00:13 But we do have a story breaking here on the show, Sam.

00:16 So let's kind of start off with this

00:17 because we haven't heard the National Hockey League

00:20 associated with much sports gambling

00:23 or any sort of allegations or violations.

00:25 But we do have one coming in just now,

00:28 a player by the name of Shane Pinto

00:32 for the Ottawa Senator who doesn't play for them,

00:34 but they own the rights,

00:35 has received a 41 game suspension

00:38 for allegations into sports wagering.

00:41 So I know beyond that, Sam, we don't know a lot,

00:43 but this is definitely something we'll keep an eye on.

00:53 'cause I didn't know much about the situation either,

00:55 but like you just said,

00:57 a player that the senators own the rights to

00:59 is gonna be suspended for basically half the season.

01:03 Now, whether or not he was gonna be able

01:05 to play those games anyway

01:06 when the suspension would take effect,

01:07 like if he would not be called up

01:10 but in those games would count,

01:12 we don't know all the facts yet,

01:14 but basically the league came out with a memo

01:17 according to this article

01:18 that Sportsnet just put out there

01:19 that essentially reminded everyone of the policies

01:23 that like you can't bet on games, right?

01:25 So it wasn't breaking news there

01:27 and didn't actually identify him as betting on games.

01:30 They just said that he sort of

01:32 violated the league's gambling policy.

01:34 So what you wanna interpret that as is kind of up to you,

01:38 but I imagine we'll get some more news about this.

01:40 The NHL obviously is not a league

01:42 that has had to deal with this much.

01:44 The only scandals I really know of

01:47 are like from the 40s or 50s

01:49 that I briefly read up on before coming on here.

01:51 Obviously the NFL has definitely made more news

01:55 and even college has made more news.

01:56 So it's an interesting one to see how this develops.
