U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth is pushing for a historic $1.5 TRILLION U.S. MILITARY BUDGET, arguing that a massive increase in defense spending is critical to counter China, strengthen America’s military capabilities, and rebuild the domestic defense industrial base. The proposed budget would accelerate the development of AI-powered weapons, millions of attack drones, robotics, hypersonic weapons, and advanced military technologies. However, the proposal is also sparking political debate over America’s national debt, rising interest costs, and ongoing military operations. As Washington weighs the future of U.S. defense spending, the big question is whether this unprecedented military investment will reshape America’s military strategy and intensify global competition with China.

00:00We're rebuilding our military with the best equipment and leadership to ensure that our warfighters have every advantage and they're
00:06never in a fair fight.
00:08That's why we had a historic trillion dollar budget last year in investment and we plan to spend even more
00:14in the future and we're asking for a 1.5 trillion dollar investment to make a generational investment to ensure
00:21that we remain the strongest and most powerful military in the world.
00:24And those types of investments, by the way, translate directly into high paying jobs for American manufacturers like the Sierra
00:32Nevada Corporation.
00:41That's why we have no higher priorities, a department that ensuring that a reconciliation bill at a minimum of 350
00:47billion dollars, but maybe more, is passed as soon as possible to ensure that all the deals that have been
00:54made and arranged ways in which we're investing in manufacturing, the priorities of President Trump are actually invested in.
01:02That we send that long term demand signal to industry to continue to invest.
01:06We're committed to it, but we're also committed to doing it in a way that showcases we're a different kind
01:11of department.
01:12You know, the Department of Defense and now Department of War has never passed an audit.
01:17Never, even though Congress has mandated that we pass an audit in this administration, in our building before 2028, we
01:24will pass a full audit of the Department of War to know where every dime is coming from.
01:30We trust you with our nation's most vital assets, which is why you're constructing the next generation's survivable airborne operations
01:38center, the very aircraft platform that I'm standing in front of today.
01:42In a doomsday scenario, Sayoc provides the president with unbreakable command and control.
01:47No other nation on planet Earth has these types of capabilities, serving as our nation's ultimate insurance policy in a
01:55no-fail mission.
01:57Now, I could go on and on about the systems I saw today.
02:00I'll mention just one.
02:02The Brawler air defense system and the Mauler, also proving highly effective in active high-threat combat environments.
02:09Again, speed and adapting on the edge, open architecture, prepared to integrate.
02:16Today, our combatant commanders are employing Brawler and Mauler to shield our forces from asymmetric attacks in at least two
02:23critical theaters.
02:26And at the exact same time, we're taking our legacy aircraft, which is such an important aspect of what I
02:31saw today, and turning them into connected weapons systems.
02:34SNC is partnering with the Air Force to quickly turn existing transport planes into flying communications platforms that can transmit
02:43secure data over any available signal, even when an enemy is attempting to jam those communications.
02:49Your contributions are marking the end of slow-moving bureaucratic procurement models and the beginning of rapid, dominant, and combat
02:59-fielded and tested American firepower.
03:03Washington, D.C., the folks that operate there, the lobbyists, political types, they don't understand what you do.
03:10They couldn't do a day in your shoes.
03:13You know, the finger-in-the-wind crowd.
03:14They don't know what it means to build what you build.
03:17You see, before President Trump instilled the kind of urgency in American manufacturing and our defense industrial base,
03:24Washington was full of folks who understood the art of sitting back and collecting a paycheck and leeching off the
03:31labor that built this great country of ours.
03:33Producing nothing, building nothing.
03:35Worse than that, Washington was content to outsource our jobs, outsource our supply chains, outsource our industrial base,
03:45in the name of globalism or anti-American trade agreements.
03:51You see, President Trump stood up boldly, both in 2016 and two years ago, and said,
03:58I reject this failed status quo.
04:02That we need Americans who still roll up their sleeves and build.
04:05And you are those very builders of that very arsenal that guarantees our freedoms.
04:11You see, we've gone around the country in this Arsenal Freedom Tour meeting with great companies and innovators
04:16and sending the signal to our great companies and our innovators who are, when they are unleashed,
04:23they're allowed to run fast, that the Department of War is open for business.
04:28Not for show, not for peacetime, but with urgency and for victory.
04:34A lasting victory, one that will secure the freedoms that we so cherish for generations to come.
04:41Not just for me, not just for you, but for my kids and your kids and my grandkids and your
04:46grandkids.
04:47It's that kind of generational investment.
04:49Certainly, in this 250th anniversary, we have to recognize that we stand on the shoulders of generations of Americans
04:57who, if they weren't carrying a rifle, they were manufacturing the tools that went in the industry
05:02from wars at home to wars abroad to ensure that peace was preserved through strength.
