I especially love swimming in the River Wharf and there's lots of lovely places to swim there.
00:03
It's a beautiful spot to have on our doorsteps. I think we're really lucky but what a shame that
00:08
it's not a clean place to swim and I started swimming I guess during Covid when it seemed
00:14
less of an issue but now I'm cautious about swimming there because I've got several friends
00:17
who've got sick from swimming there and I really think that it's a hot topic and whoever wins the
00:23
next election should make it a priority to address how polluted our waterways are because there's no
00:29
reason for it really. It's in the hands of the water companies to do a better job and I think
00:35
there needs to be more legislation and also more scrutiny about them improving how they're
00:41
disposing of their waste. I do go to the coast quite a lot, I love Scarborough mainly. A lot of
00:46
my family they live in Bridlington, my uncle lives on the coast of Scarborough so I can understand if
00:52
the coast is being polluted that's really going to affect my family. There needs to be more tighter
00:56
legislation, a watchdog with teeth you know that sort of thing.
