys.
00:54:52There's no bad guys.
00:54:53The bad guys are good.
00:54:54The good guys are bad.
00:54:56It's incredible.
00:54:58Shit.
00:55:00You don't know Omar.
00:55:01Omar Cumming.
00:55:02No, no, not at all.
00:55:04Damn.
00:55:05Chain of Command, McNulty.
00:55:06I say that all the time.
00:55:07I feel like even if you haven't seen a lot of these shows,
00:55:09you've been exposed to enough GIFs from the show.
00:55:12See, I know nothing.
00:55:13Like, I don't even know if I,
00:55:14I probably have seen Wire GIFs.
00:55:15I would have no idea that they were from The Wire.
00:55:17You've definitely seen the GIF of Weebay
00:55:20scratching his chin when he realizes something's wrong.
00:55:23That's the oh shit.
00:55:24Price of the Brick went up.
00:55:26Let him know we back up.
00:55:27Yep.
00:55:28That one you've definitely seen.
00:55:29Oh, that one sounds familiar.
00:55:30Yeah, you've definitely seen that.
00:55:33Oh, this is such a good show.
00:55:35Wait.
00:55:37Am I up?
00:55:38Oh no, I went first, yeah.
00:55:40It's in order.
00:55:42I'm gonna go, I said this on the show a couple weeks ago.
00:55:45The Matrix.
00:55:46Yeah.
00:55:47Red Pill, Blue Pill.
00:55:49Good pick.
00:55:50Dodging bullets.
00:55:51You haven't seen any of them?
00:55:52We're living in a simulation.
00:55:53Yep.
00:55:56Like, Red Pill, is Red Pill political or is that Matrix?
00:55:59It's become political,
00:56:01but the initial reference of the Red Pill and the Blue Pill
00:56:04was the Red Pill, you can see what's really going on
00:56:08under the surface,
00:56:09and the Blue Pill is just go back to your life
00:56:10and fuck around.
00:56:11So do you want the truth?
00:56:13And what does he take in the movie?
00:56:15He takes the Red Pill.
00:56:15He takes the Red Pill.
00:56:17Matrix 1 was so good.
00:56:19Loved that movie.
00:56:21Yeah.
00:56:21It was so good.
00:56:22It's a like big time deal too.
00:56:25All right, I got two.
00:56:27I think I've said this one before.
00:56:28I've never seen a full episode of Friends.
00:56:31That one's on there.
00:56:32I've just never seen a full episode.
00:56:33That's a banger.
00:56:34I thought about putting that on my list.
00:56:36I think I've seen too many half episodes of Friends.
00:56:39I've seen clips,
00:56:40but I was a Seinfeld guy through and through.
00:56:42Yeah.
00:56:43I've seen every Seinfeld a thousand times.
00:56:44I just never liked Friends.
00:56:46Once you realize that they put a laugh track
00:56:48for every single other word, it kind of ruins it.
00:56:50Yeah, never.
00:56:51Not that I ever really loved it, but.
00:56:52Listening to Friends from a different room,
00:56:54it will annoy the fuck out of you
00:56:56because you just hear pause, laughter, pause,
00:56:59and you're like,
00:56:59there's no chance this show could be that funny.
00:57:01Yeah.
00:57:02All right, here's the one that I'm really ashamed about.
00:57:04Really, really ashamed about
00:57:05because I definitely have just been like,
00:57:07yeah, I've seen it.
00:57:10And I truthfully have never seen it.
00:57:11And it's also movies that I would absolutely love.
00:57:15And I know I'd love.
00:57:19I've never seen a single Fast and Furious.
00:57:22Yeah, it's good.
00:57:23And I thought.
00:57:24I'm like, this actually pains me.
00:57:25I'm actually kind of,
00:57:26I've only seen a couple.
00:57:28It pains me to say it
00:57:28because especially because Feidelberg
00:57:30is one of my favorite people in the entire world.
00:57:33Yeah.
00:57:34And what his excitement for it gets me excited.
00:57:35I'm like, I know I'd love this.
00:57:37And it fucking pains me.
00:57:39I've never seen a single Fast and Furious.
00:57:41Feidelberg turned me on those,
00:57:43but I've never loved the movies.
00:57:44I saw the first two
00:57:45and they're good that you can just turn your brain off.
00:57:47Yeah, but that's the type of movie I love.
00:57:50Yeah, it's a great turn your brain off movie.
00:57:51Yeah, so that hurts.
00:57:52It hurts.
00:57:53I'm happy I've been able to say it out loud.
00:57:57What's the, I don't want to talk about it, cuh.
00:58:01Okay.
00:58:04It's me?
00:58:05Yeah.
00:58:07These are more, my last two are more
00:58:09from when we were younger or when I was younger.
00:58:11Okay.
00:58:11Jurassic Park.
00:58:12Okay.
00:58:13Oh, you stole that from me.
00:58:14I never saw that.
00:58:15People would always tell me about it.
00:58:16That's when, that was the original
00:58:18when I said that like five years ago
00:58:20and people flipped on me.
00:58:21Really?
00:58:22Yeah.
00:58:23I should have seen that.
00:58:23You can get away with it.
00:58:25Yeah.
00:58:26I feel like there's movies that when I was younger,
00:58:28like I had a lot of movies on VHS
00:58:30and if it wasn't in my collection, I never saw it.
00:58:32It's really about the first one.
00:58:34The first Jurassic Park I think is.
00:58:35Yeah, no, the first one.
00:58:36Is the best.
00:58:37The first one with Chris Pratt
00:58:38where he's doing the thing to the raptors.
00:58:40The stop.
00:58:40No, yeah, I'm talking about the OG Steven Spielberg.
00:58:44Yeah, I've seen Jurassic World.
00:58:45I don't think I've ever seen Jurassic Park.
00:58:47Why the fuck don't we have Jurassic Park yet?
00:58:49Because.
00:58:50I agree.
00:58:51Why is that not a real thing?
00:58:52Because it'll take over the world.
00:58:53I don't give a fuck.
00:58:54Who cares?
00:58:55Instead of buying a website so that you can post on an Elon,
00:58:57buy a fucking dinosaur, make dinosaurs for the people.
00:59:00Yep.
00:59:01All right, Hank.
00:59:02Max, good pick, Hank.
00:59:04I had it on my list.
00:59:05Never seen Gladiator.
00:59:07Oh.
00:59:08It's a good one.
00:59:09Never seen Gladiator.
00:59:09That hurts.
00:59:10And that's one that I know is such a cool guy movie
00:59:12to talk about.
00:59:13Are you not entertained?
00:59:14That's one though that I'm jealous of you
00:59:16because it is awesome.
00:59:17And there's a new one coming out.
00:59:18Yeah.
00:59:19So you can watch both.
00:59:20Yeah, no, I need to watch it, but I just never have.
00:59:24Joaquin Phoenix.
00:59:24But that movie is, that movie holds up.
00:59:26Yeah.
00:59:27We should watch, everyone should have to watch one of these
00:59:29and do a review.
00:59:30Okay.
00:59:32You guys have to watch eight movies.
00:59:35Yeah, I do have a lot of movies.
00:59:36Well, no, PFTs is like 20.
00:59:38No, he just got Endgame.
00:59:39Is that Avengers?
00:59:40Avengers is three or four.
00:59:42I have, what, how many Fast and Furious are there?
00:59:45Oh, you have Fast and Furious.
00:59:46You have, I think there's 10 Fast and Furious
00:59:49and 10 Star Wars.
00:59:51But that's also, it's easier to miss those
00:59:53because if you miss the first, you just say no.
00:59:56And that's what I've done.
00:59:57All right, you have two picks, PFT.
00:59:59I'm deeply ashamed of this one
01:00:02because I do think at some point I have said
01:00:04that I've seen one of them.
01:00:06Yep.
01:00:09The Godfather.
01:00:10What?
01:00:11I've never seen The Godfather.
01:00:14I've never seen The Godfather.
01:00:15There's no way that's true.
01:00:16It is true.
01:00:18I don't believe that.
01:00:18The scene I remember, I saw there was a grandfather.
01:00:21We've joked about it a million times about LeBron
01:00:23and you've known the characters.
01:00:25I know the characters.
01:00:26I feel like this is.
01:00:27Well, no, you can't say that.
01:00:29I'm being honest.
01:00:31I know, I just, I'm being shocking you.
01:00:33I know the.
01:00:34The amount of times we've talked about it.
01:00:35I know the Corleone family.
01:00:38I know that Fredo, I did it.
01:00:40I know it was you, Fredo, and it breaks my heart.
01:00:42Kiss him, right?
01:00:43That's his brother, right?
01:00:45What?
01:00:46Fredo Corleone is Albus Ditto's brother.
01:00:48Yes.
01:00:49Kisses him, says, I know that.
01:00:50I know the references.
01:00:52I know that the old guy dies having a heart attack
01:00:55in his garden.
01:00:56Yeah.
01:00:57Right, with his granddaughter around him.
01:00:59And son, I think.
01:01:00Never seen any of the Godfathers.
01:01:03I've only seen them like twice, so that's not that crazy.
01:01:05And the first one.
01:01:06No, it's.
01:01:07The first one I watched in school.
01:01:07The crazy part I was saying is we've made fun of LeBron
01:01:10like a thousand times talking about the Godfather.
01:01:13For reading the Godfather.
01:01:14Right.
01:01:15I have, there's been times where I've tried
01:01:16to watch Godfather II and I feel like it's a movie.
01:01:19It's long.
01:01:20As long as it is, it puts me just like,
01:01:21I've turned it on and I fall asleep.
01:01:22It's so good.
01:01:23And so the Godfather III is the one with De Niro, right?
01:01:26No, Godfather II.
01:01:27De Niro's in all of them.
01:01:29No, De Niro's in Godfather II.
01:01:31But the third one is the one we don't talk about.
01:01:33Third one is just.
01:01:34Just when you turn hours out.
01:01:35I've never seen Godfather III.
01:01:36Yeah, I've seen one and two a million times.
01:01:38I've never seen Godfather III either.
01:01:39But the GIF.
01:01:40Yeah.
01:01:41They pulled me back in.
01:01:42They pulled me back in.
01:01:42That is it.
01:01:43I do want to watch them,
01:01:44but Hank kind of put the nail on the head.
01:01:46It's a good pick.
01:01:46It's a long ass movie.
01:01:47Yeah, you should watch them though.
01:01:49They're great.
01:01:49The first one.
01:01:50You will enjoy them.
01:01:51I know, I know.
01:01:52I'm jealous of you.
01:01:53I know, and I will watch them.
01:01:54The first one I watched in like film school,
01:01:54and the teacher broke it all down
01:01:55so it was more interesting.
01:01:56But I think if I was watching those on my own,
01:01:58like I wouldn't have got past one.
01:01:59Yeah.
01:02:00Okay.
01:02:01For the last pick,
01:02:02I want to say I almost took one,
01:02:03but out of the spirit of fairness,
01:02:05I've seen over half this movie.
01:02:07I've seen probably 60 minutes of it.
01:02:09So I did not take Toy Story.
01:02:11Okay.
01:02:12But I almost did.
01:02:13I've never watched the entire thing.
01:02:15I didn't watch Toy Story until I had kids.
01:02:17Yeah.
01:02:18Like I didn't see it as a kid.
01:02:19Yeah.
01:02:19So I'm going to go with Hunger Games.
01:02:23Never seen Hunger Games.
01:02:24Good pick.
01:02:25Good pick.
01:02:26Good movies.
01:02:27Good movies.
01:02:28Good books.
01:02:29I'm jealous of you if you're able to watch Godfather.
01:02:29I think I've just read,
01:02:30I've realized I've only read books of like movies.
01:02:35Do you ever read the book first?
01:02:36Of movies?
01:02:37You watch the movie, then read the book?
01:02:39Hunger Games, I watched the movie,
01:02:41and then the next movie hadn't been out yet,
01:02:42so I read the book
01:02:43because I wanted to find out what happened.
01:02:45Got it.
01:02:46Catching fire.
01:02:47Okay.
01:02:48Max?
01:02:50I have the same one as PFT is that
01:02:52I don't think that I've seen it,
01:02:54but I may have seen it,
01:02:56so I'm not going to take it,
01:02:57which would have been The Departed.
01:03:00Hank's seen it 17 times in the last two weeks.
01:03:02Yeah, I don't think I've seen it.
01:03:03I've sat next to Hank on two different plane trips,
01:03:06and he's been watching on both plane trips.
01:03:09I was finishing it.
01:03:10It's a good plane movie.
01:03:12Yeah.
01:03:12It was after Missoula,
01:03:13and then I was finishing it.
01:03:16I wasn't watching it again.
01:03:17Okay, okay.
01:03:18You just go back and forth between The Town,
01:03:20The Departed, Good Will Haunting.
01:03:24Big three.
01:03:24It is a nice big three for city movies.
01:03:28The one that I know that I haven't seen
01:03:30that you guys are going to get mad about is Peaky Blinders.
01:03:33Ah, that's not mad.
01:03:35I'm just like,
01:03:35that's kind of like The Godfather with PFT.
01:03:37I'm like, I'm actually kind of jealous.
01:03:39Yeah.
01:03:40Those are so good.
01:03:41Season one is really good.
01:03:42Yeah.
01:03:43So good.
01:03:44They're great.
01:03:45Those are great shows and movies.
01:03:46What city are they in?
01:03:47Birmingham?
01:03:48Yeah.
01:03:49It's got a little Philly in it.
01:03:51It's like the Philly of England.
01:03:52A little grit.
01:03:53Okay, Hank.
01:03:55This one I think about saying every year
01:03:57around Christmas time when the debate happens, Die Hard.
01:04:01I had that on my list.
01:04:02I had that on my list.
01:04:03It's a good movie.
01:04:04Never seen it.
01:04:05Good movie.
01:04:06I don't know if it's a Christmas movie or not,
01:04:06because I've never seen it.
01:04:07Have you seen any of them?
01:04:08No.
01:04:09The Vengeance?
01:04:10I just know there's a tower
01:04:11because they put it in Call of Duty one year.
01:04:13Okinawa tower or whatever.
01:04:15Yeah, Die Hard one is awesome.
01:04:16Awesome.
01:04:17Awesome.
01:04:18So good.
01:04:19I know that Snape from Harry Potter,
01:04:22I believe, is the bad guy of Die Hard.
01:04:24Well, they don't know Snape, so.
01:04:26Yeah, I don't know anything about that.
01:04:29Is Snape the hat?
01:04:31They don't know Harry Potter and we don't know Die Hard.
01:04:33Is the hat that?
01:04:34Yeah, he's a bad guy.
01:04:36He's a bad guy.
01:04:36What's wrong with Harry Potter?
01:04:37A hat tells you where you have to go to school?
01:04:40I guess that's what people do on National Signing Day.
01:04:42Yeah, it's a sorting hat.
01:04:45All right, so my last pick,
01:04:46I'm gonna go back to TV show.
01:04:48All I know about this show
01:04:49is that people were really pissed at the end,
01:04:52but I've never seen a second of Lost.
01:04:54I had that on my list too, yeah.
01:04:56Not a second of Lost.
01:04:56I also only watched that in school.
01:04:58Yeah.
01:04:59Your school played Lost for you?
01:05:00We watched the first season, yeah.
01:05:02I know the premise was awesome.
01:05:05What school did you go to?
01:05:05I forgot what classes were.
01:05:07This was in high school.
01:05:08How hungover were your teachers?
01:05:09The full season?
01:05:10Yeah, dude, every day we'd go into class
01:05:11and watch Lost.
01:05:13It was sick.
01:05:15No, Lost was great.
01:05:16That was the first show I ever binged.
01:05:17I got Netflix when I was in high school
01:05:20and I learned that you could binge TV shows.
01:05:23That was the first one I ever binged.
01:05:24I stayed up until like 4 a.m. every day watching it.
01:05:26What grade did you get in that class?
01:05:28Probably like a C.
01:05:30In the Lost class?
01:05:31It was an elective,
01:05:33but I forget what the premise even was.
01:05:35We watched Lost and we watched the Bear documentary.
01:05:39Oh, Chris and the Bear, yeah.
01:05:40Oh, the guy who got eaten?
01:05:41Yeah.
01:05:42This class sounds awesome.
01:05:43You just watched a ton of TV.
01:05:45I think Hank's teacher was just hungover every day.
01:05:48Was it like a psych class?
01:05:49It was an elective.
01:05:50I forget what the premise of the elective was,
01:05:52but it was a great, great class.
01:05:53It was me and like, I don't know why,
01:05:57I just remember it was me and a lot of females
01:05:58were in the class.
01:05:59There wasn't any other guys.
01:06:00Females, hell yeah, dude.
01:06:01I like that.
01:06:02She rocks for you.
01:06:03Look at that female.
01:06:03Nice job, Hank.
