00:00Keith, let's take a look at the top of the board here on the Open Championship here at
00:06the FanDuel Sportsbook.
00:07Scottie Scheffler plus $4.50 price.
00:09Next closest is Rory McIlroy at an $8.00 to $1.00 price.
00:12They're the only players currently right now with a $10.00 to $1.00 price or better.
00:15Shawflay Morikawa, Oberg, and also DeChambeau.
00:19Looking at the top of that leaderboard, are we seeing things correctly?
00:22Should Scottie still be that heavy favorite here at the Open?
00:27Scottie should still be the heavy favorite based upon the resume that he's put together
00:30so far this year, and I'm a little afraid because of it, Pinehurst, that T41 result
00:35might be a little bit motivating, more so than the rest of the guys want.
00:39We had a great week last week in Scotland, not having Scottie around and having those
00:43short odds.
00:44I know that he'll be in contention come Sunday, but you have to look at, in three Open Championships,
00:50he has a, what, an eighth, a 21st, and a 23rd, right?
00:54So it hasn't been his best major championship so far in his career, and when you start to
01:00get the wind and the putting and the slower greens over there, those types of challenges,
01:05one thing, Scottie being the super favorite in this field, I might lean a little bit more
01:13towards a guy that grew up in Northern Ireland.
01:16Top 10, minus $1.65 for Scottie Sheffler over at the Open Championship.
01:21It is in minus money at minus $1.65.
01:25You mentioned you might lean to another favorite that grew up in Northern Ireland.
01:29Is that Rory McIlroy, second best price on the board at plus $7.50.
01:34Of course, the end of the U.S. Open, the disaster at Pinehurst that allowed Bryson DeChambeau
01:40to win the 2024 United States Open.
01:43We saw Rory return to professional and competitive golf last week at the Scottish Open, finished
01:48in the top 10.
01:50The last time he won a major championship was way back in 2014.
01:55He won two, the PGA Championship and the Open Championship as the Champion Golfer of the
02:01Year.
02:02There is always drama and narrative following around Rory McIlroy-Keith at a major championship
02:07because it's been that decade-long drought.
02:10Might it be snapped this week at Royal Troon?
02:14I think it's his time, Ben.
02:15That's my early lean on the early line.
02:17That's for sure.
02:19I am not usually a Rory fan and or backer, but after the reset and what we saw last week
02:25in Scotland, his T4 finish and the ball striking and everything else and what seems like the
02:31revitalization or the rehab to his brain seems to have finally taken place.
02:36Forget the piff, forget the divorce rumors, forget all of that stuff.
02:39A month off, Rory's back at home across the pond where he likes to be, where he learned
02:44to play the game.
02:45I think he's completely revitalized and I really do think that that plus 800 number
02:51is super live this week for him.
02:53I mean, he has been so consistent in major championships.
02:56Rory's had nine top tens in his last 13 major starts.
03:00Since he won twice before the PGA, look at what he's done.
03:0312th, 4th, 15th, 2nd at Pinehurst, 4th there at the Scottish Open.
03:07I mean, he's definitely trending from a ball striking perspective and guess what?
03:13If there's one championship and a fan base that is going to completely support him and
03:18push him through there at Royal Troon for this test this week, I think that Rory's the
03:23man to beat.
03:24There's not a doubt in my mind.
