00:06 Craig, I'm gonna read you two reports.

00:07 First from ESPN's Jeff Passan that said Yankees ace Garrett Cole will have an MRI

00:12 on his right elbow, manager Aaron Boone told reporters yesterday.

00:16 Cole is coming off winning the American League Cy Young Award and

00:19 has had difficulty bouncing back between spring training starts.

00:23 That's what Boone said.

00:24 But Brian Hawk who covers the Yankees for MLB also said that Boone,

00:30 this is about Aaron Judge, that's on me.

00:32 All right, I messed that up.

00:33 Anyway, Garrett Cole is our first update here.

00:36 That's my fault.

00:38 All right, anyway, we focus on only Garrett Cole first and foremost.

00:48 should we be about Garrett Cole's status entering opening day?

01:04 Look, here's the situation.

01:06 Obviously, it's more concerning for Cole than it is for

01:09 Judge at this very moment, only because when you're talking about a pitching arm.

01:14 And I think the way that they're describing it is the recovery for Cole.

01:18 So after he pitches, potentially two, three days in,

01:21 not feeling like he should after starts, that's why the MRI is there.

01:26 Look, obviously, it's speculation at this point.

01:28 And so we can't really get into what the deal is, how serious it is.

01:32 Is there a tear?

01:33 Is he fine?

01:34 Is this just that arm?

01:35 We have no idea.

01:36 But the notion now that the Yankees are already halfway through spring training

01:41 with $700 million on the payroll, potentially not being ready for

01:45 opening day, is something that definitely should give people great pause for.

01:50 I don't think that there is an answer out there in free agency,

01:52 whether it's signing J.D. Martinez or Blake Snell,

01:54 just to sort of patchwork this together.

01:57 But it just does go to show you that the Yankees just are overvalued every year in

02:02 every market, and something really has to happen is go a little bit wrong with them.

02:08 And you end up making money.

02:09 [LAUGH] Now, I'm not rooting against the Yankees by any means.

02:12 I mean, I grew up initially as a Yankees fan when I was very young.

02:15 I lived in New York.

02:16 But just the reality is that a lot of people like Notre Dame,

02:19 they like betting on them, they like betting on Tom Brady,

02:21 they like betting on Alabama.

02:22 And we are a sports betting network.

02:24 And you have to understand that you're almost never gonna get

02:27 any kind of value with betting the Yankees.

02:29 I'm guessing their win total is gonna shoot down now from the mid 90s to

02:34 under that.

02:34 I would be very surprised, guys, right now, if that total's still 92.5 on FanDuel.

02:38 I mean, I know we're showing it there, but I would be very surprised if that's what

02:42 it's gonna be in a couple of days.

02:43 Now, by the way, with Aaron Judge, oblique, look,

02:47 they're gonna downplay this 100%.

02:48 This is what every team does, especially when you're trying to sell tickets for

02:51 opening day.

02:52 You're not gonna tell people Aaron Judge is not gonna be in the line of opening day.

02:55 All right, so at this point, what would I guess?

02:58 Just based on track record for history, Aaron Judge is gonna be out for

03:02 a couple weeks.

03:02 There's no question.

03:03 They are not gonna rush this.

03:04 It's 162 game season.

03:06 The oblique is very dangerous.

03:07 It could cost you a month or two.

03:09 My guess is it cost him a couple of weeks.

03:11 I think what he said is fair to the media this morning,

03:14 which is basically he's hoping to be ready for opening day.

03:18 But make no mistake about it.

03:19 If you're paying to go to a spring training game in Florida to go watch

03:22 the Yankees before opening day, I don't think you're gonna see Judge play.
