Rishi Sunak says he is ‘concerned’ about the loss of life in Gaza, after ITV News broadcast footage showing a civilian man being fatally shot whilst carrying a white flag. The prime minister also renewed calls for a pause in the fighting between Israel and Hamas to allow for the release of more hostages and delivery of aid to the region. Report by Covellm. 00:00 We are concerned about the significant impact and loss of life of civilians in Gaza.
00:06 I've been very clear about that.
00:08 Now whilst Israel of course has a right to remove the threat that Hamas poses to it and its people,
00:14 it has to take care to protect civilians and do that in a way that complies with international law.
00:19 You know, President Biden and I spoke about this earlier in the week.
00:22 I've spoken to the Israeli Prime Minister about it.
00:24 The Foreign Secretary is in the region reiterating those same messages.
00:28 And what we want to see is a pause in what is happening so that we can get the hostages out
00:33 and more aid into the region. And that's what is a priority for us.