01:06:04That's sick, dude.
01:06:05All right, what do you guys got?
01:06:06Let's do a brain dump.
01:06:08I had Star Trek.
01:06:09I've never seen a movie or a TV show of Star Trek.
01:06:13I don't even feel bad about that.
01:06:13Yeah, no, that's a fucking nerd shit.
01:06:17If somebody were to ask me, like,
01:06:18are you a Star Wars guy or a Star Trek guy?
01:06:20I would immediately say Star Wars,
01:06:22despite the fact I've never seen any of them.
01:06:25Rick and Morty, same.
01:06:26Had that on my list.
01:06:27I've seen a couple episodes.
01:06:28Rick and Morty, people come up to me all the time
01:06:30and they're like, dude, you would love Rick and Morty.
01:06:32They want me.
01:06:33They get mad that I haven't seen it.
01:06:35I had Mad Men.
01:06:36Yep.
01:06:37I had Mad Men.
01:06:38I like started that, but I couldn't put it in good faith
01:06:42because I think I've watched like two episodes.
01:06:44I tried to watch the first episode,
01:06:46got about 20 minutes in, I was like,
01:06:47ah, there's something else going on.
01:06:50I texted my wife to just tell me what haven't I seen
01:06:54because she's like, there's so many times
01:06:55where she's watching a show and I'm watching sports,
01:06:58but she wrote West Wing, Downton Abbey,
01:07:00Mad Men, Friday Night Lights.
01:07:02Oh, Friday Night Lights.
01:07:04I've never seen Friday Night Lights.
01:07:06It's a football show.
01:07:07I saw the movie.
01:07:08Yeah, it's like loosely a football show.
01:07:09No, you gotta watch Friday Night Lights.
01:07:12Yeah, I know.
01:07:14I had never seen Friday Night Lights
01:07:15until like two years ago
01:07:17and I watched the first couple episodes.
01:07:18It seems like it's gonna be a good show.
01:07:21Dexter.
01:07:22Dexter.
01:07:23You're still getting through it?
01:07:24Yeah.
01:07:25Boardwalk Empire, Yellowstone, Lord of the Rings,
01:07:28Harry Potter.
01:07:29Lord of the Rings.
01:07:30Lord of the Rings.
01:07:31Homeland.
01:07:32Lord of the Rings is a big one.
01:07:33Lord of the Rings is a massive one.
01:07:34Homeland.
01:07:36Just watch the first two seasons of Homeland.
01:07:39Yeah, so those are all the ones I haven't seen.
01:07:41She just brained them.
01:07:42She's like, here you go.
01:07:43All these popular shows.
01:07:44Yeah.
01:07:46Okay.
01:07:47I've never saw Indiana Jones and the House of Cards.
01:07:50Those were the two that, the big ones on my list.
01:07:53Should I pick Lord of the Rings over Lost?
01:07:55I didn't know which one's bigger.
01:07:56I think so.
01:07:57You have Lord of the Rings and Star Wars.
01:07:58Lord of the Rings is a banger.
01:08:00Lost.
01:08:01I don't even know.
01:08:02I've never even thought about
01:08:04even like looking at Lord of the Rings.
01:08:05That's how uninterested I am in it.
01:08:07I think the second movie is like three and a half hours long.
01:08:10Never, it's never even crossed my mind to be like,
01:08:13oh, I should check this thing out.
01:08:14Like I don't want, I know there's a Hobbit and a Ring.
01:08:16So probably the reason why Big Cat took Lost
01:08:18is the same reason I was thinking about taking Lost,
01:08:20which is when that show came out.
01:08:21Oh yeah.
01:08:22It was all you talked about.
01:08:25And you had weeks between episodes.
01:08:27So you would just fill in your school week
01:08:29or your work week.
01:08:30Just talk with people about like,
01:08:31what do you think is going to happen?
01:08:32Where are they?
01:08:33So it was like a big part of life in the early 2000s.
01:08:36Yeah.
01:08:38Yeah, that was big.
01:08:39By the way, Hank, we thought,
01:08:40I thought you were going to say The Office.
01:08:43I thought you were going to say that you never seen The Office.
01:08:44Yeah, we thought you'd never seen The Office.
01:08:46That's like the only show I've watched.
01:08:47Oh, why did we get, why'd that rumor start?
01:08:50I love The Office.
01:08:51Oh, we literally watched The Office.
01:08:52I watched The Office.
01:08:53I've never seen The Office.
01:08:53One thing I, that's Shane.
01:08:55Shane's never seen The Office.
01:08:55Shane's never seen any of this.
01:08:57I watched the show.
01:08:58Shane never had a television.
01:08:59I think there's people that watch The Office in real time
01:09:01and then people that watch it after the fact.
01:09:03I've done both.
01:09:05Same, but like I was watching it in real time too.
01:09:07Yeah, I was watching it in real time.
01:09:09The episode after the Super Bowl was like one of the most
01:09:11iconic, iconic episodes of all time.
01:09:13The rumor started that you had not seen The Office.
01:09:16We were just sitting around being like,
01:09:17how did he not see The Office?
01:09:18I might continue to believe that.
01:09:19I mean, like Parks and Rec have only seen a couple episodes,
01:09:22but I have seen a couple episodes.
01:09:23Have you seen Seinfeld?
01:09:24A million times.
01:09:25I had the Seinfeld, Seinfeld DVDs, Office DVDs
01:09:29were like the two shows I had on DVD.
01:09:31I've watched every episode like a million times.
01:09:33People in the office are chatting.
01:09:35They're saying that you've never seen The Office
01:09:37or Seinfeld.
01:09:38Bro, let's go head to head.
01:09:39I'll take you all, maybe not Big Cat,
01:09:40but I think I could go head to head
01:09:42with anyone in this office on-
01:09:44On The Office?
01:09:45I have no idea.
01:09:45Michael Scott Office.
01:09:46I stopped watching after he left.
01:09:48D'Angelo Vickers was pretty good.
01:09:50Yeah, like sometimes I'll go,
01:09:51I'll be scrolling TV and then I'll turn on an episode.
01:09:53I'm like, I haven't seen this
01:09:54and it's because, yeah, Michael Scott left.
01:09:56What was Dwight's cousin's name?
01:09:58Moe's.
01:09:59You have seen it.
01:10:00You're good.
01:10:01Yeah.
01:10:02Also wrote the show.
01:10:03I have no idea.
01:10:04Moe's a cappella group called-
01:10:08The-
01:10:09Oh, I got this one.
01:10:14What the fuck is, it's the song with the mascot.
01:10:17No.
01:10:17Was it Here Comes Treble?
01:10:18Here Comes Treble.
01:10:19Oh yeah, I didn't know that.
01:10:20I didn't know, at first I asked that question
01:10:22and I was like, wait, am I thinking of Pitch Perfect?
01:10:24Can you name one of his co-singers in Here Comes Treble?
01:10:27Yes, Brock Lee Robb.
01:10:29Brock Lee Robb.
01:10:30Yep.
01:10:31Great show.
01:10:32Great show.
01:10:34Hank, I don't think you've ever seen The Office.
01:10:35Can we go see The Godfather together?
01:10:36I can't wait to see The Godfather.
01:10:37Yeah, yeah, I really want to see it.
01:10:39Which one should I start with?
01:10:40One.
01:10:41Okay.
01:10:41I think everyone should have to do one of these.
01:10:43Yeah.
01:10:44One of these things.
01:10:45I'll do all the Fast and Furiouses.
01:10:46And should we, we should do a recap.
01:10:49I'm screwed.
01:10:49I don't have, I don't have anything I can watch.
01:10:51I'll do Gladiator, I guess.
01:10:53Gladiator.
01:10:54I have 10 movies, seven movies,
01:10:55a show that was syndicated and on for 15 years
01:10:59and how many seasons of Lost were there?
01:11:02So many.
01:11:03What's the best Fast and Furious?
01:11:05Cause I feel like you can jump into Fast and Furious
01:11:07at any moment.
01:11:08Yeah, just do one Fast and the Furious.
01:11:09Probably the When I See You Again.
01:11:11I like Fast Five.
01:11:12Okay.
01:11:13I've only seen like the first two, I think.
01:11:14I tried to do a thing where I would like binge
01:11:17Fast and Furious like it was a TV show
01:11:19and then I stopped after like, I think like movie three.
01:11:23Yeah.
01:11:23Before we get to Derek Carr, he's brought to you by Chevy.
01:11:26As everyone knows, this is a Chevy truck podcast.
01:11:28The greatest trucks ever built
01:11:30and our friends at Chevrolet have been a big part
01:11:33of the part of my take story.
01:11:34From the Silverado helping us dig the biggest hole
01:11:37ever dug in Ohio during Grit Week
01:11:39to Silverado partnering with us to give college fullbacks

01:11:44with the Low Man Award.
01:11:45I currently own two Chevys.
01:11:47I got a Chevy SUV and I got the Chevy El Camino
01:11:50which is purring by the way, driving it around town.
01:11:53Awesome.
01:11:54I love Chevy.
01:11:55It sounds great.
01:11:56To our nonstop cross country trip to the Super Bowl in LA.
01:11:58That was behind a Chevy as well.
01:12:00It was a Chevy Silverado.
01:12:02Silverado has been a part of it all.
01:12:04Chevy Silverado is a longtime awesome partner
01:12:06of the show.
01:12:07A truck, it's got unstoppable grit.
01:12:09It's commanding, legendary capability.
01:12:11It's dependable.
01:12:12So find out for yourself like so many other AWLs.
01:12:15Head to chevy.com.
01:12:16Check out all the Chevy truck grit.
01:12:17Build your own Silverado.
01:12:19For do it yourself projects, to road trips, off-road
01:12:21adventures, to tailgates.
01:12:23Whatever your thing is, it all starts with a Chevy truck.
01:12:26Now here's Derek Carr.
01:12:28Okay, we now welcome on a very, very special guest.
01:12:32It is our chill week interviews sponsored by
01:12:35Coors Light and Chevy Silverado.
01:12:36It's four time pro bowler,
01:12:39New Orleans Saints quarterback, Derek Carr.
01:12:42Derek, first of all, thank you for joining us.
01:12:44Absolutely.
01:12:45We appreciate it.
01:12:47Let's start, let's ease in with some golf.
01:12:50How are we feeling about the golf?
01:12:52Golf, the game is nice right now.
01:12:53Okay.
01:12:54I don't know what that means because you can wake up
01:12:56and golf and it could be terrible.
01:12:58Right, right.
01:12:59So we'll see how the weekend goes, but I feel confident.
01:13:02Yeah.
01:13:02Golf's a weird sport where, for me at least,
01:13:04sometimes when I wake up and I feel great, I play terribly.
01:13:07When I wake up and I feel awful,
01:13:09I go out there and I just play really well.
01:13:11So I don't know, it probably says more about me mentally
01:13:13than anything else.
01:13:14Yeah, definitely.
01:13:15For sure.
01:13:16But yeah, so what's the expectation this week?
01:13:18What would you be happy with?
01:13:19Expectation, top 10.
01:13:20That's the expectation.
01:13:21I've gotten better every year.
01:13:23Top 20 last year and-
01:13:25Oh, you're a stick.
01:13:26I mean, I play quarterback.
01:13:28Yeah.
01:13:28We have to be.
01:13:29Yeah, that's true.
01:13:30It's pitchers and quarterbacks.
01:13:31Pitchers and quarterbacks.
01:13:32We have to be.
01:13:33Yeah.
01:13:33And so, hopefully top 10 and then try and,
01:13:35you know, if you got a chance on the last day,
01:13:37go and win it.
01:13:38Yeah, how's the body feeling?
01:13:39Because you, I think you broke the record
01:13:41for most injuries last year.
01:13:43Yeah.
01:13:44What was the full list?
01:13:45Full list, oh man, two concussions,
01:13:47some stuff about my shoulder that was just,
01:13:50it was jacked up.
01:13:50Okay, jacked up shoulder.
01:13:52Jacked up shoulder.
01:13:53And then two different broken ribs.
01:13:56How many ribs have you broken in your career?
01:13:58Oh, I think I'm up to five, five or six.
01:14:04Nobody will ever break the record for Drew Brees.
01:14:06You broke a lot of ribs that year.
01:14:07On that one, on one hit too.
01:14:09Yeah, yeah.
01:14:10Oh my gosh.
01:14:11Yeah.
01:14:12And then just like being a rotational athlete,
01:14:14like I did one, then it got better
01:14:16and then I did the other one,
01:14:17but like you mentioned doing that many at once.
01:14:18I know.
01:14:19And still trying to throw is like, that's miserable.
01:14:21So how long after the season ended
01:14:22did you feel like you were back to 100%?
01:14:24Or maybe the answer is you're not yet.
01:14:26No, I definitely, I feel 100% going into camp.
01:14:28So that's awesome.
01:14:30Okay.
01:14:30I was able to do everything.
01:14:32My shoulder didn't feel good until like probably
01:14:35when we were coming back in in April.
01:14:38That one, it just took a while.
01:14:39Yeah, yeah.
01:14:40That one just took a while,
01:14:40but they told me it was going to take a while,
01:14:42but it is what it is.
01:14:44Yeah, I think Big Cat mentioned this to you
01:14:45when he met you yesterday,
01:14:46but we were feeling for you last year
01:14:49and you were the most injured quarterback
01:14:50and we were just like,
01:14:51not because we had anything against you,
01:14:53we were like, Derek, please take a seat for a week
01:14:56so that Jameis can get in.
01:14:57We just want Jameis.
01:14:58We all love Jameis.
01:14:59We just want one week of Jameis.
01:15:00So he does seem like the best locker room guy ever.
01:15:02Yeah, Jameis is one of the greatest teammates
01:15:04I've ever had in my life.
01:15:05Like there would be things,
01:15:07like if I said something in practice,
01:15:08hey, I need, hey, like this,
01:15:09man, he was like times 10 louder
01:15:12and like, hey, he needs it like this.
01:15:14And like, just as a quarterback,
01:15:15you know, you're walking,
01:15:16I walked into a situation where,
01:15:18you know, he was their guy, you know,
01:15:19and who knows what happened the year before.
01:15:21I didn't pay much attention to it,
01:15:22but I know it was tough on him.
01:15:23Yeah.
01:15:24And now I'm walking in that situation.
01:15:25So who knows what it's going to be like?
01:15:27You know, the organization wants to go
01:15:29in a different direction, all this kind of stuff.
01:15:31But he like blew my mind on just the kind of person he was.
01:15:34Yeah.
01:15:35You know, I love him as a player.
01:15:36You know, we all love watching him
01:15:38because he does not care.
01:15:39No, and it's, yeah, it's like,
01:15:41you know you're going to watch something exciting,
01:15:42whether it be good or bad, it's going to be exciting.
01:15:45It's going to be exciting.
01:15:46Someone's band's going to play.
01:15:47Yeah.
01:15:48We just don't know which one sometimes.
01:15:49But the one thing I love about Jameis is, you know,
01:15:51he doesn't get enough credit
01:15:51for just how good of a player he is.
01:15:53Yeah.
01:15:53You know, because he is hilarious.
01:15:54He is a funny teammate.
01:15:55He has all the sound bites and all that,
01:15:57like the memes galore, right?
01:15:59But he's a great player,
01:16:00but he's just one of the greatest people.
01:16:02Yeah.
01:16:03You know, and you guys know that.
01:16:04Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
01:16:04So you, I mean, you have an interesting career
01:16:06because your older brother, David,
01:16:09gets drafted number one overall, goes to the Texans.
01:16:12I think he broke the record for most sacks taken.
01:16:15Still has it.
01:16:16Still has it.
01:16:17Him didn't take it from him last year?
01:16:17I know, it was like neck and neck for a while.
01:16:19Yeah.
01:16:20Still has it.
01:16:21It was an expansion team, by the way, too.
01:16:23So it's like an impossible spot to get into.
01:16:25You're what, like a teenager when you're watching all this,
01:16:28was there any moment where you're watching it,
01:16:30like football might not be for me because this,
01:16:32I mean, you have to see, like, you're sitting there
01:16:35and you're like, I feel for my brother
01:16:36because he's just put in a terrible spot.
01:16:38Absolutely.
01:16:39You know, just as a, you know, I'm just a kid.
01:16:41I'm like, I'm pretty good at basketball.
01:16:42Yeah, right.
01:16:43I'm a good shortstop.
01:16:44Right.
01:16:45And, you know, but like at the end of the day,
01:16:46I knew what I was just blessed and called to do.
01:16:48You know, football was just,
01:16:50it just came easy to me.
01:16:51And so like, I'm watching that and I was like,
01:16:53well, what a great opportunity for me to learn.
01:16:55Yeah.
01:16:56And I remember Reggie McKenzie, our GM with the Raiders,
01:16:58he said, the reason I want to pick you so bad
01:17:00was you lived, you know, a very difficult thing to watch.
