How a packet of crisps can help you keep your house warmer this winterITV
Transcript
00:00So, basically, some heat from radiators goes into the wall that it's attached to.
00:06If it's an external wall, it can actually be lost outside the house.
00:09So sticking something reflective behind your radiator can help bounce a little bit of heat into the room.
00:16It's not going to make a huge difference, but it will do something.
00:19Now, you can buy special panels from DIY stores like this,
00:24which you just cut to size and fit with double-sided tape behind your radiator
00:29or you can use things that you already have in your home.
00:34For example, foil.
00:36You just cut it, stick it, make sure the reflective side is sort of facing the radiator.
00:42And you can even use crisp packets.
00:45If you turn them inside out, clean them and dry them, you can stick them behind your radiator.
00:50Wow, that means you have to eat them first to be able to use them to heat the house.
00:53Darn it.
00:53Yeah, you do.
00:54Darn it.
00:55Yes, the hard part.
