00:00NBA props could change significantly, which honestly, Sam, seems like a big surprise to me.
00:05But look, I mean, you do have players that are on these 10-day contracts.
00:10And I guess this is the fear is that players can manipulate the lines or manipulate when they play.
00:17It's kind of crazy to me to think that this could even happen, Sam, in this day and age.
00:21But look, in baseball, we're seeing guys who are making millions of dollars being investigated too.
00:25So maybe we shouldn't be surprised with the NBA getting some pushback on props.
00:30Yeah, definitely not.
00:31And I think we're seeing a response to all those investigations as well.
00:34Like you have Ohio just came out with their rules that are going to seek to ban micro bets, which aren't just player props, but, you know, specific pitches a player throws, what the next pitch play will be, stuff that you would think could be easily tipped off and might be hard to track.
00:50Of course, you know, the two MLB players under investigation were essentially caught or identified because of tracking technology we have about their arm angle.
00:58So it's kind of just crazy the, you know, the amount of the length you can go to kind of find out and figure out this stuff besides just, you know, looking at text messages, besides just looking at phone calls, that sort of thing.
01:12But, you know, of course, the NBA is advocating for some more reform.
01:15We already saw last year they worked with sportsbooks after Jonte Porter to stop offering player props on players that are on two way contracts, which is the least amount you can make in the NBA.
01:25So that kind of was taken by a lot of people as, okay, this makes sense.
01:29You know, it's not like we're not offering a LeBron or Steph Curry or something where you actually drive a lot of activity to the black market.
01:35It's kind of these players who might be ripe for, you know, this kind of nefarious activity.
01:40So we'll see if they go a step further.
01:42We'll see what happens.
01:43I imagine the sportsbooks will push back if there's a lot of support to ban player props entirely.
01:49And I imagine it probably lands somewhere in the middle, given all the pushback.
