00:00 Any exposure to asbestos is definitely undesirable and we should obviously try and avoid any unnecessary exposure.
00:10 I think it is important to recognize that the risk of any asbestos related conditions, and in particular, people would be worried about lung cancer and something called mesothelioma, which is a cancer around the lining of the lung.
00:24 The risk that those are directly related to how much you are exposed to. So a one-off exposure, say walking past one of these contaminated sites or otherwise, whilst not desirable, the risk is so low it's unmeasurable to the point that really, we couldn't with any degree of confidence say that this is likely to have any impact on health in the future.
00:49 And to put that in context, we can start to sort of measure risk in people who have worked with asbestos full-time for months and years and then you can start to see the effect from it.
01:01 So bringing that right down, a one-off moment is very, very unlikely to be of genuine concern and to harm somebody. And I guess the advice really would be just to make sure somebody is avoiding tobacco smoke and vapes and e-cigarettes, which we know can harm the lungs ability to clear dusts, if we were to breathe something like that in.
