00:10Our correspondent Henry Camelo has more.
00:14Hello, greetings to you and the Telesur audience.
00:17In the midst of the second government shutdown of Donald Trump's second presidential term,
00:22tonight he will address Congress and millions of Americans,
00:25among whom, according to the most recent polls, he continues to lose support, and even more so, trust.
00:32The latest surveys show President Trump's approval ratings below 34%,
00:37and among Latinos, they have fallen from 44% to just 25%,
00:43the lowest approval rating any president has ever had in U.S. history.
00:48According to the allies and critics,
00:50Trump will obtain to justify 30 months of accelerated immigration regulation,
00:56a record number of executive actions,
00:59and massive staff cuts in federal agencies,
01:02as well as a fierce crackdown on immigrants,
01:05a stagnant, low-growth economy,
01:08the Supreme Court's legal setbacks that declare
01:11the position of global tariffs without congressional approvals illegal,
01:15and, of course, what analysts consider the growing achievement of Donald Trump's presidency,
01:21the global scandal surrendering the alleged involvement
01:25and close relationship with the deceased convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
01:31Trump continues to deny his involvement,
01:33despite several emails revealed in the Epstein files
01:37directly implicating him in these criminal activities.
01:41Many Americans expect Trump to continue busting about his administration's
01:47supposed triumphs in economy, immigration, and foreign policy matters,
01:51which have provoked the rejection of millions of citizens
01:55who, since the beginning of his presidency,
01:58have not stopped peacefully protesting in the streets of the country's major cities.
02:03The speech will be televised at 9 p.m. instant time
02:07amongst television stations across the country.
