Actor Dean Sullivan has died at the age of 68. Best known for playing Jimmy Corkhill in Brookside, he was set to star in The Atkinson's pantomime but had recently withdrawn from the show due to ill health. Sullivan's agent confirmed he died peacefully following a short illness on Wednesday.
The RSPCA is appealing for information after a cat with a broken jaw was dumped in a plastic bag at a recycling plant on Wirral. A worker at the Veolia household recycling site in Mount Road, Bebington, discovered the cat. Sadly, due to her condition, the cat was put to sleep to end her suffering.
