The poverty rate in Argentina has increased from 44.7% to 55.5% of the population and the indigence rate from 9.6% to 17.5% during the first quarter of 2024, according to a report published Monday by the Observatory of the Argentine Social Debt (ODSA) of the Argentine Catholic University. teleSUR

00:37 quarter, where it registered 9.6%. According to the study that determines poverty based on the
00:44 value of the basic food basket, poverty in urban areas reached 24 million people,
00:51 and almost 8 million are living in extreme poverty or indigents.
