00:00This is the Aspark OWL SP600, the recently unveiled supercar from Japanese carmaker Aspark,
00:07and it might just be the fastest electric car ever built. The automaker says it can reach speeds
00:12upwards of 273 miles per hour, or around 15 miles per hour faster than the previous top speed,
00:19set by the 2024 Rimac Nivera. The recent speed record was set on June 8th at the automotive
00:25testing Pappenberg in Germany. This is just the latest speed record broken by the Aspark,
00:29setting others last year. The most recent iteration of the vehicle was in association
00:33with Italian automotive design and development firm Manifattura Automobili Torino, with Aspark
00:39calling the most recent version an evolution of the original Aspark OW. The speed record
00:44involved several days of track testing, including virtual and physical. It also included wind tunnel
00:49tests putting the newly minted vehicle through its paces. The land speed was certified via
00:54RaceLogic V-Box, which is an extremely precise GPS-based measurement device provided by the
00:59testing facility. Previous record attempts have seen the vehicle reach speeds of around 261 miles
01:05per hour, with the final day of testing reaching the 273 mile per hour landmark.