01:17:04Right.
01:17:05And you got, and your brother taught you,
01:17:06you were there with him.
01:17:07Like you were at his house every day.
01:17:08Right.
01:17:09And my brother just groomed me, taught me everything
01:17:11he could, you know, got me around all the guys.
01:17:13And so like football at that point, it was like,
01:17:17that path looks so easy.
01:17:18Yeah.
01:17:19You know, obviously it's not,
01:17:21but you know, just, it looked normal.
01:17:22Right.
01:17:23Right.
01:17:24How hard was it though?
01:17:25Because I, you know, we're fans, we sit on the couch,
01:17:27a guy gets sacked, we're like, get up.
01:17:29Like, you know, like, come on, pussy, get up.
01:17:31But it's your brother and it's your family is watching this
01:17:34and he's going through basically literal torture.
01:17:37Yeah.
01:17:37Was it just like agonizing at times to watch, you know,
01:17:40him try to make it in the NFL and have that go down?
01:17:44Yeah. You know, the hardest part for me was like,
01:17:46I didn't understand the why yet.
01:17:48Cause you know, I'm just 15, 16 years old.
01:17:50I'm sitting there watching it.
01:17:52I don't know why, you know, I don't know what the protection,
01:17:54I don't know what's going on.
01:17:56And the hardest part was watching like my mom,
01:17:58my grandma and like his wife.
01:18:00Like that was the hardest part for me just as, you know,
01:18:03we have a close family.
01:18:03We all love each other so dearly and deeply.
01:18:06And so I felt like their emotions, you know,
01:18:08like watching his wife go through, I'm like,
01:18:10golly, like she's like a nervous wreck every game
01:18:13because like, is he going to be okay after this?
01:18:15Yeah.
01:18:16It wasn't like, are we going to win?
01:18:17It was like, I just want him to be intact.
01:18:19Yeah. Just try not to get sacked more than five times.
01:18:22100%. But you want to talk about,
01:18:24like I always prided myself on being a tough, tough,
01:18:27tough football player, play through anything, all that.
01:18:29But like some of the stuff that he went through,
01:18:31like I was like, that's where I learned it.
01:18:32Yeah.
01:18:33But I didn't, I haven't had to deal with some of the stuff
01:18:35he did, but you know, thankfully, but watching it was hard,
01:18:38but it also gave me confidence to know like, all right,
01:18:41you know, he's like teaching me protections.
01:18:43You know, if you, maybe if you're not so good here,
01:18:45you know, this is a way to fix that.
01:18:46Yeah.
01:18:47It's a really good learning lesson.
01:18:48It's also, I would imagine like difficult because the NFL
01:18:51and all pro sports, a lot of it is the situation,
01:18:54like where you end up and who you're around and,
01:18:57and the situation that you're put in, like,
01:18:59was it difficult for him to watch that and be like,
01:19:02if I had just been drafted a little bit differently,
01:19:04different team, different circumstance,
01:19:06things could have gone a different way for me.
01:19:08Yeah. You know, like he, he won't say it,
01:19:11but like for me watching, now that I know what was going on,
01:19:14I can go back and watch his games.
01:19:15I'm like, holy crap.
01:19:16Like I know what I'm seeing and you know, I go back
01:19:19and I'm like, dude, like he's,
01:19:21he's way more talented than I am.
01:19:23Yeah. He's 240, you know,
01:19:24runs a four six, throws the ball 85 yards,
01:19:27like genius, smart.
01:19:29It's like when he went to New York and he was with Eli,
01:19:31like it was really cool.
01:19:32He's like, I got an organization with like a great team,
01:19:35great system, great defense, all this kind of stuff.
01:19:36He's like, I'd go in the game and it was like,
01:19:38we go right down the field.
01:19:39It was easy.
01:19:40Right. You know?
01:19:41He's like, I never felt football like that since college.
01:19:43Right.
01:19:44So it, yeah, of course you think like, man, what if,
01:19:46what if he was in a different situation, you know?
01:19:49So it'll never happen, but it's a tough one to deal with.
01:19:51Yeah. Cause you just have to sit there and be like,
01:19:53what if?
01:19:54It's interesting because the, where he got drafted,
01:19:56you ended up moving the family moved to Texas, right?
01:19:59And so you played high school football in Texas
01:20:01for a little bit.
01:20:01The fact that he's on the Texans,
01:20:03I know how seriously they take high school football
01:20:05down there.
01:20:06You get like a period in your school day,
01:20:08dedicated to football.
01:20:10The fact that he was with the Texans might've made you
01:20:12a better quarterback just because of the environment
01:20:14that you got to play in,
01:20:15which is kind of crazy to think about.
01:20:17100%.
01:20:18Like I got to play again, you know, Houston, especially,
01:20:20you know, Texas 5A football.
01:20:21Like it was, it was insane.
01:20:23You know, we're going against,
01:20:25we played one team had 11 D1 dudes just on their defense.
01:20:28And you're like, you know, that's,
01:20:29you're not going to get that competition in Fresno.
01:20:31Yeah.
01:20:32Yeah.
01:20:33No offense, but that's my hometown,
01:20:34but I was like, you're not going to get that.
01:20:35So it absolutely helped.
01:20:36And then being able to throw routes to Andre Johnson
01:20:39wasn't bad.
01:20:40That doesn't hurt either.
01:20:41That's a fair point.
01:20:43And one thing your brother's really good at,
01:20:44he is the number one Derek Carr defender.
01:20:47It's true.
01:20:47He's got your back.
01:20:48And it's good to have family in your corner like that.
01:20:51And he will go after anyone
01:20:52that says anything bad about you.
01:20:53When you were, when you were growing up
01:20:55and he was in the league,
01:20:56I know you don't listen to your own media.
01:20:58You know, you got to try to like tune out
01:20:59and not listen to sports talk radio.
01:21:01Yeah.
01:21:02It's rat poison, right?
01:21:02Even if it's good, it's like just false sense of security.
01:21:05But when you're growing up and your brother's in the league,
01:21:08are you listening to,
01:21:09are you listening to what the media is saying about him?
01:21:11And then are you like calling up sports talk radio shows?
01:21:14You're like, this is Derek from Sugar Land.
01:21:16You shut your mouth about David.
01:21:18No, you know what's funny is like back then
01:21:20media was so different.
01:21:21Y'all remember like, it was like blogs.
01:21:23You know, I'm not going on a website to look at a blog.
01:21:26You actually have to like opt into it.
01:21:27Yeah.
01:21:28You have to like choose.
01:21:29I need to see this.
01:21:31And so for me, that was like, it was just newspaper,
01:21:33but like, I'm a teenager.
01:21:34I'm not reading the newspaper.
01:21:35Right.
01:21:36So like, and even like the team,
01:21:38like I would play against people
01:21:40and they would just think it was cool
01:21:42that your brother was in the NFL, you know?
01:21:44And so like, I never, I never had to deal with anything.
01:21:46I don't like what he dealt with or his wife dealt with,
01:21:49but like for me as a kid, like, it was just like,
01:21:51my brother's in the NFL.
01:21:52I got sick.
01:21:53Yeah.
01:21:54Yeah.
01:21:55And then you have another brother, right?
01:21:56Yeah.
01:21:56He's the one who blocks everyone on Twitter.
01:21:58Oh, he's good.
01:21:59I love that.
01:21:59He's ride or die.
01:22:00He's aggressive.
01:22:01Yeah.
01:22:02I think we're all blocked.
01:22:03Yeah.
01:22:04His fuse is about this big.
01:22:06He's like 6'6", 300, you know, bench is 450.
01:22:09So it's like, I mean, he can do whatever he wants.
01:22:12Yeah.
01:22:12And he just, he patrols the streets for you.
01:22:15Do you know that?
01:22:15Like that he just has everyone blocked?
01:22:17I didn't know that he had everybody blocked,
01:22:18but which is hilarious.
01:22:19Yeah.
01:22:20No, I, it's like the most ride or die thing that I love.
01:22:23Because it's like, yeah, it's your brother.
01:22:24Like, of course he's going to block anyone
01:22:26who says shit about you.
01:22:26Of course.
01:22:27And I'll take him blocking someone
01:22:29rather than him reacting.
01:22:30Cause there's times like where he'll react and I'm like,
01:22:32bro, it doesn't matter, bro.
01:22:34Yeah.
01:22:35Like they're doing a job.
01:22:36Like at the end of the day, like if I saw him,
01:22:37they'd probably be like, what's up, Derek?
01:22:38I'd be like, what's up?
01:22:39You know?
01:22:40Right.
01:22:41Right.
01:22:42And so I was like, bro, don't like, don't react to him.
01:22:42But like for him, for me to say that to him,
01:22:44I'm still little brother.
01:22:45So he's like, yeah, bro, like shut up.
01:22:46Yeah.
01:22:47Right.
01:22:48Right.
01:22:48That's probably a good time to bring this up then.
01:22:49You actually blocked me on Twitter.
01:22:50Oh.
01:22:51I did.
01:22:52Yeah.
01:22:53And so what was it about?
01:22:53Well, so I, I, I did some research because when you,
01:22:55I'm not blocked.
01:22:56When you left, you left the Raiders
01:22:58and then you posted like a goodbye statement.
01:23:00Okay.
01:23:01And then the guy sent that in a group chat.
01:23:02They're like, Hey, Derek Carr just said goodbye.
01:23:04Yeah.
01:23:05I couldn't see it.
01:23:06And I was like, Oh, what's going on?
01:23:06He's got me blocked.
01:23:07So Hank looked it up.
01:23:09We did this live on, on PMT like three years ago.
01:23:11Yep.
01:23:12So you tweeted out, this is like seven years ago.
01:23:14Okay.
01:23:15Those who control their tongue will have a long life.
01:23:18Opening your mouth can ruin everything.
01:23:20Yeah.
01:23:20And I replied, are you talking about herpes?
01:23:24So I think that's a fair reply, right?
01:23:26Yeah, that is.
01:23:28Yo, that's so funny.
01:23:30That's a fair reply.
01:23:31Yeah.
01:23:32So I think that's what it did it,
01:23:33but I, maybe you just saw herpes and you were like block.
01:23:35Block.
01:23:36Maybe.
01:23:37Yeah.
01:23:38Cause like that doesn't seem like something
01:23:39I'd block you for it.
01:23:39Usually, honestly, if I block you,
01:23:40it's probably something to do.
01:23:42Someone said something about my teammate or my team or me.
01:23:44Yeah.
01:23:45Cause I, and it has nothing to do,
01:23:46like I had this, this one dude with the Raiders,
01:23:48like media, he was like, you blocked me.
01:23:51I'm like, you probably said something stupid.
01:23:53Yeah.
01:23:53Right.
01:23:54And I just don't want someone to like it or what.
01:23:55And I see it.
01:23:56Right.
01:23:57Nothing is, it's freaking social media.
01:23:59It's not personal.
01:24:00Right.
01:24:01But I was like, my mindset is like, I know I'm emotional.
01:24:04So I try, I have to defend myself to get away from that.
01:24:06Yeah.
01:24:07And so I don't know.
01:24:08I don't think the herpes thing would have got me.
01:24:10Yeah.
01:24:10It could have been something else.
01:24:11But this is the one interaction I think that we had.
01:24:14But I'm totally fine with you blocking me.
01:24:16I think it's probably good for you to block me.
01:24:18You don't need to see my thoughts.
01:24:19That's true.
01:24:20I'm very dumb.
01:24:21Yeah.
01:24:22If everyone in this room is agreeing,
01:24:22I probably should agree with you.
01:24:23Yeah.
01:24:24Yeah.
01:24:25Just keep me blocked.
01:24:26Yeah.
01:24:27Block the list of people.
01:24:28Block all the aggregators.
01:24:29Yeah.
01:24:30Block PFT commentator.
01:24:31If I'm not, if I'm not blocked.
01:24:32So if PFT has something he wants to tweet you,
01:24:34he can tell me and then I'll be like,
01:24:35this is coming from PFT.
01:24:36I think that's a great way to do it.
01:24:37Yeah.
01:24:38And then you can judge from that.
01:24:39And then I'll get blocked.
01:24:40Yeah.
01:24:41That's fine.
01:24:42I don't care.
01:24:42Yeah.
01:24:43That's hilarious.
01:24:44I mean, you, you, you said it.
01:24:45You, you are emotional with you.
01:24:46I feel like everyone has always been like,
01:24:47Derek Carr is one of the best teammates and like,
01:24:49he's the heartbeat of the team,
01:24:50especially with everything you guys went through,
01:24:52that Raiders season, coaches, you know, the,
01:24:56was it rugs?
01:24:57Oh yeah.
01:24:58Yeah.
01:24:59I blanked his, I blanked his name for a sec.
01:25:01Sorry.
01:25:02Yeah.
01:25:03Do you think too that maybe because your eyebrows
01:25:06and your eyelashes are a little dark,
01:25:08people think you're wearing mascara?
01:25:09Everybody.
01:25:10Like I can try.
01:25:11Have you ever worn mascara?
01:25:12Never once.
01:25:12Is a better way to ask the question.
01:25:13Never once in my life.
01:25:14Are you sure?
01:25:15I'll try and prove it to you.
01:25:16Yep.
01:25:17That's nothing there.
01:25:17Nothing coming off.
01:25:18Is it tattooed on?
01:25:19No.
01:25:20I have a lot of tattoos, but no.
01:25:21Do you, do you realize that sometimes it looks like
01:25:23you're wearing mascara?
01:25:24Absolutely.
01:25:25My whole life I had to deal with that.
01:25:27I used to get made fun of when I was a kid.
01:25:29It was my mom's fault.
01:25:30Cause she prayed like that.
01:25:31I'd have like these bright blue eyes and I was like,
01:25:33well God, maybe just made my eyelashes darker.
01:25:35So my eyes looked better.
01:25:36Yeah.
01:25:37Right.
01:25:38Mom, that's really your fault.
01:25:39Yeah, that is.
01:25:39I get made fun of all the freaking time, bro.
01:25:41I'm like, I don't know how else to prove it to everybody.
01:25:43I think you should start wearing mascara.
01:25:45Because then it's like.
01:25:46It would actually be ridiculous.
01:25:47Yeah, right.
01:25:48Like, then everyone's like, what?
01:25:49Like, yeah.
01:25:50Oh, it looks like Derek Carr wears mascara.
01:25:50It's like, yeah, I do.
01:25:51Oh yeah.
01:25:53I got the whole goth thing.
01:25:54The whole, I was like, bro, like,
01:25:56I don't know how else to react.
01:25:58Yeah.
01:25:58I did think that you were the first goth quarterback
01:26:01when you got drafted.
01:26:02Yeah, I expected you to show up
01:26:03wearing like a cannibal corpse shirt.
01:26:05Just like sulking around all the time.
01:26:07Gruden would have had a lot of fun with that.
01:26:08Oh, Gruden.
01:26:09Gruden used to tell me that's what brings it up.
01:26:11It's like, he would be like,
01:26:13we'd have like a bad game or we'd lose.
01:26:14He'd be like, he'd look at me with his little growl.
01:26:16And he'd be like, you love the misery.
01:26:19I really don't.
01:26:20I really don't.
01:26:21Love the misery.
01:26:23Yeah, I mean, he's an all-time football guy.
01:26:24I would imagine he gave it to you guys a lot, I'm sure.
01:26:28Absolutely.
01:26:29You know what?
01:26:29What people don't know about him is like,
01:26:30one, everyone on our team loved him.
01:26:31Yeah.
01:26:32Hands down.
01:26:33He came out and told us everything he said.
01:26:35This is what I said.
01:26:36This is what I meant, guys.
01:26:37Like, hopefully you know me by now,
01:26:38how I feel about you.
01:26:39And we were like, okay.
01:26:40And we went on with our day.
01:26:41We didn't know it was going to lead to what it led to.
01:26:44Yeah.
01:26:44And then, I guess when you call the commissioner
01:26:47certain things, it's probably not going to end well.
01:26:48Yeah.
01:26:49Anti-football.
01:26:50Yeah.
01:26:52That was kind of a cool line, though.
01:26:52Yeah.
01:26:53Not gonna lie.
01:26:54But he just, like, he would obviously rip everybody.
01:26:57He would tell me going out to practice,
01:26:58he's like, look, I'm gonna cuss you out
01:27:00because I need to cuss somebody else out
01:27:02and they need to see the quarterback getting ripped.
01:27:03I'm like, absolutely, dude.
01:27:04Yeah.
01:27:05Like, I don't care.
01:27:06Would he ever go, like, extra when you're like,
01:27:07all right, it's okay.
01:27:08He would keep going and I'd be like,
01:27:11all right, bro.
01:27:11Like, we're about to be squabbling.
01:27:13We did it.
01:27:14We cussed out.
01:27:14Yeah, you proved your point.
