00:00We went on the interview and then they tell us that out of the interview 40 of
00:06us was selected. They gave us a date to come back and then we went back on that
00:10date and on that day they inform us that we are now employees, we are
00:15successfully chosen out of the panel of a hundred and something people, 40 of us
00:20and we are now employees of the TRHA. While in that meeting they take our shoe
00:27size, our pan size, our shirt size and inform us within the next couple of
00:32weeks we would be working. Marvin Brasnell, one of the persons affected,
00:36Mr. Brasnell told the TV6 News since January the TRHA conducted an
00:42orientation with 40 of them promising that they would be called in one week
00:47but to date they have heard nothing more. They also inform us that we must
00:53write a letter to our present employer informing them that we are now
00:59employees of the TRHA to make room to bring in somebody else. So as a result of
01:05that I did it immediately. I left my job, I write a letter to my present
01:10employer which I was working for for nearly eight years. I left my job with no
01:14benefit and all telling myself well then I would be, I'm now an employee of the TRHA.
01:18I have my children to see about. I have my little son who was recently
01:23diagnosed as autistic so of course expenses will increase and no job. I
01:30have a family to provide for and to roll over every morning to actually watch my
01:35wife and kids to see well all the time I was jolly about being part of the TRHA
01:41and then now to hear this kind of news it hurt me, it hurt my family. I actually
01:44visit Miss Faith on Tuesday and asked her about it. Her response was that it has a
01:50loophole. When contacted by TV6 News Chief Secretary Farley Augustine stated
01:55that the matter is being actively looked at. I asked the Secretary of Health to
02:01investigate the matter and to provide a report not just to me but to also speak
02:06to the public about what might have transpired there and if there if there
02:10was an issue if something went wrong that it needs to be rectified. Mr.
02:15Brasnell said the group is now looking at their legal options in the matter. We
02:20came here to see the Chief Secretary this morning unfortunately he was not
02:24here. We didn't see him, we didn't see anybody else. That's the reason why we
02:29tried to reach out to you because we need our voice to be heard. We are asking
02:33that the relevant people and them who is responsible for what is taking place to
02:38do the right thing. Other than that we have no other choice more than to seek a
02:43lawyer and to take the TRHC to court. Elizabeth Williams TV6 News.
