So, as ever, there has been loads on in the city this week. So, Adriana, can you tell
00:07
me what is our first hot news story?
00:09
Well, a major route is set to close for 10 nights and one weekend. The A4 portway is
00:17
set to close in both directions from January 13 to February 2. This is to cut down some
00:27
trees which have been infected with ash dieback along the A4 portway. The works will be taking
00:35
place over three phases. On week one, between Park Road to Sylvian Way. Week two, between
00:43
Sylvian Way and Bridge Valley Road. And during the weekend, between Bridge Valley Road and
00:49
the A4 portway from Sylvian Way.
00:52
The Camberland Basin flyover, also known as Brunel Way A3029, will remain open throughout
00:58
the works. However, during the weekend closure on the 1st and 2nd of February, the slipways
01:04
onto the A4 portway will be closed.
01:10
Thank you, Adriana. So, shall we move on to our second hot news story? Tell me a little
01:14
bit about that.
01:16
M&S has finally confirmed an opening date of the much-anticipated new Bristol City Centre
01:22
store. A new display board outside the former House of Fraser and Cavert Circus says M&S
01:30
is moving into the unit in Autumn 2025. A Bristol Shopping Centre cinema is set to reopen
01:36
under a new operator after its closure a year ago. Odeon are taking over the running of
01:43
the 14-screen facility within Cavert Circus. The news follows a number of new openings
01:50
planned for Cavert Circus, including Kingpin's Bowl and Treetop Golf in place of Jungle Rumble.
