00:00 In Palestine, citizens of Gaza welcome the agreement by Hamas and Israel to extend the
00:03 ceasefire for two additional days in the hope that it will become permanent as soon as possible.
00:09 Qatar and Egypt helped negotiate the four-day humanitarian truce in the Gaza Strip that
00:16 started last Friday, November 24, where Hamas released at least 50 Israeli prisoners in
00:24 exchange for 150 Palestinian hostages.
00:28 The agreement came to fruition and the parties decided to extend the truce for two more days.
00:38 Like everyone else, we would like a definite ceasefire.
00:40 We live under a lot of pressure.
00:42 We are worried every night about the possible bombing the next day.
00:46 But we are also grateful for the efforts of the international community to have extended
00:50 the truce for another two days.
00:53 However, despite the ceasefire agreement, the Gaza Strip still faces multiple problems
00:59 such as shortages of food, fuel, medical supplies, and shelter, among many others.
01:08 Food and other needs in the Gaza Strip are still far from adequate.
01:12 There are no words to describe how I feel.
01:19 Parties hope that with the collaboration of the international community, a permanent ceasefire
01:23 can be reached and they can return to their lives before the armed conflicts.
01:33 We have relaxed a bit in the last couple of days.
01:36 We hope that the international community will help us push for a permanent ceasefire in
01:42 Gaza so that we can return to life as it was before the conflict.
01:45 Otherwise, our lives will become increasingly difficult.
01:52 Israel declared war on Hamas on October 7, following an attack by the Islamic Resistance
01:56 Movement which resulted in the death of over 1,200 Israelis and the capture of 250 others.
02:07 Since then, the Israeli state has killed at least 15,000 Palestinian citizens, mostly
02:12 women and children, while another 7,000 remain missing.
