00:00 So ladies, the Chatternich group, Hensford meeting at Hensford Park and where else?
00:09 Chameleon Caff and Prospect Village Local.
00:12 So you're a sociable busy bunch, very creative.
00:15 We are.
00:16 Just talk us through what we've got here then, it's for an upcoming event isn't it?
00:21 It is, it's for the Great Imagining Cannock Chase.
00:25 Which is a climate event.
00:26 It's about climate change and these are different pictures of how the seasons change.
00:33 And it's got recycling on it, it's got bees, little bee, baby bee, don't know what you call it.
00:43 Flowers, frogs and the frogs spawn and the animals.
00:50 It is a colour isn't it and it's a good size.
00:54 It took us about three months to knit.
00:57 Yeah, I can believe it.
00:58 How many people have been involved?
01:00 There's five of us all together that have knitted and then Lynn from Hensford Park, her friends,
01:09 put it all together, we give her the great task of putting it all together.
01:13 Fantastic.
01:14 And what do you think then, are you proud of it?
01:16 We're very proud.
01:18 It does look great.
01:20 So which patch was yours then madam?
01:22 Mine, I've done the bees and the honeycomb.
01:25 Got you and then, have you done a couple?
01:28 Oh yeah, I've done the rainbow, butterflies and what else?
01:38 The grass at the bottom with all the flowers on and then all the little bees that are floating about.
01:44 You've been busy, your fingers must be red though.
01:49 And in the middle madam, what's your name?
01:52 Betty.
01:53 What bits have you done Betty?
01:55 This one with the seasons, the four seasons.
01:58 Cool.
01:59 And we've all helped to do this one to help Shirley who isn't here today.
02:04 I've done the dust being cut off in bits and pieces.
02:08 And I've done the sea one at the bottom, sea scene.
02:12 Beautiful.
02:13 And we've done snowman and some bits on that one.
02:16 We've all done a share and helped each other.
02:21 And what about you on the end madam, what's your name?
02:23 Margaret.
02:24 Go on Margaret, what bits have you done?
02:26 I've done the night one with the owls and that.
02:31 And the one with the sunflowers, the one with the animals.
02:35 The one with the robin, the one with the butterfly and the ladybird.
02:43 That's fantastic.
02:45 So it's going to be...
02:46 And that one, yeah, that's a good one.
02:48 And the one with the water lily.
02:49 Oh and the frog.
02:51 So you've never done anything quite like this before then?
02:54 Not as big as this.
02:56 We did do that man.
02:58 Oh yes.
02:59 We modelled it off you.
03:01 Modelled a man off a...
03:03 It was the nutcracker.
03:06 Ah yeah, yeah, yeah, the nutcracker.
03:08 So they measured me because I was the smallest.
03:11 They picked on me.
03:13 Well the nutcracker, so it's the nutcracker from the nutty cracker knitters.
03:18 We'll get it tongue tied.
03:20 But you must be very pleased of it.
03:22 We are, yes.
03:23 So if people want to get involved in the group, how do they find out any more info?
03:27 Have you got a Facebook group or anything like that?
03:29 Not really, there's just the five of us that meet on a Tuesday.
03:33 If people want to join the one at Prospect Village, it's a bigger group and there's more space.
03:40 We tend just to be the five of us because it's a small space.
03:45 We've known each other, well, five or six years.
03:50 We're quite a close knit group.
03:54 So it's become like a bit of a bonding exercise between you girls as well then?
03:59 We help each other, we share patterns and share wool.
04:02 If somebody's upset, we share hugs.
04:05 If somebody's got good news, we're all happy together.
04:10 And what is it, obviously that's the social side, but the physical side of knitting, do you just find it kind of relaxing?
04:16 It's easy to get through, isn't it?
04:18 Sometimes if a pattern goes wrong, it's fine.
04:21 But like I say, we help each other.
04:25 If somebody's struggling with a pattern, they'll say, "Oh, what do you think to this?"
04:28 Between us, we get it, we sort it.
04:32 If you're sitting watching the telly at night, you get fidgety.
04:38 If you're knitting, you've got something to concentrate on.
04:42 It keeps your mind alert as well.
04:44 Keeps your brain going.
04:46 It's your mental health as much as anything.
04:49 I have got some kegs at home with a hole in it that I've got on a fence.
04:53 If I drop them in, do you reckon you can dial them up for me?
04:57 Need a patch?
04:59 Need a patch, yeah.
05:00 No, it looks fantastic, ladies, you should be very proud. Thank you.