01:27:15Yeah.
01:27:16He was great because, like, he had,
01:27:18as you guys see, like, all the clips
01:27:19of him doing that to guys.
01:27:21Like, there's not enough clips
01:27:23of how much he would love on a guy and encourage him.
01:27:25Yeah.
01:27:26Like, any free agent we would sign, veteran,
01:27:28he would put, like, clips of them up in the team meeting
01:27:30and he'd show, like, their three best plays
01:27:32and he'd just be like, look at this dude.
01:27:35You're gonna play your best football for me.
01:27:36This is what we're gonna do
01:27:37and I'm gonna put you in position.
01:27:39And, like, all of a sudden everyone's like,
01:27:40I'll run through a wall for this guy.
01:27:41Yeah.
01:27:42You know, so he just, he doesn't get enough credit
01:27:43for that side of him, too.
01:27:44Yeah.
01:27:45Yeah.
01:27:46Would he just walk around muttering to himself,
01:27:47like, Spider 2, why banana?
01:27:48Oh, yeah.
01:27:49Jeff Leonardo is, like, one of his, like, closest friends,
01:27:52okay, and what Jeff Leonardo would do
01:27:55is any saying he would have or a play
01:27:56that he always said, he'd make shirts.
01:27:58So, we'd come in one day and there'd just be, like,
01:28:00a picture of a spider, two, and a banana.
01:28:03Yeah.
01:28:04And so, every day, it just, he would have sayings,
01:28:06he would literally be mumbling them to himself
01:28:08and the next day Jeff would have a shirt with it.
01:28:09I love it.
01:28:10It was great.
01:28:11He loved running Spider 2, why banana.
01:28:13Absolutely, that was one of our favorites.
01:28:14Was there ever a time where, like, all right,
01:28:16maybe this doesn't call for Spider 2, why banana, coach?
01:28:19You know what's crazy with him
01:28:20is he's the king of that play.
01:28:22He called it, like, I want to say
01:28:24we were, like, 100% on that play.
01:28:25Listen, if it works, spam it.
01:28:27Yeah, he's, like, he's playing Madden.
01:28:28He's just spamming a play over and over.
01:28:30We used to do the why banana, the corner,
01:28:33then we would do, like, the little hide one,
01:28:34you know, you always see, like, you'd look this way
01:28:36and then throw it to the guy wide open.
01:28:38We hit that play, I'm not kidding you.
01:28:39I was, like, there's no way it's going to work,
01:28:41like, four weeks in a row.
01:28:42Right.
01:28:43And it was open every time.
01:28:43That's crazy.
01:28:44Oh, yeah.
01:28:45And you can't shake off Spider 2, why banana.
01:28:46You can't be like, no, we're not running that.
01:28:48That'll be in every playbook for the rest of my life.
01:28:50Yeah, I imagine that you got to spend some time
01:28:51with John Madden as well.
01:28:53I didn't get time, just family members,
01:28:55but, which is, it sucks.
01:28:57Him and Kenny Stabler.
01:28:58Like, I met Kenny Stabler's family,
01:29:00but never got time with him.
01:29:01Yeah, yeah.
01:29:02The other all-time football guy you played with
01:29:06or played for, I know it wasn't your full career,
01:29:08but Pat Hill is my favorite.
01:29:10We actually have a gambling trophy named after Pat Hill.
01:29:13Do you really?
01:29:14Yes, because.
01:29:14I love that.
01:29:15His anytime, anyplace, anywhere, Fresno State teams,
01:29:18where he'd be like, yeah, we'll go play Oregon,
01:29:20then we'll go play FSU, then we'll go play USC.
01:29:23The best.
01:29:24So what was like the recruiting process?
01:29:26Obviously he knew you because your brother,
01:29:28but like, was it a no brainer
01:29:30that you were going to go play for Pat Hill?
01:29:32Yeah, like.
01:29:34Your dad offered you too, right?
01:29:35No.
01:29:36No, no, no.
01:29:37So he called my dad.
01:29:38All right, okay, yeah.
01:29:38So I was in Houston and I was getting recruited
01:29:41like starting in freshman football by everybody.
01:29:44I was like, well, I didn't see this in California.
01:29:47So I'm getting recruited, I'm getting offered,
01:29:48I'm starting to get, well, Pat calls my dad.
01:29:50He's like, hey, this was my junior year.
01:29:52He's like, hey, I'm checking on Dave.
01:29:53How's Dave doing?
01:29:55Because Dave's not going to answer his phone.
01:29:56How's Dave doing?
01:29:57And my dad was like, oh, Dave's doing great,
01:29:59but Derek's waiting for you to call him.
01:30:01And as you could tell, Pat was probably saying a few words,
01:30:04that little MF-er, I didn't know he wanted to come to us.
01:30:07And he offered me like through my dad.
01:30:10My dad was like, hey, Fresno offered.
01:30:12I was like, what?
01:30:13And I wanted to commit right away
01:30:14because like the whole time, I just loved that city.
01:30:18I loved the ramp.
01:30:19I was like, I want to get my name up there next to Dave's.
01:30:23I'd just be like, what a cool thing
01:30:24that would be like just for our family.
01:30:26And he was like, I called him the next day.
01:30:29I was like, I'm coming.
01:30:30He's like, okay, good.
01:30:31Don't tell anybody.
01:30:32Because when we get good players to commit to us,
01:30:34like USC offers, I was like, man, screw that.
01:30:37I told him, and sure enough, USC showed up the next day
01:30:40at my school, like all this.
01:30:41Are you sure?
01:30:42Are you sure you want to?
01:30:43No, I was like, I'm going to Fresno.
01:30:45So it worked out.
01:30:46He's an all-time football guy.
01:30:47My favorite.
01:30:48Oh my gosh.
01:30:49What was he like just like day-to-day?
01:30:51You'll love this.
01:30:52So this is like perfect Pat Hill.
01:30:54He's aggressive.
01:30:56What you see is what you get.
01:30:59But I'll never forget two stories.
01:31:01My freshman year, we kept dropping snaps
01:31:03because I was in the shotgun my whole senior year.
01:31:05So I got to learn how to play under center.
01:31:07Well, I drop a snap and he goes, that's it.
01:31:09Get in here.
01:31:10And he gets down, grabs the ball with two hands like this.
01:31:13He's like, get in here.
01:31:14And he's only wearing grays.
01:31:17I'm like, bro, it was the nastiest snap
01:31:20I ever took in my life.
01:31:21But I got the snap.
01:31:22And then he think, and then right there,
01:31:23he's like, that solved all the problems.
01:31:26So we did that.
01:31:27And then like later in that practice,
01:31:29I remember it was my first practice.
01:31:30And I go to take a snap in like nine on seven
01:31:33or half line run.
01:31:34And I say, I said, hut.
01:31:36And they snapped it too soon.
01:31:37And I break my finger.
01:31:39And it's like out like this.
01:31:40I put it back in.
01:31:41He's like, time to learn how to be tough.
01:31:42Get back in there.
01:31:43So I, man, I went back in there, broken finger.
01:31:46I handed the ball off right-handed all day.
01:31:48But like, that was Pat's way of like pushing you
01:31:51to become a man, you know?
01:31:53And he did that.
01:31:54And it was great.
01:31:54Like those Fresno teams, like he basically was like,
01:31:57we're not afraid of anyone.
01:31:59We know we're not on the same level talent-wise,
01:32:01but it doesn't matter.
01:32:02We'll go play football.
01:32:03And it's beautiful.
01:32:04And it worked for him, you know?
01:32:06And hopefully we can bring that back someday.
01:32:09And talk about spamming plays.
01:32:10There's probably a lot of like Devontae's
01:32:11down there somewhere.
01:32:13Yes, absolutely.
01:32:14Especially with some of the people we were playing.
01:32:15Like, we played one team and literally at the coin toss,
01:32:19this was when me and Tay were like at our peak.
01:32:22Before the game, we're throwing routes
01:32:23and the coaches are like, we have no chance.
01:32:25I threw a ball from like the back 40,
01:32:27like threw it 60 or 70 yards, hit the goalpost.
01:32:29Like, they're like, we have no chance.
01:32:31Come out to the coin toss and like,
01:32:32they had a couple of DBs.
01:32:33And they're like, bro, please take it easy on us.
01:32:35It's a college football game.
01:32:36It's a college football game?
01:32:36I was like, yo.
01:32:37Jeez.
01:32:39I believe it though.
01:32:39Yeah, you guys were electric.
01:32:41What was the scouting process like for the NFL
01:32:43coming out of Fresno?
01:32:44Did you have to answer questions about like,
01:32:46why'd you go to a small school?
01:32:47Because I know they like lean on you on that stuff.
01:32:49Like, they're trying to find any bit of mental weakness
01:32:52that you have.
01:32:53Yeah, 100%.
01:32:54And like, they picked on that a lot.
01:32:57Like, you didn't play against good competition.
01:32:59How are you going to play against the NFL?
01:33:00And then like, you would have to be like,
01:33:02I mean, I did play against, you know,
01:33:03this guy's in the league that played Bobby Wagner,
01:33:05you know, like all these guys.
01:33:07And so like, I was like, I understand I didn't play in SEC,
01:33:09but this was my choice to go to the school I love.
01:33:12And hopefully that just proves my loyalty
01:33:14and what I'll do for a team.
01:33:15Right.
01:33:16Yeah.
01:33:16Was Mark Davis involved in those conversations?
01:33:18I never talked to Mark.
01:33:19No, not before.
01:33:20Not before.
01:33:21Just Dennis Allen and Greg Olson.
01:33:22He seems like the coolest guy ever.
01:33:24Yeah.
01:33:25Have you ever gone to P.F. Chang's with him?
01:33:26I never went to P.F. Chang's, but he was there every day.
01:33:29Yeah, I know.
01:33:30We want, like, that's our dream
01:33:31is to go to P.F. Chang's with Mark Davis.
01:33:33He would absolutely.
01:33:34Yeah.
01:33:34He has to do that.
01:33:35I know.
01:33:37It's not easy for him.
01:33:38Right.
01:33:38We should just show up.
01:33:39Yeah, honestly.
01:33:40He drives a little van around.
01:33:41Drives a little van.
01:33:42He's got a little mini coupe.
01:33:43He's got a lot of cars.
01:33:43Yeah.
01:33:44Yeah.
01:33:45But that guy, he's, I'll tell you this, man.
01:33:46Like, Mark was, Mark has been, and will always be,
01:33:48he's been so good to me.
01:33:50You know, he is like the biggest critic
01:33:52of his football team, but at the same time,
01:33:54nobody loves him more.
01:33:56Right.
01:33:56You know what I mean?
01:33:57Right.
01:33:58And so, yeah, sure, there's times
01:33:59where he's probably super frustrated with me.
01:34:00You know, why didn't we do this?
01:34:02But he just wants to understand,
01:34:03because he didn't come, like, from that football,
01:34:05like, you know, coaching background.
01:34:07Right.
01:34:08And so he just wants to understand the why.
01:34:09Yeah.
01:34:10And so, you know, as he keeps surrounding himself,
01:34:12you know, Tom's there now in the ownership,
01:34:14and it looked like Seymour may join, and all that.
01:34:16Like, as he keeps surrounding himself
01:34:17with, like, football people and all that,
01:34:19and understanding that the process and that,
01:34:22I think that they'll have more success.
01:34:24Yeah.
01:34:24And so.
01:34:25And he also is just swaggy as hell.
01:34:26I freaking love him.
01:34:27The white jeans.
01:34:28All white.
01:34:29Yeah, the white jeans.
01:34:30All white is such a good look.
01:34:30Oh, yeah.
01:34:31I mean, the haircut.
01:34:32Yeah.
01:34:33I mean, you, it's a crazy haircut.
01:34:34There's no one in the world who can pull it off.
01:34:35He told me, he's like,
01:34:36so when I signed my first contract with him,
01:34:38he's like, I'm gonna buy you a car.
01:34:40I was like, all right, sick.
01:34:41Like, do I need to take it out of the deal?
01:34:43He's like, no, don't even worry about it.
01:34:44You know, Ferrari, got you.
01:34:46I was like, sick, man,
01:34:47because we always talk about cars together.
01:34:48And so he's like, I'm coming over.
01:34:50So he comes over, and he pulls out this car about this big.
01:34:54It's a Ferrari.
01:34:55He's like, got it for your kids.
01:34:55I already gave you enough money.
01:34:56Yeah.
01:34:57I was like, this dude's awesome.
01:35:00Oh.
01:35:00Yeah.
01:35:01That's a good prank.
01:35:02Did he get his haircut in the facility?
01:35:04Yeah.
01:35:05I'd love to just be there to watch his hair.
01:35:07He might cut his own hair.
01:35:08He could.
01:35:09I know, I know that there's one person that does it,
01:35:12and wherever that, like, he flies them in.
01:35:16I do know that.
01:35:16Perfect.
01:35:17That's perfect.
01:35:18Yeah, we need to get PF Changs with Mark Davis.
01:35:20Absolutely.
01:35:21He'd be a great interview.
01:35:22Yeah.

01:37:53And now here's more Derek Carr.
01:37:56Speaking of teammates, what was your favorite memory
01:37:59of Antonio Brown?
01:38:00That week?
01:38:02Was it a week?
01:38:02So me and AB, I loved AB.
01:38:05I loved AB.
01:38:06Even at the end, he was like, Derek Carr, good dude,
01:38:09but couldn't handle AB.
01:38:10And I was like, you know what?
01:38:10You're probably right.
01:38:11Oh, my god.
01:38:13That also is kind of telling on himself,
01:38:15like he couldn't handle AB.
01:38:16It's like, well, dude, could you just tone it down?
01:38:18I was like, yeah, you're probably right.
01:38:19And I was waiting for him to say something crazy,
01:38:21because I got like, you know, this
01:38:23is when I got mad at Pat McAfee, actually.
01:38:24Because Pat was like, AB probably
01:38:26couldn't get the ball in practice
01:38:27and probably just wanted to leave.
01:38:29And I was like, bro, I got about 40 clips
01:38:31of I thought I was going to win MVP that year.
01:38:33Getting him the ball.
01:38:34Oh, my gosh.
01:38:35I was like, this.
01:38:36He's the hardest practicing player
01:38:38I've ever seen in my life.
01:38:40And he practices hard.
01:38:42He competes at just a different level.
01:38:45And hopefully, he's a Hall of Famer.
01:38:47Like, as a player, he's a Hall of Famer.
01:38:49Numbers, yeah, are insane.
01:38:50Insane.
01:38:51And I love my time with him.
01:38:53I let him borrow my car when he was in town.
01:38:57He came out.
01:38:57It's like a little four-seater Mercedes.
01:39:00Like, eight people come jumping out of it to come film.
01:39:02I was like, I freaking love this.
01:39:04And it was only, what was it, like two weeks?
01:39:05We had it.
01:39:06Well, it depends.
01:39:08Like, into camp, I think it was two weeks.
01:39:10Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:39:10But he had signed before.
01:39:11So we had him in the off season.
01:39:12So we had a lot of time together throwing.
01:39:13And my man, there's so many freaking stories.
01:39:18I mean, the hard knocks is like, it
01:39:20was just an electric hard knock.
01:39:22My favorite part of that is like, you want to see my feet?
01:39:25I would love to see your feet.
01:39:26I'd need you out at practice.
01:39:28But I'll never forget, he comes out
01:39:29to practice the first time.
01:39:31After all that, he comes out in training camp.
01:39:34He runs a post corner.
01:39:35And usually, we run the post corner.
01:39:37And we want them flat at about 25, 30 yards.
01:39:40This man runs a post corner and takes off to the back pylon.
01:39:42I'm like, oh, crap.
01:39:43I had to throw this thing like 70 yards.
01:39:45He just runs it down, catches it.
01:39:47Ah, it goes like this to nobody.
01:39:49Yeah, yeah.
01:39:50I'm like, wow.
01:39:51He comes running back.
01:39:52He's like, let's go again.
01:39:53He said, throw me a go.
01:39:54He goes over there, runs a go around.
01:39:55I launch this go around.
01:39:56He freaking takes off, touchdown.
01:39:58I'm like, I'm looking at Gru.
01:40:00I'm like, bro, I might throw for 6,000 yards with him,
01:40:03Waller, all these guys.
01:40:04I'm like, holy crap.
01:40:05And then his trainer comes out.
01:40:06Yeah, AB's done today.
01:40:07I was like, OK.
01:40:09You did it.
01:40:09Yeah.
01:40:10I was like, perfect.
01:40:10He showed it off.
01:40:11Just get him to Sunday.
01:40:12Yeah, right, right.
01:40:13You got to bury the lead on that, though.
01:40:15Did you ever see his feet?
01:40:16I did see his feet.
01:40:17Were they messed up?
01:40:18They were messed up.
