00:00 Well, we look ahead to next week where we're not only watching for the return
00:03 for snow in the forecast for the Northeast, but also rain returning to
00:08 California after this week's storms. Bernie Raynaud and long-range
00:14 expert Joe Lundberg show us what to expect.
00:18 Well for the last two weeks our long-range department has been warning
00:23 you a change is coming and Joe the change next week begins with our early
00:28 week storm. That's exactly right. We've been talking about this storm for two
00:31 weeks. We were targeting the period right up leading up to Valentine's Day and
00:35 here it is. That storm will try to work its way into the Ohio Valley then
00:38 reorganize along the mid-Atlantic coast and as it does it will start to pull
00:42 some colder air into its circulation. So some areas are gonna see snow, some rain
00:46 to snow, some all rain, but this is the impetus for change for the pattern. The
00:51 three things to know about that pattern change after the Northeast storm. A
00:54 February chill, not bitter cold, but certainly back to reality from what
00:58 you've been dealing with recently. Dry for most of next week in California. That
01:02 too is going to change and out ahead of it there's going to be a storm that will
01:05 go from Texas to the southeast. A lot of rain with that and more drought relief
01:08 and the threat of flooding. Once again a split flow across the country Joe as we
01:13 get in the next week. Northern Branch, Southern Branch, but it's that Northern
01:16 Branch coming a little farther south that brings in the colder air. Yeah
01:21 it's not like there's Arctic air in play but it's gonna be colder. I mean you've
01:24 been seeing record warmth across the Midwest and temperatures way above
01:27 average in the mid Atlantic and Northeast. That's gonna go by the wayside
01:31 behind the storms of the jet stream dips. You're also gonna see a dip in the jet
01:34 stream in the southwest ahead of it dry and chilly weather. But late next week
01:38 next Friday and Saturday I think there's gonna be some warm weather returning to
01:41 California and one of those pieces of energy comes into the southern plains.
01:45 So from Texas all the way to the eastern seaboard you're gonna be talking about
01:48 rain and it could be quite a bit of it could lead to some flooding and
01:51 certainly more drought relief from Texas to Mississippi and in California. Joe
01:56 some problems late next week. Yeah you're gonna get relief from the the big
02:01 big storm that you had this week but next week late in the week next Friday
02:04 Saturday the stormy pattern returns and it may continue for the rest of the
02:08 month for you.
