00:00 I'm here at Burnley Faith Centre for the announcement and I'm delighted and humbled to be announced
00:04 today as the next Bishop of Burnley and to be joining Bishop Philip's team later in the
00:08 year. My family are thrilled to be coming here to Lancashire and to the Diocese of Blackburn.
00:16 We've lived in the North West now for the past 13 years, our two children have grown
00:20 up here all of their lives and we love it here in the North West and we are so happy
00:24 to be staying here in this part of the world. But we're new to Lancashire, we're very much
00:29 looking forward to getting to know the county and getting to know you in the years ahead.
00:33 So I look to the future and my hope is to offer you a ministry which is confident in
00:38 God, rooted in prayer, focused on pastoral care and a mission and which offers a focus
00:44 for unity across the diocese. But my deeper prayer, my deeper hope is that united together
00:49 across the diocese in a rich variety of ways we shall give ourselves ever more fully to
00:55 coming to Christ and drawing others to Christ. These are transformational tasks and for me
01:01 they stand at the centre of what Vision 2026 is all about. It is in Christ's company,
01:07 considering in his life, that we shall find light and life. It is in his company that
01:13 we shall be able to give life to others.
