King’s cancer ‘caught early’, says Prime Minister as he wishes him full recovery

The Prime Minister said he is thankful the King’s cancer has been “caught early” as he wished him a full recovery.Charles, 75, is facing regular treatment for cancer after his shock diagnosis was uncovered during his recent hospital stay for a procedure on an enlarged prostate.The King, who has postponed all his public duties, returned to London from Sandringham on Monday and has already begun his medical care as an outpatient under the supervision of his specialist team of doctors.Rishi Sunak said he was left “shocked and sad” when he was told about the King’s cancer diagnosis.He told BBC Radio 5 Live: “All our thoughts are with him and his family.“Thankfully, this has been caught early.”

00:33 normal and we'll crack on with everything but he'll just know he'll be

00:36 in our thoughts and our prayers many families around the country who are

00:39 listening to this will have been touched by the same thing and they know what it

00:43 means for everyone so I'll say we'll just be willing him on and hopefully we

00:47 get through this as quickly as possible.

00:48 Have you spoken to him?

00:49 I'm in regular contact with him and will continue to be so during this.

00:52 And does that mean your meetings face-to-face will continue or will there be a different format?

00:57 I'm not going to try to get into the details but I'm in regular contact with him as I always am and that will absolutely continue.