01:40:19Wait, how did he get frostbite again?
01:40:20It was like in a cryo bath or something.
01:40:22Oh, yeah.
01:40:22He was wearing wet socks in a cryo, which I did not
01:40:25know that was a thing.
01:40:26Yeah, I didn't either.
01:40:27I've never heard anybody tell me that,
01:40:29so I'm glad I didn't walk in there and do that.
01:40:31Yeah, there was the sock thing.
01:40:32There was the hot air balloon interaction.
01:40:34Hot air balloon was awesome.
01:40:35It was great.
01:40:36He had the helmet.
01:40:37He didn't like his helmet.
01:40:37Didn't like his helmet, tried to fight Mike Mayock.
01:40:40Yes.
01:40:40OK, so this was like the most impactful two weeks ever.
01:40:44He was really heard from.
01:40:46I thoroughly, I'll say this.
01:40:48I really enjoyed my time.
01:40:49You sit down one-on-one, you have a great conversation.
01:40:52He is awesome.
01:40:53But then he'll do something that's just hilarious.
01:40:55And everyone would come to me like, Derek,
01:40:57can you go talk to him?
01:40:58I was like, bro, just let him be.
01:41:00If that's the biggest knock on your career
01:41:02that you couldn't handle A, B, I think
01:41:04I like that that's the line where you're like,
01:41:06yeah, you know what?
01:41:06I'm going to agree with the media on this one.
01:41:08I was like, you know what?
01:41:08I couldn't get it done.
01:41:09You know what?
01:41:10I failed you.
01:41:11I'm sorry.
01:41:12I did my best.
01:41:13You do seem like the best teammate ever.
01:41:15And we give you a lot of credit for the way things
01:41:17shook out in Las Vegas.
01:41:19I'll just say, because you won't say, you're too nice.
01:41:21McDaniels was a snake.
01:41:23And the way that whole thing went down,
01:41:25it was very snake-like.
01:41:26And you just put your best face forward.
01:41:28And then you have an opportunity to go out and kind of select
01:41:31your next team.
01:41:32Saints are talking to you.
01:41:33The Jets are talking to you, right?
01:41:35So with the Jets thing, that was weird
01:41:37because you had to know they wanted Aaron Rodgers, right?
01:41:40Yeah, yeah.
01:41:41And the thing which was different in that situation,
01:41:44like Aaron's a nine-billion-time MVP, right?
01:41:47And all that kind of stuff.
01:41:49But you still have to trade for him.
01:41:50Whereas I'm free, you know?
01:41:52And you can still keep those picks.
01:41:54You can still, I was not asking for as much money
01:41:59as whatever your market, whatever they say your market is.
01:42:02I was like, I don't want to do that
01:42:03because I want, wherever I go, man, I just want to win.
01:42:05And so use the money.
01:42:06I don't care.
01:42:07And so that situation, I remember sitting there with Sala.
01:42:09He's like, look, man, we'd love to have you.
01:42:11Like, it's like up to you, you know?
01:42:13I was like, I would love to make that decision right now.
01:42:16Because Robert Sala is, he is like,
01:42:19I am like probably his biggest fan.
01:42:21Like, I absolutely 10 out of 10 love him,
01:42:23would run through a wall for him,
01:42:24even if he's not my coach.
01:42:25I'd still like, if he was like, I need you to do this.
01:42:27Yes, sir.
01:42:28Like, I would do it.
01:42:29And so like that whole situation,
01:42:31that was the hardest thing
01:42:32because my brother knew Coach Sala.
01:42:33And he was like, he knew I love New Orleans,
01:42:36but he's like, you're going to see Sala.
01:42:37He was like, you're probably going to stay.
01:42:39Like, he was like thinking I was going to sign
01:42:41because of Sala.
01:42:42And I remember going there and I was like,
01:42:44I promised myself I had to go through the process.
01:42:47Because I didn't want to sign and then think,
01:42:48well, what did that team think?
01:42:50Or what could they do?
01:42:51And so that was hard.
01:42:53But yeah, I mean, it was a weird situation,
01:42:55but at the same time,
01:42:56like trading for Aaron wasn't a guarantee,
01:42:58for them, you know, at that time.
01:42:59Yeah.
01:43:00So you could have made the decision right there.
01:43:01It was in your court.
01:43:03They were like, we want you to be the quarterback.
01:43:04I could have.
01:43:05Yeah, I could have.
01:43:06But there was, it just wasn't the right time for me.
01:43:09Because there was still like four or five teams
01:43:11that I had to hear from.
01:43:13And so it just, it ended up working out,
01:43:14you know, for really for both of us.
01:43:16Yeah.
01:43:17So then you go to New Orleans.
01:43:18How long after you became a Saint,
01:43:19did you actually start hating the Bucs?
01:43:21It didn't, it didn't take me long
01:43:23because literally like they talk about the Bucs
01:43:27and the Falcons.
01:43:28Obviously.
01:43:28Yeah.
01:43:29Like, I was like, well, I was like,
01:43:30what about the Panthers?
01:43:31You know, like.
01:43:32Yeah, right.
01:43:33But like, like the Falcons and the Bucs,
01:43:34like in our building and like around town,
01:43:37like there was like a real hatred.
01:43:38Oh yeah.
01:43:39For some Southern really kind people.
01:43:40Yeah.
01:43:41They really hate those teams.
01:43:42Yeah.
01:43:43The Bucs, yeah, the Bucs Saints games.
01:43:44I feel like there's been a million fights too.
01:43:46Oh yeah.
01:43:47I know.
01:43:48Yeah.
01:43:49With Lat, Lat's competitive.
01:43:50So him and Mike, they'd be getting after him.
01:43:51Always.
01:43:52You can pencil that in.
01:43:53Like Mike Evans probably will get ejected
01:43:54in the second quarter of this game.
01:43:55Yeah.
01:43:56It's crazy.
01:43:57Cause I know the fan,
01:43:58I think if you were to ask Saints fans,
01:43:59they would say they hate the Falcons.
01:44:01Yeah.
01:44:02Like that's, that's the big one.
01:44:03But in terms of like on the field stuff that we've seen,
01:44:05it's been like Saints, Bucs.
01:44:06Yeah.
01:44:07Just like a, like World War II.
01:44:09Oh yeah.
01:44:10I think there's some like deep personal stuff there.
01:44:11Like where people are just like, I just hate that man.
01:44:13Yeah.
01:44:14Like when we, when we come in that week
01:44:17and you're like, all right, Sean, you got Mike.
01:44:19It's like, he just blacks out like for five days.
01:44:23You're like, oh, he'll be, he'll be ready on time.
01:44:25Yeah.
01:44:25He's ready to go.
01:44:26Yeah.
01:44:27What do you think the media gets wrong about Derek Carr?
01:44:30Ooh, I don't know.
01:44:31Yeah.
01:44:33Or like, what do you, yeah.
01:44:33Like, you know, there's,
01:44:35there's definitely perception about every guy,
01:44:37but it's always good.
01:44:38I always like to give people a chance to be like,
01:44:40Hey, look, like this is who I am.
01:44:42This is what I'm about that people get wrong about me.
01:44:46You know, it's like, I know it sounds so silly,
01:44:48but like, I really have done my best,
01:44:50especially the last few years.
01:44:51Like I just don't read or hear, you know,
01:44:53I try and block all that out.
01:44:55But for me, like, I can tell you like about me,
01:44:57like I'm, I absolutely worked my tail off.
01:44:59I've tried from the beginning to be someone
01:45:01that kids could look at and be like,
01:45:03he does things the right way.
01:45:04Yeah.
01:45:05You know, like he, he grinds, he's maxed out,
01:45:08whatever God gave him, you know,
01:45:10and he's going to be a great teammate
01:45:11and he's going to play consistent,
01:45:14hopefully good football, you know?
01:45:15And I think, I think, you know,
01:45:18the way with the Raiders, how it ended and stuff like that.
01:45:21You know, the one thing I can't get rid of is on Instagram.
01:45:24These people put these lists out of quarterback rankings.
01:45:26Yeah.
01:45:26And I hate those people.
01:45:27Those people are the worst.
01:45:28Where was, no, we're not going to look at ours.
01:45:30I don't know.
01:45:31I don't know what it was.
01:45:32We would attack at 17 just to piss people off.
01:45:34We do, we do them as trolls and it's so much fun.
01:45:36And my brother actually does the same thing.
01:45:37Yeah. Right.
01:45:38He'll be like, yeah,
01:45:39Joe Montana is not one of the greatest,
01:45:40even though, you know,
01:45:41like people just start responding.
01:45:44People get mad about quarterbacks.
01:45:45100%.
01:45:46And so I think like, I think the disrespect of like,
01:45:50you know, some of the stuff I've been able to accomplish
01:45:52and like stuff I've put on film,
01:45:54like even the last half of last year,
01:45:55I was like, bro, I was,
01:45:57the last half of last year was probably
01:45:58my best football I've played, you know?
01:46:00And, you know, 2016 MVP season
01:46:03that people want to talk about in this season.
01:46:04That's like, bro, like,
01:46:06I feel like I'm going, getting better.
01:46:08Yeah. That's awesome.
01:46:09I got comfortable.
01:46:10I feel like I'm getting better.
01:46:11I love my teammates.
01:46:14And I don't know.
01:46:15So I don't know what people are saying,
01:46:16but like, I just feel like,
01:46:17like I'm still that guy.
01:46:18Yeah. You know?
01:46:19Yeah. I'm still that guy.
01:46:20Yeah. And, you know,
01:46:22none of it matters until you go prove it, you know,
01:46:24but we won nine games
01:46:25and we didn't really even play good.
01:46:26Yeah. Yeah.
01:46:27And so. Yeah, you guys,
01:46:28it felt like it was always like one step forward,
01:46:29one step back, or two steps back kind of thing.
01:46:31Yeah. That's how it felt.
01:46:32So hopefully, you know,
01:46:33we can just go out there and prove it.
01:46:34You know, that's what we want to do.
01:46:35But I still feel like I'm at the, you know,
01:46:38at the best part of my game.
01:46:39Yeah. So hopefully I can go out there
01:46:40and prove that this year.
01:46:41I think we had you at 15
01:46:42and I think we had Taysom Hill at 14.
01:46:44Taysom Hill, right.
01:46:46Taysom's the best football player I've ever played with.
01:46:48He really is.
01:46:49He's a jackknife.
01:46:50He does everything.
01:46:51He's unbelievable.
01:46:51Jackknife, Swiss army knife.
01:46:52Yeah. Yeah.
01:46:53There we go.
01:46:54So Ronald Curry,
01:46:55who is the greatest athlete of all time,
01:46:56I'll say that,
01:46:57was our quarterback coach last year.
01:46:58RC was like, bro,
01:47:01when Taysom runs the football,
01:47:02he sees red.
01:47:03Yeah.
01:47:04So I know that you're out there on the edge,
01:47:05probably wide open.
01:47:06He won't see you.
01:47:07Yeah.
01:47:08So we're playing in Carolina.
01:47:09It was Monday night football.
01:47:10We're on the five yard line.
01:47:11He runs a keeper right at me.
01:47:12And I see my corner take off
01:47:15because they're like,
01:47:16they always talk about,
01:47:16don't touch anybody.
01:47:17Yeah.
01:47:18Don't jam a finger for no reason.
01:47:19Right.
01:47:20So he takes off and I slip
01:47:21and I'm open in the end zone
01:47:22and I look at Taysom's face
01:47:23and for the nicest person in the world,
01:47:26I looked at him as the most violent, angry,
01:47:28and he just puts his head down
01:47:30between like three dudes
01:47:30and pretty much trucked them all.
01:47:32Yeah.
01:47:33And I was like, dude,
01:47:33that was like the most violent,
01:47:35impressive thing I've ever seen.
01:47:36Yeah.
01:47:37But he can do everything.
01:47:38He can do everything.
01:47:39He's a force, runs, catches,
01:47:40fullback, quarterback,
01:47:41tight end, receiver, slots,
01:47:43blocks, punts, personal protector.
01:47:45Yeah.
01:47:46I was like, I don't,
01:47:47just because of how stats work,
01:47:49I don't know how it'll work,
01:47:50but like that man is a hall of fame football player.
01:47:53Cause he does every,
01:47:53he's the true sense of a football player.
01:47:55He plays everything.
01:47:56He really is.
01:47:57Yeah.
01:47:58I love it.
01:47:59He just looks at a linebacker
01:48:00and then you just know he's going to run
01:48:00at that linebacker's face.
01:48:02That's it.
01:48:03Like I'm, I see a face,
01:48:03I'm going to run through the face.
01:48:04Yes.
01:48:05I feel like Sean Payton was in love with him.
01:48:07Oh yeah.
01:48:07Sean had a weird man crush on him, right?
01:48:09Absolutely.
01:48:10Big time.
01:48:10Oh gosh, yes.
01:48:11Sean, they like, they taught,
01:48:13I got nervous when,
01:48:14when I came, especially like,
01:48:16I didn't know how,
01:48:17how we handled the cap situation in New Orleans.
01:48:19Somehow they always figure it out.
01:48:20Yeah.
01:48:21They're always in cap.
01:48:22But somehow like all of a sudden
01:48:23we're signing Chase Young.
01:48:24I'm like, how did we just do that?
01:48:25Yeah.
01:48:26But I was like nervous,
01:48:27like, oh man,
01:48:28Sean's definitely going to try and trade for him
01:48:30or try and get him out.
01:48:31But thankfully I'm like,
01:48:33dude, please don't let Taysom go.
01:48:34Yeah.
01:48:35That's my, that's my guy.
01:48:35Like don't let him go.
01:48:36Yeah.
01:48:38Did you have a touchdown?
01:48:39Not in the NFL.
01:48:40I was wide open, Darren McFadden.
01:48:42We ran a wildcat play my rookie year
01:48:43and I'm wide open down the side
01:48:44and he was throwing it
01:48:46and it ended up getting tipped at the line of scrimmage.
01:48:48That would have been my one.
01:48:49That would have been the one.
01:48:50So hopefully.
01:48:51The other football guy we got to talk about real quick
01:48:53cause we're big fans of him is Rich Passaccia.
01:48:55Yes.
01:48:56When he came into the locker room,
01:48:58was it just the vibe?
01:48:59Cause again,
01:49:00that was the season that everything could have gone wrong,
01:49:02went wrong for the Raiders.
01:49:04But he like,
01:49:05we wanted him to get the job.
01:49:07He felt like such a football guy.
01:49:09I would imagine it felt like that in the locker room.
01:49:11Like everyone's just rallying around this guy.
01:49:13Yeah.
01:49:14Man's man.
01:49:15Yeah.
01:49:16Yeah.
01:49:17Man's man cared just as much as he cared about us winning
01:49:19and all that.
01:49:20He cared about you as being a husband and a dad.
01:49:21And like two quick examples of him.
01:49:25Like he,
01:49:27the whole Cleveland game like gets postponed.
01:49:29We don't know if we're taking their flight.
01:49:31Like we're about to get on the plane
01:49:32and they ended up getting us off the plane.
01:49:34So they ended up postponing the game like two days.
01:49:36He's like,
01:49:37guys,
01:49:38next two days,
01:49:39take them off,
01:49:40rest your bodies.
01:49:40And you get your mind right.
01:49:41And prove to me that what I did was the right thing.
01:49:42We came out and we were like the most aggressive
01:49:45I've ever seen our team.
01:49:46Like everyone did it because we didn't want to let them down
01:49:49for giving us those two days off,
01:49:51you know,
01:49:51which I was like two days off before a game.
01:49:53Right.
01:49:54That's insane.
01:49:55You know,
01:49:56but crazy times,
01:49:56but he does that.
01:49:57And then the other thing,
01:49:58he's like,
01:49:59you know what you need to do?
01:50:00He's like,
01:50:01you need to write a letter.
01:50:01And he said,
01:50:02you need to start writing letters and,
01:50:03you know,
01:50:04during this busy time and let your wife know how you feel
01:50:05about her.
01:50:06And I was like,
01:50:07I was like,
01:50:08I'd like write a letter about like team,
01:50:09you know what?
01:50:10Yeah.
01:50:11Right.
01:50:11To your wife and just tell her,
01:50:12thank you.
01:50:13And he said,
01:50:14sometimes I'll do it and I'll put it in the mailbox for my
01:50:15wife.
01:50:16So she'll find it whenever she checks me.
01:50:16I'm like,
01:50:17this guy is the most well-rounded all around person coach
01:50:20I've ever been around.
01:50:21Yeah.
01:50:22And so like he had the heart of our team.
01:50:25We all wanted him.
01:50:26We all,
01:50:26we all are like,
01:50:27okay,
01:50:28we have everything set now,
01:50:29Derek,
01:50:30go figure out how to get Tay here and we're good.
01:50:32And we'll just build on what we have.
