00:00Hello and welcome to another video, today we'll be looking at this, this is the Datamax,
00:09or Datamax depending on how you pronounce it. It is an accessory for the Nintendo DS
00:14made by Datel, which is known for making a number of cheat devices for different consoles.
00:19This one is a Japanese version, I've looked up Datamax and I can't really seem to find
00:23much about it, so let's open it up and have a look.
00:53Let's see if it is in all boxes. So on the front it says Datamax for the Nintendo DS
00:57and DS Lite. It comes with a disc, USB cable and the device itself. It looks like an Action
01:04Replay, I believe at least. This part on top was the Action Replay. I'll probably check
01:11that and put it in, but it's a normal looking DS cartridge, there's a bit of a bulge at
01:15the top. A bit of information, let's look at the back. So you can connect it to your
01:21computer. Got Datel Japan. Looks like there's a seal here, that one's not opened, the other
01:32side is, so let's open it from this side. OK, so that's everything in it. We have the
01:42cartridge, it looks quite big. It might just be because it's got this big plastic on the
01:51top, but it looks quite large, it looks larger than a normal DS cartridge, but of course
01:57if it was it wouldn't fit into an original DS. And it's got a DS cartridge there just
02:03to compare it to. And as you can see it is the same size. In this little tray we also
02:11have a USB cable. One side it's just USB type A, the other side, it's not micro USB or mini
02:22USB as you'd expect, it's some other USB. I'm not exactly sure what type of USB it is.
02:32We also have an instruction manual. Looks like it explains how to use the program, which is on the
02:40computer. And here we have the disc. So Datel DS Lite. OK, so made in England. This is in the back
02:55of here, it's got a slot for a DS cartridge. Let's put one in. It might go upside down. There
03:10we go, it's also got a little cable. So I imagine we can also use this to backup saves and maybe
03:18even dump forms, but I'm not exactly sure. I'm going to put it into the DS, just the cartridge first.
03:26And we can have a look at it. So there we go. That's powered on. Rather than having to pick it up, I'm just going to take the
03:49stylus out, I'm going to use this stylus. Just have to quickly set it up. It looks like it's turned off, I'm not exactly sure, is that a battery?
04:13I guess it said no DS cartridge. In case it says no DS cartridge, let's try inserting this. And let's turn it off and on again.
04:30Still nothing. Still nothing detected. I'll have a go playing around and hopefully I can figure out how to go to detect the cartridge.
04:51Okay, so I managed to get it working, so let's turn it on and have a look. So as you can see, it says Dynamax detail on the bottom, and on top it's got these four options.
05:08That one was blank, but I did fill it in when testing it out. So you can use the X and Y buttons to change the position of which screen is for which. So I'm going to swap it around like that. The touchscreen doesn't seem to be used for anything in the actual app.
05:27Anyway, we can see we've got four options. So we have what looks to be save to the computer, three to save, some edit feature, and then let's go back. Comes out of this menu. I've tried with the software on the CD as well, just in the time being.
05:51Before I start recording again, I can't seem to get it to connect. I've made sure the USB is plugged in properly. I've also tried different versions of the software that I've managed to get online, none of them seem to work. So let's try putting the game in it.
06:08I should add that when I tried it with the software, I of course did try it with the game when I was doing that. OK, we're at the top. Still the same, so not really much I can show. There was one screen I managed to get when I had the USB plugged in.
06:32OK, let's turn it off and on again. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it up again. It doesn't look like it can. I'm not sure if I should plug the USB in. But sometimes it came with some screen that said something about transferring data or updating some connection screen.
06:53But if I can't get it up again, I guess that's it. If you enjoyed this video, don't forget to like the video, comment down below what you thought and any of these future videos and subscribe, so you don't miss any videos like this in the future. Bye.
