A man arrested on suspicion of murder has been detained under the Mental Health Act after a woman was found dead at her home in Kirkby on Friday night. The woman, in her 70s, was found at a house on Denver Road around 11.30 pm. Paramedics attended, but sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is hoped that Queen's Drive could be reopened in early December. This follows the tragic deaths of married couple Elaine and Philip Marco in August. All of the physical work has now been completed on the road, and gully sensors will be installed in early December.

Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram has slammed the "excessive and grossly unfair punishment" handed out to Everton and has vowed to support their appeal against a 10 point deduction. The club had been found guilty of a breach of the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules after a lengthy case.
