00:03 and you're here outside the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

00:08 Excellent, and what's happening today? I understand it's the anniversary?

00:12 Today is the 41st anniversary of the Mary Rose being raised from the sown.

00:17 It was an incredible spectacle, watched by over 60 million people on TV,

00:22 the first ever underwater broadcast.

00:25 And today we're celebrating that, we've invited anyone with the name of Mary or Rose

00:29 to come in the museum for free, but also we're giving it a chance to tell the story

00:33 about the raising, finding and excavating of the Mary Rose,

00:36 one of the biggest Tudor collections in the world and biggest maritime salvations ever.

00:41 It's such an incredible story.

00:44 It's been so incredible to invite people with the name Mary or Rose to come to the Mary Rose,

00:48 we even had one Rosemary, but what we had was people who've never been to the museum before,

00:53 people who hadn't been to the museum since they were a child,

00:56 people who remember going to the Mary Rose with their parents who are no longer with us.

01:00 And it's been a nice emotional moment of sharing today with so many Mary's and Roses.

01:05 We were overwhelmed. We had a queue at one point, half the side of the museum

01:09 with Mary's and Roses waiting to get in on this amazing 41st anniversary of the raising.

01:14 OK, so my name's Beverly Mary Rose and I'm down at the historic dockyard at the Mary Rose exhibition.

01:21 I've been invited down today as a special chemical renovation co-author of the raising of the Mary Rose from 21 years ago.

01:29 I saw it advertised and thought, "Great, why don't I come down and have a look around

01:34 and take most of the opportunities?" So here I am.

01:37 Absolutely, so it's a free ticket for anybody who called Mary Rose as well, so all the best.

01:41 It is a free ticket because they were clearly looking for Mary Roses to come for, and Mary's and Roses.

01:47 And so is it your first time here or have you been here before?

01:52 I came here before this museum, when they first raised the Mary Rose, when they had a show

01:58 and you could look over the balcony and there was still spray.

02:01 It was quite a few years ago now, and I haven't been here since it's been renovated to look 20 years today.

02:08 I became a Rose when I married in 1984. That was two years after they had raised the Mary Rose in the seabed.

02:16 So as you can imagine, I got a lot of quips when I was just getting married about becoming an old wreck

02:22 and whether or not I'd be renovated. So here I am.

02:26 My wife.

02:29 Yeah.

02:30 And I'm Rose's mum.

02:31 And guys, what brings you to the Mary Rose today?

02:34 Because I'm a Rose.

02:36 It's my first time here as well. We came today, I think it's 41 years since the ship was raised.

02:43 So they're doing the offer where Rose can come for free and have her photo taken.

02:47 And you really wanted to come, didn't you?

02:49 Yes.

02:50 Excellent. And so how has it been for you so far?

02:53 Is there anything about particularly today that you enjoyed?

02:56 We've not looked around much yet, but I did like the ship's dock. I thought that was really cool.

03:04 You like the ship.

03:06 Yeah.
