00:00Well, you mentioned it, Pete, the consensus finally, unlike the NBA draft, the consensus
00:08for the number one, we all, we're all on the same page, but what happens at number two
00:12now with Chicago?
00:14What did they need?
00:15Where do you think they're going to go and will it move the needle one way or the other
00:19for this franchise?
00:21Right.
00:23So you remember Chicago got Conor Bedard in the draft last year, of course, the generational
00:29number one center.
00:31He won the Calder trophy he delivered.
00:33I think they need to shift the focus to defense.
00:36And what a great draft to be able to do so, where you could make a case for six different
00:40guys at the defenseman position to go on the top 10 of this draft.
00:45Maybe it'll be in the top 11.
00:47The Sharks actually traded up for the number 11 pick from 14.
00:51So really interesting there, maybe they could nab one of these defensemen, including Carter
00:57Yechemchuk, who scored 30 goals as a defenseman in the WHL last year.
01:04So that's really good stuff.
01:05The Sharks maybe could double up there on him.
01:08But yeah, the big debate here is like Artem Levshinov from Michigan State.
01:13I compare him a lot to Zeve Buoyum from Denver, both freshmen defensemen in the NCAA, Michigan
01:22State this year, Michigan State's been terrible in college hockey for so many years, but they
01:27burst onto the scene and Levshinov was a huge reason why.
01:31But like to me, I don't know, I'd rather probably be back a couple of spots or maybe even take
01:35a bold call on Zeve Buoyum from Denver, about the same size, actually was better than a
01:42point per game last year in the NCAA, and Denver won the national championship.
01:47Whereas Michigan State and Levshinov, about the same age, but he was fewer than a point
01:53per game.
01:54Levshinov is projected to go at number two by most outlets, including NHL.com.
02:00But I wonder if that's going to be a comparison between Levshinov and Zeve Buoyum for the
02:04years to come.
02:05And maybe the team that gets Buoyum a couple of picks later might win out.
