AmBank is providing financial support to Swift Haulage's procurement of electric prime movers in line with dedication to fostering eco-conscious practices and contributing to Malaysia's efforts to combat climate change

00:00 We have a standby line basically for SWIFT to the tune of every year we get about 20

00:03 million ringgit for them to upgrade their fleet of vehicles.

00:07 So this is part of the scheme that we do to actually support SWIFT in moving towards EV.

00:14 At the moment, the price of EV is quite steep, but we believe in the long run it should be

00:18 more viable.

00:19 I think as you can see, for banks we are mandated to improve the GHG emissions of all our customers,

00:27 which is including SWIFT in that sense.

00:29 And we do want them to migrate to a lesser GHG emissions kind of activities.

00:35 And SWIFT being a logistic company, the largest emission is coming from their trucks and fleet

00:40 of vehicles.

00:41 So if they slowly move towards electricity or electric-powered vehicles, so hopefully

00:46 we can have SWIFT registering in one day, very soon, zero carbon emissions.

00:52 That's the thinking.