01:50:34And they ended up obviously making a different choice.
01:50:36Yeah.
01:50:37Yeah.
01:50:38They did.
01:50:39That was bad choice.
01:50:39Different vibes.
01:50:40For sure.
01:50:41They hired a snake.
01:50:42For sure.
01:50:43Different vibes.
01:50:44Yeah.
01:50:44Yeah.
01:50:45So that must've been an interesting time for you guys.
01:50:46The craziest game,
01:50:48maybe in the NFL,
01:50:49in terms of like the way it was set up and what we almost
01:50:52saw happen was that game where you could have tied the
01:50:55chargers,
01:50:56right?
01:50:56Yeah.
01:50:57Both teams could have gone to the playoffs.
01:50:59Good memory.
01:51:00And it goes into overtime,
01:51:00right?
01:51:01Was it 29,
01:51:0229?
01:51:03Yeah.
01:51:04Was there ever any talk about maybe we just let the team's
01:51:09tie and everybody wins?
01:51:11So I think there probably was on the sideline,
01:51:14but in the huddle,
01:51:15they all of a sudden like,
01:51:16so we,
01:51:17we had a third down and I hit Zay Jones on a bench route.
01:51:20I remember I stepped up,
01:51:21hit Zay.
01:51:22And so I'm like,
01:51:23oh,
01:51:24here we go.
01:51:24Like our mindset was like,
01:51:25go score.
01:51:26This is a rival,
01:51:27kick them out.
01:51:28You know,
01:51:29like our mind,
01:51:29like we,
01:51:30like there was,
01:51:31that was one of the most violent games I played too.
01:51:32Like it was everyone's battling for their life.
01:51:34Basically.
01:51:35And,
01:51:36and then we,
01:51:37we ran the ball.
01:51:38I think we ran it.
01:51:39I'm like,
01:51:39wait,
01:51:40what's going on here?
01:51:41So I remember there was a timeout and I walked over there.
01:51:42I was like,
01:51:43let's end the freaking game.
01:51:44Send them home.
01:51:45Yeah.
01:51:46I was like,
01:51:46even if we miss the kick,
01:51:47like the worst thing that can happen is we get it blocked
01:51:49and they run it back.
01:51:50Obviously I get that.
01:51:51But I was like,
01:51:52you got Carlson who never misses,
01:51:54you know,
01:51:55especially with the game on the line.
01:51:56I was like,
01:51:56let's just get in there and let's run the football.
01:51:58So then Josh ends up making a great run and getting us in
01:52:00position.
01:52:01And then they were like,
01:52:02all right,
01:52:03let's end the timeout.
01:52:03We'll kick it.
01:52:04Cause there was a thought of if we just let the clock run
01:52:06out.
01:52:07Yeah.
01:52:08And Pittsburgh would have hated that.
01:52:09Yup.
01:52:10So I think a lot of fans would have hated that you guys did
01:52:12the right thing.
01:52:13Like you play to win.
01:52:14Yeah.
01:52:14Play to win.
01:52:15Yeah.
01:52:16And,
01:52:17and,
01:52:18and rich was that way too.
01:52:19So maybe they were talking about it,
01:52:19but at the end he was like,
01:52:20no beat them.
01:52:21Yeah.
01:52:22Let's go beat these guys.
01:52:23Yeah.
01:52:24Especially he gets to send his kicker out there.
01:52:24Yeah.
01:52:25Special teams.
01:52:26Like,
01:52:27yeah.
01:52:28Like,
01:52:29let's,
01:52:29let's do it that way.
01:52:30Yeah.
01:52:31All right.
01:52:32Well,
01:52:33thank you so much for being on the show.
01:52:34This has been so much fun.
01:52:34We really appreciate you sitting down with us.
01:52:35How often,
01:52:36this is a tough question.
01:52:37How often have you watched the inadvertent whistle from the
01:52:38Bengals game?
01:52:39Oh man,
01:52:39that was crazy.
01:52:40That's still,
01:52:41I,
01:52:42I,
01:52:43I watched it last night before this interview.
01:52:44Yeah.
01:52:44And the whistle did come after Joe threw the ball,
01:52:45but it still is like the craziest thing.
01:52:46Cause you can see everyone stop playing.
01:52:47Yeah.
01:52:48I mean,
01:52:49I mean,
01:52:49I mean,
01:52:50I mean,
01:52:51I mean,
01:52:52I mean,
01:52:53I mean,
01:52:54I mean,
01:52:54I mean,
01:52:55I mean,
01:52:56I mean,
01:52:57I mean,
01:52:58I mean,
01:52:59I mean,
01:52:59I mean,
01:53:00I mean,
01:53:01I mean,
01:53:02I mean,
01:53:03I mean,
01:53:04I mean,
01:53:04I mean,
01:53:05I mean,
01:53:06I mean,
01:53:07I mean,
01:53:08I mean,
01:53:09I mean,
01:53:09I mean,
01:53:10I mean,
01:53:11I mean,
01:53:12I mean,
01:53:13I mean,
01:53:14I mean,
01:53:14I mean,
01:53:15I mean,
01:53:16I mean,
01:53:17I mean,
01:53:18I mean,
01:53:19I mean,
01:53:19I mean,
01:53:20I mean,
01:53:21I mean,
01:53:22I mean,
01:53:23I mean,
01:53:24I mean,
01:53:24I mean,
01:53:25I mean,
01:53:26I mean,
01:53:27I mean,
01:53:28I mean,
01:53:29I mean,
01:53:29I mean,
01:53:30I mean,
01:53:31I mean,
01:53:32I mean,
01:53:33I mean,
01:53:34I mean,
01:53:34I mean,
01:53:35I mean,
01:53:36I mean,
01:53:37I mean,
01:53:38I mean,
01:53:39I mean,
01:53:39I mean,
01:53:40I mean,
01:53:41I mean,
01:53:42I mean,
01:53:43I mean,
01:53:44I mean,
01:53:44I mean,
01:53:45I mean,
01:53:46I mean,
01:53:47I mean,
01:53:48I mean,
01:53:49I mean,
01:53:49I mean,
01:53:50I mean,
01:53:51I mean,
01:53:52I mean,
01:53:53I mean,
01:53:54I mean,
01:53:54I mean,
01:53:55I mean,
01:53:56I mean,
01:53:57I mean,
01:53:58I mean,
01:53:59I mean,
01:53:59I mean,
01:54:00I mean,
01:54:01I mean,
01:54:02I mean,
01:54:03I mean,
01:54:04I mean,
01:54:04I mean,
01:54:05I mean,
01:54:06I mean,
01:54:07I mean,
01:54:08I mean,
01:54:09I mean,
01:54:09I mean,
01:54:10I mean,
01:54:11I mean,
01:54:12I mean,
01:54:13I mean,
01:54:14I mean,
01:54:14I mean,
01:54:15I mean,
01:54:16I mean,
01:54:17I mean,
01:54:18I mean,
01:54:19I mean,
01:54:19I mean,
01:54:20I mean,
01:54:21I mean,
01:54:22I mean,
01:54:23I mean,
01:54:24I mean,
01:54:24I mean,
01:54:25I mean,
01:54:26I mean,
01:54:27I mean,
01:54:28Just being a Raider, and Raider fans know this,
01:54:30so I'm not being mean about it,
01:54:32we have lost in some crazy ways.
01:54:34That's a fact.
01:54:35In the last 10 years plus, right?
01:54:37And I remember when he broke the line scrimmage
01:54:40and took off, I was like, there's no freaking way
01:54:42we're about to lose like this on a run
01:54:44where they're trying to run the clock out.
01:54:45He threw that ball back in the air,
01:54:47which I've never seen before, and Chandler caught it.
01:54:50And I was like, there's no way Mack tackles him.
01:54:53Yeah.
01:54:54The Chandler's just, Chandler's arms
01:54:56are like from here to there.
01:54:56Not a fair fight.
01:54:57And when he broke that tackle,
01:54:59it was the craziest thing ever.
01:55:00But what I have learned is I tried to hit Mike Mitchell
01:55:03in Pittsburgh one time.
01:55:04There was a fumble, which was a blown whistle.
01:55:06I didn't hear the whistle because it was so loud.
01:55:08And he takes off, I take off,
01:55:09and I hit him as hard as I could,
01:55:11which probably looked just normal.
01:55:12And my whole shoulder went numb.
01:55:14I couldn't move it.
01:55:16And my coach said, if you ever do that again,
01:55:19I just won't play you.
01:55:20And I was like, okay.
01:55:21So now I let people get past me and I just grab them.
01:55:23Yeah.
01:55:24There you go.
01:55:24I'll take a horse call.
01:55:25He has a backpack on him.
01:55:26Just let him go by and then jump on.
01:55:28I threw a pig against Kansas City.
01:55:29I let Breland get in front of me.
01:55:30And then I went and I could chase him
01:55:32and I grabbed him and threw him.
01:55:33Yeah, you just got to show a little bit of effort
01:55:34for the tape.
01:55:35You don't have to make the tackle.
01:55:36Yeah, you just got to try.
01:55:37Yeah, you got to be like, all right,
01:55:37there he is running down the field.
01:55:39That's fine.
01:55:39I tried.
01:55:40I had one last year.
01:55:41I threw a pig against the Rams.
01:55:42It's a terrible throw, but I didn't see the guy throw it.
01:55:46And I'm standing there and I'm like, please cut back.
01:55:48And he runs right at me.
01:55:48I was like, crap.
01:55:50And then finally he cut back.
01:55:51I just jumped on the tackle to try and get a stat.
01:55:53Yeah, right.
01:55:54Yeah, exactly.
01:55:55Well, Derek, thank you so much, man.
01:55:56We appreciate it.
01:55:57It's been a lot of fun.
01:55:59Tell your brother to maybe unblock us.
01:56:01You don't unblock PFT, but tell your brother.
01:56:03We've got a system.
01:56:04I'm not going to, because I like our system.
01:56:05Yeah, but your brother could unblock us
01:56:07and we'll probably get blocked again like two seconds later,
01:56:10but that's fine.
01:56:10That's a part of the game.
01:56:11It's all love.
01:56:12Cat and mouse.
01:56:13I appreciate you guys for it.
01:56:14Yeah, good luck.
01:56:15Thanks so much.
01:56:15Thank you.

01:57:32and Ping Proving Grounds.
01:57:33He's got a book, The Golfer Zoo, great children's book.
01:57:37He is a golf guy through and through,
01:57:39and we wanted to do an open championship preview with Shane.
01:57:44So Shane, let's start with this.
01:57:46Let's start with a,
01:57:48I know you always have great stories and backgrounds,
01:57:50but Royal Troon.
01:57:52Give us the background of Royal Troon,
01:57:54the golf course, and what we should expect
01:57:57when we're watching this weekend early mornings,
01:57:59which I actually love, at the open championship.
01:58:02Yeah, so I went over to Scotland after college, big cat,
01:58:06and actually caddied at St. Andrews for a summer.
01:58:09That was like my job out of college.
01:58:11And I went and played Royal Troon, didn't know much about it.
01:58:13And I walked away and said to myself,
01:58:15my dad was there with me, and I said,
01:58:16this is my favorite Lynx course
01:58:17that I've played to this point.
01:58:19So I love it.
01:58:21This is the 10th open championship.
01:58:21It's hosted first since 2016.
01:58:24Had both some awesome winners and some random winners.
01:58:27Todd Hamilton, of course, beating Ernie Els there
01:58:29back in the day.
01:58:30I think that was in 2004.
01:58:31But this is a pretty demanding
01:58:33driving golf course for an open.
01:58:35You know, you go to places like St. Andrews
01:58:37and you can kind of hit it all over the place,
01:58:39even with fescue up.
01:58:41This is a place where if you start missing fairways,
01:58:43you can find yourself in the gorse.
01:58:45I mean, some of these corridors are really, really tight,
01:58:47and they've done a good job of kind of tightening those up
01:58:49for this open championship.
01:58:50So I love it.
01:58:52It's, you see a lot of water
01:58:53when you play this golf course,
01:58:55probably as much ocean as you'll see play
01:58:57in any of the open road of golf courses.
01:58:59And like I said, I mean, I get obsessed
01:59:01when they return to rural tune,
01:59:02just because it's one of my favorite
01:59:03personal golf courses over there.
01:59:05So with the water, if this golf course is windy any day,
01:59:10is it become almost unplayable?
01:59:13Because I feel like that happens sometimes
01:59:15at the open championship,
01:59:16where if the wind is really whipping,
01:59:17it's like, these guys got no chance.
01:59:20I don't think I'd go as far as to say unplayable.
01:59:22And the word I'm hearing from people over there
01:59:25is that this is a little bit of a greener golf course
01:59:27than some of the ones in the area.
01:59:29The RNA kind of making sure that
01:59:31with some of the weather they're predicting
01:59:32later in the week,
01:59:33that the balls aren't gonna roll off the greens.
01:59:35If you guys remember 2015,
01:59:37Brooks Koepka, when he was not Brooks Koepka,
01:59:38basically told the RNA,
01:59:40I'm not gonna keep playing at St. Andrews
01:59:41because it was so windy.
01:59:42And this was like when he was just the European tour golf
01:59:45or not, you know, kind of the stud that he is now.
01:59:48And that I think is the fear for the RNA
01:59:49is that if it gets super windy
01:59:51and there's that much exposed greens,
01:59:53like you see at St. Andrews and you see at Troon,
01:59:55then maybe they'd have to pull people off the golf course.
01:59:57So I think that's part of the reason
01:59:59you're gonna see a little bit of a greener rural Troon
02:00:01than maybe you'd expect,
02:00:02or even some of the golf courses in the area.
02:00:04Yeah.
02:00:05Okay, so the wind is gonna be the real X factor.
02:00:07Cause I feel like with the US Open,
02:00:10we root for the course.
02:00:11It's our favorite thing to do.
02:00:12Yeah.
02:00:13With the British Open, it's almost like,
02:00:14excuse me, the open championship.
02:00:15Yeah, please.
02:00:16I apologize.
02:00:18You root for the weather sometimes.
02:00:19You root for like the conditions.
02:00:21Yeah, mother nature is like the top pick at this one.
02:00:24I think you could also root for the course PFT.
02:00:27I mean, I think this is a place where
02:00:28they've condensed the golf courses on the road over there.
02:00:31So you only see six or seven courses really.
02:00:34So I think it's a chance to kind of root
02:00:36for your all-star team, right?
02:00:37I mean, you get rural Troon, you get St. Andrews.
02:00:39They, you know, occasionally will pop over to Ireland,
02:00:41but for the most part,
02:00:42there are six or seven places that we know and we love.
02:00:45So you can root for both mother nature and the golf course.
02:00:48Yeah, I like that.
02:00:48So yeah, it's going to be very interesting.
02:00:51We've already got some drama to start the week off.
02:00:53Tiger and Monty are going at it.
02:00:56Colin Montgomery.
02:00:57What did Montgomery say?
02:00:58He said like, maybe it's time for Tiger to retire.
02:01:00Talking about his recent play and then Tiger fired back
02:01:03and said, well, they let you play here
02:01:04for the rest of your life if you win.
02:01:06Yeah.
02:01:07Yeah, Montgomery was basically saying,
02:01:09this is not the Tiger Woods that I grew up watching,
02:01:13that I grew up competing against.
02:01:14The fiery competitor, I think is the terminology
02:01:17he used about Tiger.
02:01:18And he was basically saying, this isn't, you know,
02:01:20this is Roger Federer playing tennis at the age of 50,
02:01:23right, and Tiger fired back and said,
02:01:25I get a chance to play the open until I'm 60 years old.
02:01:27That's basically the cutoff at the open.
02:01:30Colin Montgomery does not get so.
02:01:31Colin Montgomery never won a men's major championship,
02:01:33arguably the greatest player in golf history
02:01:35not to win a men's major.
02:01:37So yeah, Tiger firing back.
02:01:38Listen, Tiger's never going to dig deep into who you are,
02:01:42but he's going to lay lines out like that.
02:01:43Like you remember the Stephen Ames thing,
02:01:45his answer about the talk from Ames
02:01:47back in the match play days,
02:01:48he just simply said nine and eight is what he beat him at.
02:01:51I think this is kind of typical Tiger
02:01:53in terms of the response.
02:01:54I'll say this, I think it's good for Tiger.
02:01:57I think somebody taking a shot at this guy,
02:01:58you know, you guys follow golf, you know,
02:02:01around the major championships.
02:02:02I know you guys follow Tiger Woods.
02:02:04When's the last time somebody took a shot at Tiger?
02:02:06It rarely happens if ever.
02:02:08So if he needs bulletin board material
02:02:10for some reason to get a little bit more fired up
02:02:12and go out there and play well,
02:02:13maybe this helps him this week.
02:02:14You maybe, maybe you even make the cut.
02:02:18That's right.
