00:00So let's start with a pitcher.
00:04Let's go to Detroit.
00:05What do we have?
00:06Yeah, we got to start with Reese Olsen.
00:09You really got me on that last.
00:10That was very good.
00:11I got to say it was really good, but Reese Olsen has been really good for the Detroit
00:17Tigers.
00:18Reese Olsen, a guy in the minor leagues who struggled a bit, struggled with walks at times,
00:24strikeout rates always been interesting, but he is not always been the guy that you were
00:28looking for in terms of dependability, but it's an anything but.
00:31Now you might say to yourself, why do I want to pick up a guy who doesn't have a win yet
00:34on the season?
00:35My pitch is for the Detroit Tigers.
00:36Give the guy a break.
00:37Okay?
00:38It's not going to be a lot of wins here for the Detroit Tigers.
00:40This is not going to be the case.
00:42However, if you look at the numbers so far, besides that, a 209 ERA over those eight starts,
00:49a .99 whip, 47 innings pitch, 41 strikeouts.
00:54So again, we're a little under where we want to be, but we're close.
00:57We're in the ballpark.
00:59But in the last few weeks too, the last, you know, 15 games, just unbelievable in the pantheon
01:07of Tigers pitchers of lore, you know, we've been waiting for the Mises and the Mannings
01:12and all these guys.
01:13Well, scruples finally developed into something that was better than what anybody thought,
01:17you know, he would be.
01:18I'm not saying Reese Olsen is that next guy, but what I am saying is if you're looking
01:21for help with peripherals, if you're looking for a guy on two start weeks or good matchups,
01:25and we're going to talk about him later in the show, because guess what?
01:28He does have a two-star week coming up.
01:30Reese Olsen should not be available right now.
01:32And he's available in a lot more leagues.
01:34He's available right now in 40% of leagues.
01:35So if you're desperate for some pitching help, again, wind totals might be tricky, but at
01:39least while he's hot over these first eight starts, maybe you get another good eight starts
01:43out of him.
01:44Maybe this is just the new version of Reese Olsen, where he's not trying to, again, max
01:48VLO everything.
01:49And he's trying to just, you know, find a little bit more of that fine tune art craft
01:53of pitching.
01:55This version of Reese Olsen is the best one I've ever seen.
01:57It's far better than the minor league version, and he's young enough where you can believe
02:00that this could be just a developmental step.
02:02It's not two starts.
02:03It's not five starts.
02:04It's eight starts now.
02:06That's enough to make you notice.
02:07So ignore the lack of wins.
02:10Ignore all that.
02:11Look at the peripherals.
02:12The peripherals have been really good, and that portends to some positive moments here
02:17for Reese Olsen coming up in the second half.
