Yet again a pub has come under fire after banning children. This time it’s the William the Fourth in Leyton, which has imposed a new rule that disallows kids post-7pm. “There have been times the pub has resembled a creche,” an announcement on social media said. So, we took to the streets of London to ask people if they think children should be banned from pubs.

00:00I don't think children should be allowed in pubs after certain times.
00:04As a parent, you know, I appreciate the flexibility of having places, you know, to bring my whole family
00:10and not just, you know, myself and my wife.
00:12That, you know, there needs to be controls done, but yes, I think it's a family environment.
00:17I was a pub kid growing up, like, we'd be in the pub all the time when I was a kid.
00:21It's like, in a sense, part of British culture is going to the pub,
00:25like, you know, having a nice family meal and I think they shouldn't be not allowed.
00:28When my children were small, we took them into the pub because we would be going out as a family
00:34and it meant we could keep an eye on them.
00:36When people have had a drink, children are running around and can cause problems.
00:42It's not a black or white issue, right, it kind of depends on the establishment,
00:45kind of depends on time of day, you know.
00:48I have a young daughter, I wouldn't bring her to a pub, you know, at 7 o'clock at night or 8 o'clock at night
00:54when, you know, you would figure it's mostly like an adult pie and tell.
00:59So, I think if it's early in the day, off hours, you know, maybe a little bit more at the parents' discretion.
