00:00The Morikawa thing is a real struggle for me because I think that he's a better golfer than Matt McNeely.
00:05Like, just straight up, who's better at golf?
00:08I think it's Morikawa.
00:09But he hasn't played that well this year.
00:11He only has one top 10, I believe, since the Masters, maybe since the players.
00:16And I just, McNeely has some juice there that I worry about driver,
00:21but he's got some juice that I'm really excited about if he makes it.
00:24I don't think he will.
00:26I think they will end up going Morikawa.
00:29But if I was picking, those would be my 12 as of right now.
00:32So when you look at the depth between these two teams,
00:34I think it's easy to think that the European side has more depth.
00:38But I agree with you that I think 1-12, the American team, I think has played better this year.
00:44Maybe not at the beginning of the year, you could have said that.
00:45But throughout the season, on how it's gone on, the Americans have really picked up steam.
00:50But my biggest question is, I like the top of the European team much more than I like the top of the United States team.
00:58Where you know Scotty Scheffler is going to bring it.
01:00He's going to be your number one guy, but he can't play every single match.
01:03And so the fact that the European side can have Victor Hovland, Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, all these guys split up.
01:10And the Americans have got to find either new partnerships or they got to have players that they can ride that are going to be the two, three, four horse that can go out and give you four out of five matches or maybe even play all the matches.
01:23And right now, when you look at it, you think maybe Bryson could be that guy.
01:28But if he loses his first two matches, what kind of confidence is Keegan going to have in Bryson?
01:33And then you look at the rest of the list.
01:35Hinder hasn't had a great year.
01:37You know, JT's been not necessarily in form.
01:40He's a guy that would normally play five matches.
01:42I'm curious, Kyle, what's your thoughts on on who you think might be able to step up or who do you think the American side would look to to kind of be that two, three, four?
01:54Yeah, it's a great point.
01:56It's a it's a really good point, because I think you're right.
01:59Like from the euro side, you can just bank on Rory and Rahm and, you know, the guys that they have at the top there.
02:09Fleetwood's been I mean, I think he's going to be awesome.
02:11Yeah, you know, he'll go five and oh and then not win on the PGA Tour, which is infuriating.
02:19What does he play the Zurich?
02:21Because he should if he doesn't.
02:22It feels like he's a missed opportunity there.
02:24For sure.
02:26I think I think Bryson is your guy there to like I think Bryson's a huge X factor.
02:31I really do.
02:32I mean, he he wasn't.
02:34He yeah, he was amazing at whistling straights.
02:37He was he's just like I've been calling him like the great exhibition.
02:41Because like he is just like, like he lives for just ridiculous stuff like this.
02:49And at whistling straights, like he was like, the crowd favorite in a lot.
02:54And that was at a time where he was not super popular, but he got everybody on his side.
03:00And it was it was awesome to watch.
03:01Like, I think he has an opportunity to go like three oh and one or something.
03:06And that would be massive for the U.S.
03:08I think the other thing smiling and I said this during whistling straights is the point of having depth is to is to feel out who's like feeling it.
03:18That week is to figure out early, like, yeah, hey, Harris English and I don't know, Xander are like feeling it, like ride them as long as you can.
03:27The point is not to spread out everybody evenly so that everybody like plays three matches.
03:32The point is to figure out who's who's locked in like DJ and Morikawa at whistling straights and to ride them as long as you can.
03:39And that's where I think you like that's where a captain really comes into play of like, hey, these are these are what we think our strategic matchups are.
03:48These guys are awesome in the first match or the or the first foursomes or whatever.
03:52Let's ride them.
03:54And that's a that's a hard thing because you can't really play.
03:58I mean, you can plan for it, but you have to make some very spur of the moment decisions that affect like how we talk about this stuff for the next three years.
04:06And so that's that's like a non answer.
04:10But I think I'm interested to see they've got a lot of optionality in terms of like who the parents are.
04:17I think Scotty and Russell Henley will probably be together after how well they played at the President's Cup.
04:22But then after that, I don't know that there's anybody that's set in stone.
04:25Maybe Xander and Cantlay.
04:26I'm not sure they're maybe.
04:29But yeah, then you then figure out who's hot and ride them.
04:32And that's where you get I think that's where you take advantage of your depth over what I think is a little bit of a like you said, like a just not weak European bottom, but like not playing as well as the bottom of the U.S.
04:45So.
