00:00Ann Jones films as four officers try to put her 18-year-old grandson into the back of
00:07a police van. Not long after, the situation escalates.
00:11I have to say personally that I'm very concerned with what I've seen.
00:17Within hours of the incident, Geraldton Superintendent Steve Post stands beside Ann Jones offering
00:22a full apology.
00:24I fell backwards. He pushed me backwards and knocked me off balance. So that's why I just
00:32went back and hurt my spine down the lower back here and up here I ended up with a big
00:37lump on my head.
00:38We're sorry for what has happened to you today and that's not pre-empting anything that might
00:44come out of the investigation because the investigation still has to be conducted.
00:49It's understood WA Police Commissioner Cole Blanche has also spoken with Ms Jones. Police
00:55internal affairs are travelling to Geraldton for the investigation.
00:59But I do ask for the greater community for calm over the weekend whilst we conduct the
01:06investigation.
01:07Ann Jones has spent all week at the inquest into the death of her daughter JC, shot by
01:12police while holding a knife and scissors in a Geraldton street.
01:16Very, very disgusted. This is the fifth day now and then this happened to me this morning.
01:23Family advocate Megan Cracker says while she is concerned about police investigating police,
01:29the overall response was positive.
01:31Obviously we're going to have to wait and see what the outcome is, but the conversations
01:35have already happened and that's a really strong thing in terms of Western Shrine Police.
01:39The officer involved has been moved to administrative duties while internal affairs investigate.