02:02:18More bulletin board.
02:02:19He's, he hasn't shot around in the sixties
02:02:22since Riviera last year.
02:02:23So that's about 18 months ago.
02:02:25So yeah, anything that could maybe help him
02:02:27go out there and play a decent round of golf
02:02:28would be helpful.
02:02:29Okay, so the other story,
02:02:30Rory coming off of maybe the worst loss
02:02:35you could have as a golfer.
02:02:37He peeled out of the driveway after the US Open.
02:02:42Everybody was safe.
02:02:43He almost hit several people.
02:02:44Yeah, he didn't talk to the media.
02:02:47He released a statement afterwards.
02:02:48So he's talking to the media this week.
02:02:50I saw that also there was a funny story
02:02:52that Tiger texted him two days after,
02:02:54gave him a couple of days,
02:02:55but Rory had changed his number.
02:02:57So he ghosted Tiger.
02:02:59But where do you think Rory is at mentally?
02:03:01Can he win this?
02:03:03He feels like the guy,
02:03:05especially in the last few years
02:03:06where he has been so close so many times
02:03:09and played such great golf
02:03:10and he has nothing to show for it.
02:03:13I think he can absolutely win in any major championship.
02:03:16I think it's so easy for golf people to go,
02:03:17I like Rory this week.
02:03:18Well, you like Rory at every major.
02:03:19He finishes in the top 10 every single time.
02:03:21There's a big difference obviously in finishing
02:03:23in the top 10 and winning.
02:03:24I think for Rory, he can look back at 2011.
02:03:27You know, that complete, you know,
02:03:29like second nine at Augusta National,
02:03:32you know, basically debacle from Rory McIlroy.
02:03:34He started hitting balls left and making huge numbers.
02:03:37And loses the Masters.
02:03:38He won the next major championship after that by eight shots.
02:03:40And that has been something that Rory has been great
02:03:42throughout his career is that kind of bounce back ability.
02:03:45So in that regard, yes,
02:03:46I think it could be a good week for Rory.
02:03:48I don't see this being a great place for him.
02:03:50I just, I feel like the unpredictability of Lynx golf,
02:03:54the weather expected with the high winds.
02:03:56I'll give you guys this.
02:03:57I know you guys are an NFL podcast for the most part.
02:03:59The Masters is a Superbowl.
02:04:01The PGA Championship is opening week of the NFL.
02:04:04Everybody gets excited,
02:04:05but it's not the most important part of the season.
02:04:07I feel like the US Open's kind of
02:04:09divisional championship weekend,
02:04:10where everybody that makes it to that point
02:04:13has a chance to win,
02:04:14but it's going to be very, very tough to do so.
02:04:16The Open is a snow game.
02:04:17There's just so much unpredictability involved
02:04:20in a snow game.
02:04:21Maybe you can throw the ball.
02:04:22Maybe you got to run it.
02:04:23You don't know if you can depend on your kicker at all.
02:04:25That's what I look at here.
02:04:27And you've got to go back to 2010 with Rory.
02:04:29The opening round of St. Andrews,
02:04:31he shoots 63 and should have shot 62.
02:04:33The weather picks up.
02:04:34The wind starts blowing.
02:04:35He shoots 80 the second round.
02:04:36There's just so much unpredictability going into this week
02:04:40and what we should expect from Rory.
02:04:41He played fine last week.
02:04:43I just don't see him as a winner at Royal Troon
02:04:46considering the golf course and kind of the weather
02:04:48and what we expect to see there.
02:04:49I love that you just mansplained golf to us
02:04:51in football terms,
02:04:52but that was the perfect analogy.
02:04:53I get it now.
02:04:54Yeah, like you don't know.
02:04:55You don't know if there's so much snow
02:04:58that it's going to be really good for the offense
02:05:01or there's just a little bit of snow.
02:05:02So it's just going to be a mucky game altogether.
02:05:04I like that.
02:05:05Yeah, it was an aha moment for me.
02:05:07I was like, oh shit, that makes sense.
02:05:09So if we're to pull on that thread a little bit
02:05:12and extrapolate it,
02:05:14LaShawn McCoy was like the greatest running back ever.
02:05:16The greatest snow game play ever.
02:05:19Who is the LaShawn McCoy of golf?
02:05:22Who can play the best in the worst conditions?
02:05:25I think Brooks would be my answer to this.
02:05:27I feel like Brooks is the kind of guy
02:05:30that if it's windy, if it's nasty,
02:05:33if it's fine, obviously he's played well
02:05:34on golf courses with no wind at all.
02:05:36I feel like Brooks is one of those guys
02:05:38kind of like Jack Nicklaus back in the day.
02:05:40Or Jack, sorry, Jack Nicklaus, right?
02:05:42How do you say it?
02:05:42Nicklaus. Nicklaus.
02:05:43My bad, sorry.
02:05:44The famous golfer.
02:05:45But you think back to the way Jack
02:05:47kind of approached major championships.
02:05:49He said, anybody that was a complainer to the US Open,
02:05:51I knew I could beat.
02:05:52I feel like Brooks is very similar in that vein
02:05:54where he goes into these weeks going,
02:05:56I hope it blows.
02:05:57I hope it's nasty.
02:05:58And if it's not, that's fine too.
02:05:59I can still shoot 65.
02:06:01Yeah, go ahead.
02:06:02Can you do a comparison for Bryson DeChambeau?
02:06:04What NFL player would he be?
02:06:08I mean, maybe Aaron Rodgers.
02:06:10Maybe that's the comp for Bryson
02:06:12where you either love him or you don't like him at all.
02:06:15I mean, I know Big Cat has had an interesting relationship
02:06:17with Aaron over the years.
02:06:18I mean, Aaron Rodgers, the one Super Bowl, right?
02:06:21And I mean, if that's his legacy,
02:06:22that'll be a very interesting thing to follow up.
02:06:24I mean, for Bryson,
02:06:26I think the biggest difference for me
02:06:27is Bryson's ability to play these types of golf courses.
02:06:29You think about the way he played Pioneers.
02:06:31He's not winning at Pioneers three years ago,
02:06:33but he's changed his game
02:06:34and he's kind of opened his mind up
02:06:36to playing different types of golf when it asks.
02:06:38The one thing about this golf course
02:06:40is this is the most demanding driving golf course
02:06:42that you'll see all year long
02:06:44in terms of major championship golf.
02:06:45And Bryson can get a bit squirrely with the driver.
02:06:47We know he hits it forever.
02:06:49He doesn't always hit a ton of fairways.
02:06:50So that'll be kind of the thing I pay attention to.
02:06:52Is Bryson willing to hit the driving iron
02:06:55or the long iron off a lot of these tees
02:06:56like so many of the other players?
02:06:57Or is he gonna try to bang driver
02:06:59like we saw at Pioneers all over the place?
02:07:00So this golf course, correct me if I'm wrong,
02:07:03but I've been reading about who to bet on
02:07:06and who has a good chance.
02:07:08And the name Colin Murakawa comes up a lot
02:07:10because this golf course doesn't penalize guys
02:07:14who can't hit it a million miles down the course.
02:07:17So speaking about Arori,
02:07:19his biggest strength is a little bit neutralized.
02:07:23Is that fair to say?
02:07:24And is it a golf course that guys who don't hit it
02:07:27the distance that Rory or Bryson hit it
02:07:29are gonna have just as good of a chance to win?
02:07:32Yeah, the PGA Championship and the US Open
02:07:34have kind of become,
02:07:35and even, I mean, even Augusta National for that matter.
02:07:37I mean, you wanna be able to hit the ball
02:07:38as far as humanly possible.
02:07:40That gives you the best edge.
02:07:41I got a great Justin Ray stat for you on that big cat,
02:07:44Justin Ray on Twitter, who has all the great stats
02:07:46and does an amazing job.
02:07:47He said, since 2014, 55% of the Masters winners,
02:07:50PGA winners and US Open winners
02:07:53have ranked in the top 10 that week in driving distance.
02:07:55None of the last eight Open Champion winners have done so.
02:07:58To your point, you don't have to bang the golf ball
02:08:01to do well here.
02:08:02You look at Brian Harmon a year ago,
02:08:03not a long hitter of the golf ball.
02:08:05He contends.
02:08:06This remains the random major championship, right?
02:08:09This is the one where you can be older.
02:08:12You don't have to be the young dude.
02:08:13You don't have to be the young stud.
02:08:14You can be an older player.
02:08:15We've seen a lot of randomness across the board
02:08:17over the last 20 years
02:08:19in terms of winners at Open Championships.
02:08:21So yeah, I think for Colin Murakawa,
02:08:23you heard him talk after the Masters.
02:08:24He goes, I'm hitting five iron
02:08:26when Scotty Sheffler's hitting eight iron.
02:08:28That's not so much the case at an Open.
02:08:29He can get around in similar fashion
02:08:31to somebody like Scotty Arori.
02:08:33It's a thinking man's tournament.
02:08:35Yeah, absolutely.
02:08:36I think it's a thinking man's tournament.
02:08:37I think it's an old guy's tournament as well.
02:08:38I think this is the place
02:08:40where you can still see someone in their 40s
02:08:42or maybe even in their 50s compete,
02:08:44contend, and potentially win.
02:08:45What about Scotty Sheffler?
02:08:46He's mentally kind of like a 55-year-old.
02:08:49Kind of looks like a 55-year-old as well.
02:08:51He does.
02:08:51I mean, I love Scotty everywhere.
02:08:53This is the one major he hadn't quite figured out yet,
02:08:55but I'll say this about Scotty.
02:08:57He's had an unbelievable year.
02:08:58We talk about his wins.
02:08:59Obviously, he wins the second time at Augusta National.
02:09:02If he goes through this season like he did last year
02:09:05without another of the majors,
02:09:07I think it'll be slightly glaring
02:09:08because when you talk about Scotty,
02:09:10you're talking about one of the greatest of this generation,
02:09:12if not the greatest of this generation.
02:09:14He's only, quote-unquote, only won the Masters, right?
02:09:17So for him to go through these US Opens and PGAs
02:09:19and be close and not win,
02:09:21I think this is as important a week
02:09:23as it is to Rory McIlroy,
02:09:25as it is for Scotty Sheffler in that regard.
02:09:27Because if he doesn't win this,
02:09:29do we look at the season as a great year
02:09:31where he only won one major championship?
02:09:33If he wins this,
02:09:34you're talking about one of the great seasons
02:09:35we've seen over the last 25 years.
02:09:37One of the great seasons over the last 40 years
02:09:39in the non-Tiger division.
02:09:41Yeah, and what about our dear friend Max Homa?
02:09:43Is this a tournament that can shape up for Max's game?
02:09:46Tell us that Max has a chance.
02:09:48Max absolutely has a chance at an Open.
02:09:51I just feel like with the way he can drive the golf ball,
02:09:53he hadn't played great golf as of late,
02:09:54but I feel like Max is one of those guys that,
02:09:57like I said about Brooks,
02:09:58he's one of those dudes that can kind of lean into
02:10:00nasty conditions, winds are up.
02:10:02I'm not gonna let it affect me
02:10:03like some of the other guys
02:10:04that are maybe weaker-minded out on the tour.
02:10:07Okay, I like that a lot.
02:10:08I like that very much.
02:10:09And yeah, I think, listen, we're all rooting for Max here.
02:10:13It feels like the last couple of tournaments
02:10:15he hasn't been at the top of his game.
02:10:16Is that fair to say?
02:10:18Yeah, I think over the last,
02:10:19I think he'd be the first to say
02:10:20over the last five, six months,
02:10:21really since the Masters,
02:10:22he hadn't played his greatest golf.
02:10:24He didn't play great at the Scottish last week,
02:10:26but the Open last year was really important for Max.
02:10:28So maybe he'll get some good vibes
02:10:29from the way he played at the Open last year
02:10:31and go out there and put together
02:10:32something like we saw at Augusta.
02:10:34Okay, so what about long shots or even any picks?
02:10:38Because I will probably bet these.
02:10:39I got so many for you.
02:10:40By the way, I wanted to ask you this question
02:10:43because we were talking about snow games earlier.
02:10:46I think I've never won a bet betting on the weather,
02:10:49like betting the under in snow games or rainy games.
02:10:52How are you in terms of looking at the forecast
02:10:55and then making your bet on that?
02:10:56Snow games are my favorite because everyone thinks,
02:11:00oh, this is going to be an under
02:11:02and they're snowvers for a reason
02:11:04because it's so hard for the defense to get off
02:11:08and to be able to,
02:11:09like when the offense knows where they're going
02:11:11and the defense is trying to figure it out
02:11:13and they're sliding everywhere,
02:11:14that LeSean McCoy game, that had like a million points.
02:11:17So yeah, whenever there's a snow game,
02:11:20wait till the last minute and then hit the over
02:11:23because it always comes down.
02:11:24Everyone bets the under and then you just bet the over
02:11:27right before kickoff and it's usually a good bet.
02:11:29It's gotta be a good,
02:11:30it's gotta be like a good amount of snow though.
02:11:32It can't be just like a light dusting.
02:11:34It has to be real snow.
02:11:35Like you need to be using the plow, not the shovel.
02:11:38Yes, right.
02:11:39Like that's kind of the deal.
02:11:39I like that.
02:11:40All right, I got some names that I like this week
02:11:42and then I got a couple of sleepers for you guys.
02:11:44I like Shane Lowry this week,
02:11:46top 20 in his last two major championships.
02:11:48Been very, very consistent this year.
02:11:49Seems to get good vibes and also he's 16th on tour
02:11:52this season in driving accuracy.
02:11:54So he hits a whole bunch of fairways,
02:11:55already won an open championship.
02:11:58I like Corey Connors this week a little bit.
02:12:00He's played incredibly consistent golf.
02:12:02I think he's made 26 straight cuts.
02:12:04Just feels like one of those guys,
02:12:06the open championship doesn't demand a ton
02:12:08when you get on the greens.
02:12:09That's the part of Corey Connors game
02:12:11that maybe he isn't as good as maybe a Scotty Scheffler
02:12:13or Rory McIlroy,
02:12:14but he is an incredible ball striker.
02:12:16So I like Corey.
02:12:17I like Aaron Rye a lot, the 29 year old Englishman.
02:12:20This just his seventh major championship.
02:12:22He's played incredible golf as of late.
02:12:24I think he's finished in the top seven
02:12:26in his last three starts
02:12:27and he's played well in the majors this year.
02:12:29So those are my sleepers.
02:12:31I got my pick.
02:12:32Do you want the guy I think's gonna actually win this thing?
02:12:34Yeah.
02:12:35I'm going to Adam Scott and he played well last week.
02:12:38So it's not as kind of like shocking of a pick.
02:12:40He's 44 years old, finishing the top 10,
02:12:43hasn't finished in the top 10 in a major since 2019,
02:12:46but I feel like he's one of those guys.
02:12:48It's Adam Scott and Sergio Garcia
02:12:50that shouldn't end their career with one major title.
02:12:53And so I feel like Adam is playing well.
02:12:55He's talked a lot this year
02:12:57about prepping his game around the major championships.
02:12:59Still feels like he has a chance to win one.
02:13:01And you go back to 2012, he came so close,
02:13:03made bogey on his last four holes
02:13:05to lose to Ernie Els by one.
02:13:06I think Adam's going to be a factor this week.
02:13:08Okay.
02:13:09Okay.
02:13:10And you used a word earlier in this interview.
02:13:11I know what it means, but I don't think Big Cat does.
02:13:12So if you could explain it to Big Cat.
02:13:15Gorse.
02:13:16Yeah.
02:13:17Yeah, I'm an idiot.
02:13:17I have no idea what a gorse is.
02:13:18I know exactly what it is.
02:13:19I thought it was a type of duck.
02:13:20I know exactly what it is, but I just don't want to say it.
02:13:23Yeah.
02:13:23I was hoping that you would tell him.
02:13:24Please tell me.
02:13:25Yeah.
02:13:26Some would say it's a horse
02:13:27that kind of hangs out around rural Trune,
02:13:28but it's the big green bushes with the stickers inside.
02:13:32You can't go in there.
02:13:33You can't search for a golf ball, but it is nasty, gnarly.
02:13:36And if you hit it in there,
02:13:37it's basically like you hit a ball out of bounds.
02:13:39So that's the no zone.
02:13:40When I was caddying at St. Andrews,
02:13:43if a player hit it in there and asked me to look for it,
02:13:44I would just kind of like walk slowly away from the player
02:13:47until I couldn't hear him anymore.
02:13:49So if it goes into the gorse,
02:13:50there's a tournament official that comes out
02:13:52and says you can't even look for your ball in here.
02:13:53I mean, you can look for it,
02:13:54but like legitimately the needles,
02:13:56and somebody from the UK
02:13:58is probably going to correct me on this,
02:13:59but I've heard, and this might be like the caddy thing.
