00:00 The Prime Minister flew in yesterday from Port Lincoln and met with prominent Indigenous
00:07 leaders, members of the community and local council members, all keen to catch a glimpse
00:12 of the Prime Minister and take a photo with him as well.
00:14 It's the first time he's been here to the regional city.
00:17 Now, he'll be campaigning hard here in regional SA in the lead up to the referendum this Saturday.
00:23 We heard yesterday anecdotally there's a portion of the population that still haven't made
00:28 up their mind about the vote and also a portion that don't understand what the referendum
00:32 will mean for Indigenous people this Saturday.
00:35 Now, I spoke to Bungalow leader Emmeline Richards.
00:38 She's a prominent figure here in Port Lincoln.
00:41 She said she originally was going to vote no, but she's changed her mind recently to
00:45 yes because she recognises the importance of this referendum and what it will mean for
00:52 Indigenous lives.
00:53 Now, I asked her about what she thought about the general sentiment here in Port Lincoln
00:58 from the wider community about the voice.
01:00 Here's what she had to say earlier.
01:03 It's a bit of a mixed bag on the Lower Eye Peninsula.
01:07 I've thought there would be a lot more against and quite strongly, but there's a bit of a
01:16 balance out here, which is good, which is promising.
01:19 Well, the Prime Minister will be heading to Viterra, a grain handling company just behind
01:24 us.
01:25 It's a major employer in town, a major exporter of products here as well.
01:29 He'll be holding a press conference there a little later this morning, and then we hear
01:33 he's off to the Northern Territory.
