Spain: Gov. bans U.S. military aid for Israel through bases in Cadiz and Seville

The government of Spain banned the transit of U.S. military aid to Israel through the military bases of Rota, in Cádiz, and Morón de la Frontera, in Seville. Both bases have historically been used by the United States for military supplies. However, Spanish authorities emphasise that they are facilities under Spanish sovereignty, so any movement of armament must be authorised by Madrid. This announcement comes amid growing international protests and denunciations about the genocide perpetrated by Israel in the Gaza Strip. The measure prevents U.S. planes and ships loaded with weapons, ammunition or military equipment for Israel from using the bases located in Spanish territory as a bridge.