02:14:02We used to do this in Scottsdale a lot
02:14:03when people come out to play.
02:14:05I worked at Trune North,
02:14:06and we'd always tell them it was rattlesnake season
02:14:08just simply to keep them going,
02:14:09even if it wasn't rattlesnake season,
02:14:11so they wouldn't go out
02:14:12and spend 20 minutes searching for a golf ball.
02:14:14I heard that there are bacteria
02:14:16on the end of like the sticky parts of gorse bushes.
02:14:19So not only do you get pricked and it hurts,
02:14:21but it also gets infected quickly.
02:14:23Again, that might just be a caddy tale,
02:14:25but that was what I was told back
02:14:26when I went over and looped it.
02:14:28I like that.
02:14:29I like that.
02:14:30Don't touch that.
02:14:31Yeah, they just pull up like a blue injury tent
02:14:33if you get scratched by one.
02:14:35It's what we tell our children
02:14:36that's basically a lie all the time, right?
02:14:38It's like the children stuff.
02:14:39Oh, I had that happen to me.
02:14:41We were on vacation July 4th week
02:14:42and my kids like picked some berries
02:14:45and I was like, do not eat those berries.
02:14:47And then my wife was like, no, they can eat those.
02:14:48Those are like blueberries.
02:14:49And I was like, oh shit.
02:14:50But then you have to explain for every berry now.
02:14:52Yeah, I was like, no, no, don't.
02:14:54Yeah, don't eat random berries.
02:14:55Just say the gorse is hot lava.
02:14:57You can't touch it.
02:14:58Yeah, right.
02:14:59Just say no to everything your children's asking
02:15:01and then you can go back from there is what I've,
02:15:03I've basically learned in my young run of being a parent.
02:15:05Yes.
02:15:06All right, I got one last question.
02:15:08It's rowback question.
02:15:09RHOBACK.com promo code take 20% off your first purchase.
02:15:13Q-Zips, polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts,
02:15:15rowback.com promo code take.
02:15:17How are the pop bunkers?
02:15:18That's my favorite part of the Open Championship.
02:15:20What are the pop,
02:15:21what would you rank the pop bunkers at Royal Troon
02:15:24versus some of the other courses
02:15:25they play the Open Championship at?
02:15:27I mean, some of the best pop bunkers.
02:15:28Oh, hell yes.
02:15:29Great pop bunkers all across the fairway,
02:15:31around the holes.
02:15:32There's a hole you're going to see a lot this week
02:15:34called the postage stamp.
02:15:35Very, very short part three.
02:15:37I think it's the shortest part three.
02:15:39They play on the open road, 123 yards, tiny green,
02:15:42ton of pop bunkers, big cats.
02:15:43So if you don't hit your wedge on the green,
02:15:46you're going to be kind of scrambling to make four.
02:15:48By the way, my dad, only time he played Royal Troon
02:15:51made birdie on the postage stamp,
02:15:53but he basically wanted to walk off the golf course.
02:15:55So shout out to Monty B on the great shot into there.
02:15:57He should have.
02:15:58That's awesome.
02:15:59Yeah, that was a big moment.
02:16:00Walk off after eight, yeah.
02:16:01Is, wait, Monty B, is Bacon not your stage name?
02:16:04No, real name, real name.
02:16:06Wow.
02:16:07I thought it was like a porn star name.
02:16:08Your dad's name is Montgomery Bacon.
02:16:10It wasn't Montgomery.
02:16:11It's just Monty, by the way, Monty Bruce Bacon.
02:16:14So very old school in terms of the one, two punches there,
02:16:17but yeah, Bacon's the way to go.
02:16:19I mean, it's, you know, Big Cat's your name, right?
02:16:21That's the real name?
02:16:22Yeah, yeah, that's my given name.
02:16:23That's, that's crazy.
02:16:24What a name, I mean, that's awesome.
02:16:26Powerful name.
02:16:27Was it one of those names that people made fun of
02:16:28when you were like a little kid?
02:16:30Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure.
02:16:31But then you realize like this rocks.
02:16:32Yeah.
02:16:33Because no one's going to forget your name.
02:16:35When you're five to 13, it stunk.
02:16:38And then I've kind of post 13,
02:16:39people thought it was pretty cool.
02:16:40Yeah, that is a very cool name.
02:16:41Wake up with your friends at like 7 a.m., hit a joint.
02:16:44It's waking bacon time.
02:16:45Yeah.
02:16:46You ever do that?
02:16:47I mean, I may have done that before.
02:16:48How hard is it not to do like every show
02:16:54that you've ever done trying to work bacon into the name?
02:16:56Well, I mean, I get a lot of people,
02:16:58you know, the weirdest thing question I get Big Cat
02:17:00on a kind of a weekly basis is if you give somebody
02:17:02your name, they ask you how to spell it.
02:17:04And I'll always say, how do you not spell it?
02:17:06Like there's only one way to spell bacon, right?
02:17:09But yeah, I don't know if I always squeeze it
02:17:10in interviews, but I might start.
02:17:12I mean, I think that might, could that propel me
02:17:13to another planet, you think?
02:17:14Yeah, yeah.
02:17:16Bacon and fried eggs, the golf podcast.
02:17:18Eggs and bacon, yeah.
02:17:19Yeah, I think there's something to work with here.
02:17:21So wait, going back to the postage stamp,
02:17:23why is it called the postage stamp?
02:17:25I think because it's the green so small.
02:17:26These are the smallest greens on the open rota
02:17:29and the postage stamp is tiny, tiny, tiny.
02:17:31So again, like it's a wedge.
02:17:33I mean, it's kind of one of those hit a good shot
02:17:35or you're gonna make four.
02:17:36And we've seen guys make holes in one there.
02:17:38We've seen great shots, but you can make a huge number
02:17:40on it if you don't hit a great shot.
02:17:41And the wind on Thursday, it's supposed to be very windy
02:17:44on Thursday, the wind's kind of coming in
02:17:46from a different direction.
02:17:47So I think it's gonna be in the face on the postage stamp.
02:17:49So you might see eight iron, seven iron
02:17:51from these players from 120.
02:17:53Oh, wow. Interesting.
02:17:53So one last question for you.
02:17:55There's a Swedish golfer, Eberic,
02:17:58and he seems to be always kind of hovering
02:18:01around the top of the leaderboard,
02:18:02at least recently at some of the majors.
02:18:05From everybody that I've talked to,
02:18:06they say that physically he's one of the best golfers
02:18:08in the world, Barton.
02:18:08Total stud, yep.
02:18:09So is this a course that sets up perfectly for his game
02:18:12or is this one where it's like, okay,
02:18:14he needs more experience,
02:18:15the physical tools don't necessarily translate over?
02:18:18I mean, it would be to me,
02:18:20and I don't wanna like get above my skis here with Ludwig
02:18:23cause he is so young and he hadn't played
02:18:25a lot of these things,
02:18:25but it would kind of be like asking,
02:18:28does this basketball court work for Steph Curry
02:18:30like shooting wise?
02:18:31I mean, all of these, the dude hits it a mile.
02:18:34He hits it incredibly straight.
02:18:36He's an awesome iron player.
02:18:38Really the only thing he's got to figure out
02:18:40is how to kind of close these things out.
02:18:41He struggled in final rounds, but absolutely.
02:18:44Like this golf course, he could play well.
02:18:46He's gonna hit driver a lot when a lot of guys won't
02:18:48because he hits it so straight.
02:18:49I feel like he's one of those dudes
02:18:51that is gonna play well at Open, play well at Augusta,
02:18:53play well at US Opens.
02:18:54Like he's kind of the next it dude, in my opinion.
02:18:57Okay. Okay.
02:18:58I love it.
02:18:59Shane, thank you so much.
02:19:01The finale for the major championships,
02:19:04it's always kind of bittersweet.
02:19:06It feels like, I know there's more golf to play,
02:19:08but it does feel like this is kind of the end,
02:19:11but we're excited to watch
02:19:12and we appreciate all your insight.
02:19:14260 days come Sunday night until the next men's major round.
02:19:18That's the first round of the Masters.
02:19:19So yes, it is a long, long break.
02:19:22Thanks boys. Always appreciate the time.
02:19:24All right. Thanks Shane.
02:19:26Okay. We'll wrap up with Guys on Chicks.
02:19:29Great interview with Derek Carr.
02:19:31Great guy.
02:19:31We're Derek Carr fans now.
02:19:32Great guy. You can't,
02:19:33it's like the Kirk Cousins interview.
02:19:35Yeah.
02:19:36He's such a nice guy that you can't help but root for.
02:19:38And he addressed the mascara allegations.
02:19:40He did, which is good to hear.
02:19:41Yeah. All right.
02:19:41Guys on Chicks. Hank.
02:19:43My husband claims that to be considered athletic,
02:19:45you have to be able to play multiple team sports.
02:19:47In his mind, the best athletes of all time
02:19:48are people like Danny Ainge and Deion Sanders
02:19:50because they excel in multiple sports.
02:19:52According to his logic,
02:19:53people like Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt
02:19:55are not necessarily athletic
02:19:56unless they can play multiple sports.
02:19:57Yeah. Michael Phelps is water merchant.
02:19:58I disagree.
02:19:59This argument started after he claimed
02:20:01that even though I was a nationally ranked figure skater,
02:20:03I'm not athletic because I didn't play sports
02:20:05like soccer, lacrosse, et cetera.
02:20:07Should he be admitted to a mental hospital
02:20:08or am I in the wrong here?
02:20:12I think he has a fair point,
02:20:13which is you can specialize in certain things,
02:20:15but to get to the top of that field.
02:20:17You have to be athletic to be a fucking figure skater.
02:20:20That's not like.
02:20:21His idea is that Michael Phelps is not athletic.
02:20:24I think he's just trying to put his wife down, I guess.
02:20:29Yeah, also saying Usain Bolt isn't athletic
02:20:31is a wilder take, I think,
02:20:33than saying Michael Phelps isn't.
02:20:34The Olympics are just basically for not ball sports.
02:20:37Yeah.
02:20:38Usain Bolt is the fastest human being
02:20:39that's ever existed on planet Earth.
02:20:41He's the epitome athletic.
02:20:42Yeah.
02:20:43And so is Michael Phelps.
02:20:45Michael Phelps, but take away the water,
02:20:47what do you got?
02:20:48True.
02:20:49Probably a guy who would have been an awesome rower.
02:20:52Tight end.
02:20:53Awesome water.
02:20:54Yeah.
02:20:56Yeah, Michael Phelps bum.
02:20:57Yeah.
02:20:58Just some random pothead.
02:20:58So happened to find a pool when he was young.
02:21:00Sucks.
02:21:01Come on the pod, Michael.
02:21:02Thought it was a gravity bomb.
02:21:04Yeah.
02:21:05My girlfriend has paid for a wedding venue
02:21:07for a wedding on May 31st
02:21:08and has started buying everything for it.
02:21:10The kicker is we just went ring shopping
02:21:12and I haven't proposed yet.
02:21:14Do you think this is strange?
02:21:16Yeah.
02:21:16Wait, so you're engaged, but not engaged.
02:21:20She got you engaged by renting a venue.
02:21:24But those things fill up.
02:21:25So she acted fast.
02:21:27But yeah, that's,
02:21:31I'd be worried.
02:21:32I'd be a little worried.
02:21:33That feels also like after you get married,
02:21:37she's gonna like,
02:21:39she's gonna name your children
02:21:41before you're pregnant kind of thing.
02:21:42Oh, she's already got them named.
02:21:44Yeah.
02:21:45That is a weird thing to do.
02:21:48There's a notebook somewhere in your house
02:21:50with your signature with your boyfriend's last name.
02:21:53Yeah.
02:21:54My third child went
02:21:58almost 72 hours without a name.
02:22:01We were just like, we don't know.
02:22:02Mail.
02:22:04Cause we were like, it hurts.
02:22:05It's like, all right, we'll figure it out.
02:22:07It's like, we were tossing around different names.
02:22:10And then finally, when we like had to leave the hospital,
02:22:11they're like, you need a name to leave the hospital.
02:22:14So.
02:22:15I'm curious, just from her perspective,
02:22:17do you feel like a little bit of a psycho
02:22:19getting a wedding venue rented out without being engaged?
02:22:22Yeah, you gotta be.
02:22:23This has gotta be the girl that's like,
02:22:25all her friends are already married.
02:22:26Yeah.
02:22:27Like she's on.
02:22:28Yeah, she's trying to, yeah.
02:22:29Yeah, no, she's already got the,
02:22:31she's already probably got a house picked out,
02:22:33where the baby room's gonna be, everything.
02:22:35Yeah.
02:22:36She's got her vision board.
02:22:38You gotta propose to him.
02:22:39And he just hasn't said yes yet.
02:22:40Yeah.
02:22:41All right, last one.
02:22:42Not that we don't want you to break up, but.
02:22:45At what point do you.
02:22:46Watch out.
02:22:47Watch out.
02:22:48At what point do you start thinking to yourself,
02:22:50like, he hasn't asked me yet?
02:22:53Oh, she's definitely.
02:22:54Like, but.
02:22:55Also, who goes ring shopping?
02:22:56But actually, no, maybe.
02:22:57It doesn't become a worry.
02:22:57Do guys and girls go ring shopping together?
02:23:00No, usually it's like, best friend.
02:23:02Yeah.
02:23:03We just went ring shopping.
02:23:04But also, PFT, I think she.
02:23:06I thought that's the whole point.
02:23:07She might also be the type of girl
02:23:10that just doesn't care that he's not asked.
02:23:11Like, we're doing this no matter what.
02:23:13Whether you ask or not.
02:23:14Yeah.
02:23:15We're getting married.
02:23:16There's gonna be some tough questions
02:23:16you'll have to answer come Thanksgiving.
02:23:18Yes.
02:23:19Regardless of whose house you go to.
02:23:21Yes.
02:23:22All right, last one.
02:23:22My boyfriend plays in beer league hockey
02:23:23and we first started dating.
02:23:25I went to everyone, but lately with life stuff,
02:23:27I haven't gone much.
02:23:28The last fee I went to was the only.
02:23:32The last fee.
02:23:33Last time, I guess.
02:23:34I'm assuming it's the last time.
02:23:34Last time I went, last game I went to,
02:23:37I was the only wife-girlfriend there
02:23:38and worried that maybe I shouldn't go anymore
02:23:41because I didn't want to intrude on a guy's thing.
02:23:43I guess my question is,
02:23:44do guys like it when their girlfriends
02:23:46go to stuff like that for them?
02:23:48Does it make a difference if I'm there or not?
02:23:50No.
02:23:51I feel like when I ask my boyfriend,
02:23:52he doesn't want to make me feel bad for not going,
02:23:54but I also don't want to intrude on guy time.
02:23:56Yeah.
02:23:57Since the last few times I was the only girlfriend there.
02:23:59Yeah.
02:24:00Do not go.
02:24:01And also, when you're the only woman in the stands,
02:24:03what do you think his teammates are talking about?
02:24:05Yeah, do not go.
02:24:06I don't, don't go to your boyfriend's intramural games.
02:24:12Guys want to feel athletic.
02:24:13They don't want to think about how their girlfriend's
02:24:15looking at them and being like, you are not athletic.
02:24:17And they also want to be able to have the freedom
02:24:19of always being like, do you want to grab a beer after?
02:24:21Yes.
02:24:22And they want to be able to come home
02:24:23whenever they're done with that beer
02:24:25and tell you how great they played and lie to you.
02:24:27And if you were there, then they can't do that.
02:24:29And they also want to be, they want to say,
02:24:31hey, I'm grabbing a quick beer with the team
02:24:33after I'll be home in a little bit and have six beers
02:24:37and be home in a lot a bit.
02:24:39Yeah.
02:24:39He wants the freedom to go on like a road trip
02:24:41with his beer league team.
02:24:43And sleep like six people in a one bed hotel room,
02:24:47get hammered until like five o'clock in the morning,
02:24:49smoke cigarettes and not have you be like,
02:24:51hey, when are you coming home?
02:24:53Credit to you though,
02:24:54because you at least had the awareness.
02:24:57Yeah.
02:24:58Feels like you were halfway there.
02:24:59Yeah, step one.
02:24:59Yeah.
02:25:00Okay, good show boys.
02:25:02But on a heater, heater, let's do numbers.
02:25:0620.
02:25:0728.
02:25:0856.
02:25:08This is going to be 20.
02:25:09Today's going to be 20.
02:25:10Three.
02:25:11No, it's not.
02:25:12Today's going to be 20.
02:25:13Okay, number three.
02:25:14I'm picking 20.
02:25:15Shane Pugh.
02:25:1621.
02:25:20How about just 20?
02:25:2399.
02:25:23PFT, did you pick?
02:25:24I picked eight.
02:25:26How about 20?
02:25:27Three, three, three.
