Much-loved retired coalman Leslie Pateman recently walked from his Petersfield home to Queen Elizabeth Country Park. But his attempt to buy coffee and cake for the walk home failed, as he only carries cash and the attraction is card only. He believes his tale is symptomatic of the older generation being left behind.
