00:01A murder investigation is underway after a man died following an attack inside a fish and chip
00:07shop in Stockbridge Village. Police say the 54-year-old suffered a head injury during the
00:13incident at the village chippy off Leechcroft on Friday the 17th of April. He sadly later died
00:19and specialist officers are supporting his family at this time. A post-mortem will be carried out
00:24to establish the cause of death. A 25-year-old man from Stockbridge Village, previously arrested
00:31on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent, remains on conditional bail. Detectives from
00:37Merseyside Police are now appealing for witnesses. Officers say inquiries continue.
