Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Tuesday that the U.S. will soon announce an additional $2.3 billion in security assistance for Ukraine, to include anti-tank weapons, interceptors and munitions for Patriot and other air defense systems.

00:07Thanks for your close and continuing partnership.

00:10Now, Ukraine is in a tough fight and has been ever since the start of Putin's reckless war

00:16of choice.

00:17The Kremlin continues to intensify its bombardment of your cities and civilians.

00:25But I continue to be impressed by the skill of your forces, and your troops continue to

00:29fend off Russia's attacks with grit, ingenuity, and courage.

00:35And I am proud that the United States will soon announce more than $2.3 billion in new

00:41security assistance for Ukraine.

00:44This package, under presidential drawdown authority, will provide more air defense interceptors,

00:49anti-tank weapons, and other critical munitions from U.S. inventories.

00:55It will also enable the United States to procure more Patriot NASAMs, air defense interceptors,

01:01which will be provided on an accelerated timeline by the re-sequencing of deliveries for some

01:08foreign military sales.

01:10We look forward to discuss with you how we could continue our partnership and be in future

01:17member of NATO.

01:20Probably soon Ukraine will receive its invitation, but at the moment we will discuss the issues

01:31how to increase our capabilities and plans.
