This Monday, Colombian President Gustavo Petro led a meeting of the Council of Ministers to go over recent events, their repercussions, and set out strategies on how to face them. The Colombian president denounced the recent U.S. attacks on Colombia's anti-drug trafficking policies and stressed the hypocrisy of the northern country, as they do little to tackle the financing structure of drug trafficking which mainly exists in the U.S. In this sense, Petro called for a joint plan of action to deal with drug trafficking in the Pacific. The Colombian head of state also made it clear that the only alliance that the nation is part of is that of Latin America and the Caribbean, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation in the region to ensure security and stability.
