A section of the M25 in Surrey will be closed for the second full weekend this year, with

details of diversion routes announced. The motorway will be shut between junction 9 at

the A243 Leatherhead and 10 A3 Wisley from 9pm Friday May 10th to 6am Monday May 13th.

This closure is for the installation for a new bridge consisting of 68 beams, each weighing

16 tonnes and another 4 beams weighing 40 tonnes. It's part of a £317 million improvement

project to increase the number of lanes to make it easier to enter and exit the M25 at

junction 10. A 5 mile stretch of motorway between junction 11 in Chertsey and junction

12 with the A3 was closed between March 15th to 18th. This was the first ever planned daytime

closure on the M25 since it opened in 1986.
