Here's today's Derbyshire Times Video Bulletin.
00:03
The multi-million pound regeneration of Claycross is underway with the official naming of a
00:08
planned new town square and the demolition of a much-loved leisure centre to make way
00:12
for a community hub.
00:14
Work on the £24m Claycross Town Deal scheme features four main parts including a newly
00:19
launched town centre location called Bailey Square which will be part of a redeveloped
00:24
area supporting a day and night time economy for residents and businesses.
00:28
Claycross Town Board Chairperson Lee Barnes said,
00:31
I am extremely eager to unveil Bailey Square to the public. It will be a pace to host some
00:36
amazing events, make some fantastic memories for those attending and will become a household
00:40
name to visitors and residents of Claycross as a substantial leisure space at the heart
00:45
of the town.

An historic Derbyshire school closed due to budget issues could be converted into an impressive
00:53
forever home after being put on the market for more than half a million pounds.
00:58
The former Worksworth Infant School in Harrison Drive was closed by Derbyshire County Council
01:03
last summer after more than 100 years but is now set for a new lease of life.
01:08
Plans filed with Derbyshire Dales District Council would see the former school, which
01:11
had just 31 pupils on its roll at the time of closure, converted into a home for a family.
01:17
A document filed with the applications details that the former infant school remains owned
01:21
by the Derby Diocesan Board of Education which had advertised it for sale in January with
01:26
offers in excess of half a million pounds.
01:29
The document details that a family's offer has been accepted by the board but is conditional
01:33
on obtaining planner permission to convert the school into a home.
01:37
The plans will be decided by the District Council in the next few months.
