00:00 I'm Carl, Carl Young, the head of music and talent for Vivo.
00:02 I oversee our label and partner relationships across the UK and our key European markets.
00:07 And essentially our team oversees the video delivery into the Vivo network
00:12 and we oversee the communications back to the labels, whether it's programming, editorial
00:16 or part of our booking strategy for our Vivo Originals.
00:19 The Great Escape is obviously one of the most important new music festivals.
00:22 I've been coming here, as I said, since I was 16 years old.
00:25 I love it. It's a great hub for music and just general artistry.
00:30 And we're here as Vivo. We're hosting a networking brunch.
00:33 So we've invited all of the festival delegates to come down to meet the team.
00:36 We've got the whole design team.
00:37 They've decked out every room to speak to the Vivo brand messages,
00:40 to all the opportunities to watch more music.
00:43 But also we've invited our label partners as well and artist communities
00:47 so they can come and just hang out with us and just, you know,
00:50 have a real casual catch up really with all of our partners,
00:53 artists, managers, labels, distributors and all the delegates.
00:58 Our business is ever growing.
00:59 Like, you know, we have, we're one of the world's leading, you know, music video networks.
01:03 And we distribute a lot of that music video content from the partners that we're licensing from
01:07 to various different endpoints.
01:09 YouTube being one that we're very well known for,
01:11 for having like a big network and a big presence in that environment.
01:14 But we also distribute music video content to connected TV devices,
01:17 which is a huge growing area.
01:18 So we're definitely seeing a lot more appetite.
01:20 We're seeing audiences grow.
01:21 We're seeing, you know, different partners, you know,
01:23 developing their product to have more access to our content.
01:28 So connected TV is a space that we're really growing into.
01:30 So like music video is really coming back to the living room.
01:32 And we're seeing that there's lots of opportunities
01:35 from a programming perspective, from a monetization perspective,
01:38 but also just like where the audience is growing,
01:40 just make sure that we're putting artists content where the audience is really.
01:43 So that's what we're seeing, you know, happening.
01:45 And this is a trend we've been seeing over the few years.
01:48 Brighton for me, particularly, also growing up in the South Coast as well,
01:50 it's a very special city because there's lots of opportunity.
01:53 There's lots of other universities, there's lots of colleges,
01:55 lots of creatives that kind of congregate here beyond just music.
01:58 And it really kind of harvests like that amazing community that not only,
02:02 you know, really helps develop like local talent
02:05 because of the opportunities with the venues and just the art scene,
02:08 but also it attracts a lot of talent as well.
02:10 People are coming to the city to be part of like a music community.
02:13 And I definitely think Brighton's great because well,
02:15 A, it's by the sea, which is always lovely.
02:17 But there's already like a lot of history here with music,
02:21 with artists, with venues as well.
02:23 And there just seems to be lots of opportunities.
02:25 And I just think, yeah, it just really helps cultivate talent.
