Samara Weaving explains her acting process, detailing how she provided different versions of the final scene in 'Ready or Not' — one serious and one hysterically funny — to help define the movie's unique tone.

00:00One of my favorite stories about the first movie is in the final scene that it was your call to
00:05laugh
00:05as everybody is exploding around you.
00:10I think because tonally it walks such a fine line
00:16that I wanted to make sure in the edit they had whatever version they needed of that specific scene.
00:24So there was a version of that final scene where I'm taking it very seriously
00:29and, like, truly shocked and horrified.
00:32And, yeah, I thought, oh, I'm going to let me do one more where I just laugh
00:36because that's what the audience might react to.
00:39Like, it's a funny thing.
00:41And so if I'm laughing, the audience knows, like, oh, we're allowed to laugh.
00:45And it's kind of a weird thing, human response.
00:50So I tried to do the same thing in the second one, just give them options
00:55so that depending on what scene follows it or what's coming afterwards,
01:01do we need this scene to have a little bit more levity or do we need to bring it down?
01:06That's really an ode to Matt and Tyler, though,
01:08letting the best idea come out of left field and win.
