Summer is always a busy time for us. We kind of go from one huge project to another, and
00:08
then all of the projects that are going on in the background. So we've had a big sustainability
00:12
drive recently, and kind of linking up all the sustainability projects that we're working
00:16
on. We're working, we've got Old City Sounds coming up at the end of August, so that's
00:24
a big one that we're working on at the moment. There's all sorts of things to do with cleansing
00:28
and safety and all of the good stuff that makes Bristol a destination, basically. It
00:34
makes it safe, approachable, and a lovely place to come to for everyone involved.
00:40
And in terms of the Light Festival, tell me what is happening with that this summer?
00:45
Yeah, so we had Bristol Light Festival at the beginning of February 2024, and we had an
00:50
installation there called Bristol is Always a Good Idea that was installed at Valentine Bridge
00:55
on Temple Quay. It went down really well with visitors, and Bristol is Always a Good Idea is
01:04
just a lovely sentiment, and we thought it would work well with all of the good stuff that goes on
01:09
during the summer months. So yeah, Bristol is Always a Good Idea, the installation was by an
01:15
artist called Hackney Dave, a London-based artist, and he kind of plays with the idea of advertising
01:22
language and propaganda within art. So Bristol is Always a Good Idea was born out of an idea that
01:30
he had around some postcards. So we have now got this Bristol is Always a Good Idea sign,
01:36
and we've installed it in Millennium Square, which is available to view just in front of
01:42
the Planetarium at the moment, and will be there until the end of July. Around that we're doing a
01:48
wider campaign to remind residents and visitors of Bristol that Bristol is Always a Good Idea,
01:55
and there's all this fun stuff that goes on throughout the summer.
