If a bloke from Brisbane can run around the world, then maybe people can aspire to move more.
00:18
So tell me, what is it that inspired you to start running?
00:21
I met a gentleman in 2017 that was the only other Aussie to run around the world.
00:27
I loved the story, I loved the adventure of it, and then throughout the last decade,
00:33
if not longer, I feel like the world's become more sedentary. I wanted to get the world moving
00:38
and I thought if a bloke from Brisbane can run around the world, then maybe people can aspire
00:43
to move more. And has it all been smooth sailing? What are some of the obstacles you come across?
00:49
Definitely hasn't been smooth sailing. I've had a whole lot of weather that I've come in contact
00:54
with. I've run through four floods, a few whiteouts, snowstorms, blizzards, a tornado.
01:01
I've been hit by three cars, chased by an infinite number of dogs, both domestic and wild.
01:13
It's probably the things that are on top of my head. But what's made it so much better is
01:18
the people I've met, the places I've seen, just the stories I got to tell.
01:22
It's been a full life lived in 517 days of plodding along.
