Over the last few years, several human rights organisations have been demanding the release of former.

On March 5, 2024, the Bombay High Court acquitted DU professor Gokarakonda Naga (G N) Saibaba along with five other accused. All of them had been sentenced to life for alleged Maoist links.

Outlook's Vikram Raj spoke to GN Saibaba about his arrest, the legal battle he went through and how his political ideology played a role in the accusations against him.
