00:00The national contingent will be sporting a fiercer striped patterned attire at the 2024
00:07Paris Olympics.
00:09This comes after the previous design was panned as being not distinctive enough, Olympic Council
00:14of Malaysia President Norza Zakaria said in a statement.
00:18The new design features a black background with bold, prominent yellow stripes on the
00:21front and back of the jackets.
00:25In terms of the gold-coloured t-shirts, the OCM said it has retained the same design
00:29and motif but it has changed the colour of the OCM logo, which was previously gold, to
00:34now reflect the colours of the Jalur Gemilang.
00:37Norza said the new design symbolises the spirit of the tiger, which has been the Malaysian
00:42contingent's identity since it was first introduced at the 2005 SEA Games in Manila.
00:48The previous design, which was unveiled last month, drew brickbats from sports fans and
00:52netizens who labelled it ugly and cheap-looking.
